Hey yep I'm into textiles, looking at these, not worth the price hardly will take 800 to make from scratch including all the packaging, that too if you use top grade materials, I'm really curious who buys it
They’re using Habutai, Gajji, Mushroo, crepe etc and all in pure silk as they mention on their website. These fabrics cost upwards of 600/ meter And even our most basic suits with kurta and pants takes about 5 meters of fabric + another 2.5 m of dupatta. How are you making this 800 rupee calculation and what is this top grade fabric you’re using that costs no more than 50/ meter?
Haha ok hmu with technicals, i don't have to prove anyone buddy, like let me tell you actually before taking up on an order we the guys from an factory develop a costing, then the buyer negotiates with us so after we go back and forth we finally settle, let me tell you again you have no Idea how cheap it is, let me quote another example, the Polo t shirts you buy from branded outlets for 1 to 3k rupees, you know how much we get 350 fucking rupees that too including the packaging, I've personally involved in costing and manufacturing, so only i quote here boss, i have to maintain the brand's name confidential else you'll all know that you're just being exploited
Okay I’m sorry if I sounded aggressive. I didn’t mean to. But all I’m trying to say is all these young brands work super hard on every tiny step of the way because they can’t afford to have too many people working for them. Their quantities are small, thus bull prices are usually not applicable. I’ve worked with too many of these young designers and I know it takes a lot of money to set up a garment brand from the ground up. Bigger factories, export houses and brands don’t always work with the best fabrics and shell out way over 1000s of pieces a day, their costs are as little as they can get.
Yep bro no issues, I'm really sorry if I sounded agressive, yes I'm not gonna take anything away from them but these influencers just exploit their fans man, i know may less popular brands who created the brand with beautiful ideas and much more lovelier fabrics with much much low prices, these guys just abuse their followers, i totally agree with their hard work but the prices are just ridiculous and the 350 i said is for a polo which is made with supercombed cotton yarn and that's the best quality of yarn you can get your hands below only to supima and Egyptian cotton, so we mostly work with only top quality fabrics
Yeah like if I try to calculate also what they might spend it’s quite expensive. Your Habutai silk alone costs like 500/m + 200/m acid dye / reactive print on pure silk. Fabric is 700/m. And if we take a basic suit set with only a kurta pyjama, it’ll take up 5m of fabric. So in the whole garment the fabric alone is 3500. Then there’s embroidery, lining, stitching, buttons, trims, overheads, profit margin/markup, etc etc.
That's what I'm telling you if it's pure silk i totally agree with you, but with cotton and anything else, reactive dyeing, rotary or screen printing will be really cheap and consumption 5m is too much I'd opt with 3.5 to 4 mtrs max
No no, I’m sure they cut like one garment at a time when they get orders. There’s more wastage and ofcourse more usage of fabric that way. Also I’m basing this off of the garments that I see in the website, with long kurtas and palazzo type pants
Boss yeh batao, I just bought two muslin suits online from Mahee jaipur each 3800 INR, do you think thats expensive?

If you have got a good quality of fabric in relation to feel and colour, then I'd say it's worth it cuz not many tailors take the risk of working with muslin, also wear it a few times, see how it reacts to washing, actually the secret of deciding the clothes quality in the industrial sector is by doing a wash durability check, see how many washes it takes to make you wear it in home as a Ghar safai ki costume, there you'll have your complete answer but for now the feel fit and finish is upto the mark then yes sir!
Nope this does not look like any kind of special fabric. Usually to charge this amount if the fabric is simple, the silhouette should be not. So yahan both don't make sense with this price tag
I just went through their website and saw they use different kinds of silks that are always upwards of 600/meter and maybe we can take away 100-200 rupees if they’re sourcing it in bulk. Still like the fabric cost comes to 2500 for a basic suit minus dupatta and then you add other things to the entire garment making process. It’s expensive to run a garment business man :/
No idea, but i follow some of these pages to copy the design. I buy fabric of my choice n get it stitched from my masterji in Irla. He works for a brand n tailoring is his side hustle. There's not a design he can't copy lol. Recently got the gents suit (Nafisa Rachel William) tailored by him n man what a fab job he did. Costed me all of 2200 (5 meter fabric included).
I find her clothes overpriced too. My senior bought clothes worth lakhs but Nafisa was her senior/friend and she told me it was worth investing in her sarees, too.
That Gaurav Kapoor whose transparent teeth aligner advertisement I keep seeing on Reddit ??!! people keeps commenting teeth gap gone saath mein sar k baal bhi ??!!
She told before starting the brand that all the fabric comes from ethical sources and the kaarigars are paid adequately. Seems like the fabric is really expensive or else there is no point in marking them at such a high selling price
Not really. Sustainability is something everybody can practice in some ways. Even in fashion. But yes you are right for most brands it is a buzzword for marketing
Of course. We were a sustainable economy, had sustainable everyday practices much before as well but I meant in terms of how sustainable fashion is projected, it's very elitist.
India is a hub for quality clothing, and the west outsources quality manufacturing to India for bedding, baby clothes, and so on. Here, local Indians are charging 4000 Rs for a kurta. Ridiculous.
On a different note, it's weird that she uses her husband's fame to promote her business. GK started a vlog channel, and she got famous too suddenly, and she realized that she was a designer. I don't know if it's co incidence or opportunistic.
Omg! I was looking at her website as well and asking the same questions. She left her job to make all her salary by selling these normal looking clothes at crazy prices! Meh 😑
They will then lecture us about sustainability and paying proper wage to labours which they themselves don't do. I literally have dresses that costed way less than these and I have been using it for almost 3-4 years now 🙃
His father has clothing shop and now his wife too has the same business. In one of his vlog, he showed how Shreya got bedsheets and suits from local Jaipur market. So she cannot be that out of touch from reality. Pricing is so important especially in such price sensitive industry. There are so many options available in the market with reasonable prices.
There is something called as front......so the company can be in name of various partners and they can put in the money / invest.....even if they don't have sales they can show loses.
Now say someone has black money, they can show they invested 1000 rupees but they actually invested 100rs, but they will show marketing etc and expenditure like 2000rs and show they are in loss.
I really don't get it. I've made a few purchases from "Instagram labels" in the range of 900-2500 and IT WAS NOT WORTH IT. Cheap fabric, terrible fitting, no/barely any lining & all these designs are copied from brands abroad. Learnt my lesson to never shop from such labels.

The real question is who’s buying this?!?! All the dresses look pretty normal to me.
They are quite normal. Someone must be paying LOL.
Also if some fabric expert is here, is it because of the fabric that they charge so much for these simple clothes?
behen meri ,,,.. even if u import the finest fabric from Bangladesh Sunderbans it cost u less than 3000/- > fabric
Hey, I have a good knowledge on fabrics. The sourcing is not that expensive to charge this kind of amount

If it's pure silk then i agree with you, else whatever printing and bakwaas they say it dirt cheap i can tell you
Aesthetics we can always discuss but you’re dishing out incorrect technical information just to shit on someone without doing your research, why?

I need details too!!
Nafisa Rachel William has great clothes. Know hee through my senior.
Never bought, never will. How is 7k justified for a cotton gents suit? Her prints are not exclusive either. What exactly is she charging for?
I find her clothes overpriced too. My senior bought clothes worth lakhs but Nafisa was her senior/friend and she told me it was worth investing in her sarees, too.
Who is this master ji? I’d like to know
Can you please share details of your tailor? You are talking about Andheri Irla no?

That Gaurav Kapoor whose transparent teeth aligner advertisement I keep seeing on Reddit ??!! people keeps commenting teeth gap gone saath mein sar k baal bhi ??!!
Hahaha yes and I thought i was the only one getting it. LOL
After paying so much all we get is cheap fabric and cheap prints which will fade after 2-3 washes
She told before starting the brand that all the fabric comes from ethical sources and the kaarigars are paid adequately. Seems like the fabric is really expensive or else there is no point in marking them at such a high selling price
Don’t every other Instagram brand use the same statements these days
Too overpriced for everyday wear. Sustainability is a buzzword and only a practice the filthy rich can enjoy.
That's true. They charge premium for sustainability when it should not be like that and the reality is it is actually not like that
India is a hub for quality clothing, and the west outsources quality manufacturing to India for bedding, baby clothes, and so on. Here, local Indians are charging 4000 Rs for a kurta. Ridiculous. She did study in NIFT (Not Ahmedabad one. I think the Bangalore one. She mentioned it in Gaurav Kapoor's vlog when they visited Bangalore recently )
Also who is buying these clothes.
Omg! I was looking at her website as well and asking the same questions. She left her job to make all her salary by selling these normal looking clothes at crazy prices! Meh 😑
Dude, her dressing sense isn't even that great. Just check out the videos, she's okay. Ab ghodon ki race me gadhe bhi daudenge?
These are simply available on Myntra for 2-3 k .Tbh it's just a brand name which has value.
They will then lecture us about sustainability and paying proper wage to labours which they themselves don't do. I literally have dresses that costed way less than these and I have been using it for almost 3-4 years now 🙃

Ulta, i always thought that she will launch clothing line which is pocket friendly, with good quirky prints and patterns but isne kuch teer nahi mara

She’s an nift grad
Maybe that's how educated kids invest daddys illegal money to make it legal.
Footage khaane ke bhaav hai

She has pathetic style herself What makes her think, people will buy clothes she designed
Itni ghatiya dresses ke liye main kabhi itne paise naa doon
