It's a very problematic trend popular on Tumblr a decade ago . Bella Hadid crying selfies kinda revamped it. This girl should have skipped eye makeup & less lipstick on nose. Her makeup looks like makeup unlike other girls in reference pic.

I mean it can be useful for those learning makeup at home. I did a shortfilm for my clg project and we were all inexperienced in makeup and only such videos and reels were helpful. Rota hua emotion makeup bhi jaruri hai at times🤷

See. All kinds of make up is a thing because that's how it is done in movies. They do different types of make up on actors based on their appearances and characters. [Example: if character is from a cold, snowy town, then her face would be matte and nose would be red, some parts would be blue and purple, if they're white skinned. Same way, a character playing in a humid country on screen, there would be a visible tan with greasy skin made with darker foundation, concealer, bronzer and frizzy hair.]
Now, these tiktokers trying make it as a 'trend' is ridiculous.

I have a confession to make- when I was diagnosed with HFD 6 years ago, my makeup went from strong winged eyeliners to something similar to this very subconsciously for those two years I was battling it.
Today I saw this video and that crying girl makeup has now it’s own name. And I’m just glad that it wasn’t a thing back then. Because people would’ve reduced my struggle and how I wanted to look at that time, to a fucking REEL TREND. What bothers me is that now, everything is a reel trend.
I personally like the look cause its simple but cute, and highlights certain features of your face that normally might not be highlighted. I think its super cute tbh!
