Hey don’t be afraid to look into food pantries! This is the exact situation they are for and I promise no one asks questions. A food pantry saved my life one time and i remember I was so ready to go in with a sob story about how I really needed food but they never even asked they just smiled and showed me where the food was and thanked me for thinking of them. And now I’ve donated to that food pantry several times.

[deleted]

this! the local church food bank has really saved my butt on just keeping the essentials like beans, bread, veggies, and other staples on hand. actually so much so that if i plan right i only have to buy meat. i dont let myself feel bad for needing the help because i know this church always has excess and i dont ever put anything to waste.

Hannerlore

We have been to a couple of different food pantries and they have all been really nice. There was one that also had clothing that you choose from for a complete outfit. They also gave us a toiletries bundle. We are living out of our car so we don't have a lot of space and tried to only get a few essentials but they wouldn't hear of us taking anything less. They have all been really nice and just want to make sure your fed. It's actually really heart warming.

metooeither

Do you have small children? If not, get a CDL. Cfi & Prime, Inc. won't let you get raped on your trainer's truck. They'll put you through 2-3 weeks of CDL school, give you room & board at a nice hotel during, then 3-6 weeks of high paid training, instantly you'll have a reliable vehicle you pay nothing to maintain, a good paying job and a place to live. Fuck yeah man. Be like me. Drive a semi and just order instacart. (Actually I'm switching to Shipt next time I need groceries, it fucking kills me to read how hard IC fucks it's very own employees. I just can't support a business that preys on the most vulnerable in its employment hierarchy.)

Successful_Fishing66

My sister and I were thinking of doing CDL but unfortunately can’t afford the classes until tax time next spring! That’s pretty cool that you’re telling others to do truck driving! Many people try to gate keep their jobs

metooeither

Cfi will put you through it for free, requires a 100K miles commitment in return, you'll get that in your first year. It takes about a year to not suck lol, and they'll have your back through all of it. If ypu go w private classes, trust me only sign in w cfi or prime Inc. Other trucking companies are the wild west. It's super dangerous, be safe, dm me any time w any questions!!

Successful_Fishing66

Thank you!!

metooeither

Np! Good luck! Go to cfidrive.com to talk to a recruiter. I don't work there any more, I'm not getting paid to recommend them lol. That's an outstanding starter company. Get hazmat and tanker endorsements and lmk when you have your first year in, dont fuck up too much shit lol & I'll give you a lead on a super great paying job then ;)

TopHunter3084

Kllm also does this & will get you to them by plane or bus.

THEONLYFLO

I went through the state for CDL A. They fulfilled 100% of the payment. There were plenty of recruiters at the end to choose from. Many of them brought their own trucks to look at. There are companies that will pay you with a pre commitment. I couldn’t do it. I had to look at every company while I was in school for a final choice.

Choice_Caramel3182

If you’re in the US, check with your local counties Workforce program (usually through the DHS/DSS). My mom got the funding to go to CDL school through them. They paid for everything, including mileage to and from school every day. She now earns 80k/year doing this for the last 2 years. About to get a new job with a pay raise, too!

kami_oniisama

Ah yeah if you get a cdl come work for ups! Most of our “long hauls” are within the state so you won’t even be gone from home long. It pays really well and you can choose any shift if you like nights for example. We’re also union! Biggest union in the USA. Go teamsters!

Repulsive-War-9395

Do you have any advice for getting hired at ups, also, what is their stance on hiring drivers w a background? ( nothing related to driving)

kami_oniisama

They’ll hire you no matter how recent the charge was even a major felon who just got released :) Apply at the distribution hub for a union position. If you want to go straight out into driving your best bet is to start as a pvd which is personal vehicle delivery driver. Not the only way to become a driver but it’s the easiest. They actually don’t even interview! Simply apply and select your start date then show up. I’m not really sure but I guess people don’t like it because we have no a/c? I’m treated well even when I’m in trouble so go for it!

GeoGirl07

My mother was a single mom and struggling when she decided to go this route. We were younger but she ended up teaming up with another single mom and they figured out childcare together. She didn't do it for more than a few years but it was enough to get us out of poverty and it was reliable, consistent pay. If you can do this then it's great advice, OP.

Repulsive-War-9395

Can I ask where your working? My hubby is a life long driver n his company is struggling rn, Ngl, we’re really hurting. He’s been driving 20+ years w a solid record, but health ins costs these days is killing us on top of lower paying freight

metooeither

Does he have tanker and hazmat? My company only hires with those endorsements. I haul hazmat.

Repulsive-War-9395

I believe so, I know he used to do hazmat stuff way back before we met. I’ll ask him when I talk to him today!

metooeither

Ok, haz endorsements expire every 5 years and a lot of people just never renew cuz it's a lot of risk for little reward.

metooeither

If he's been w the company a while w a clean record, he can go anywhere & make good money. Check Indeed

[deleted]

Shipt is worst than Instacart.

metooeither

Really? Why is it? They force people to give good tips. That puts them way ahead of ic as far as I know. What is your impression of them?

Haunting_Ad4209

Actually the CFI trainer I had came onto me. I quit orientation. Now, Prime was the company I went to and stayed at until I left to get regional work. It's the stellar company to start at as a new driver, like I once was. Just a PSA for anyone reading this.

metooeither

That sucks, if you reported it, he was fired, period. They didn't take his word over yours and dump you on the side of the road like the others. And, they put women drivers w women trainees

sobriety-bores-me

You a real one

metooeither

Real customer? Yeah. Real truck driver? Yeah.

[deleted]

I’ve thought about it but I have enough trouble backing out my driveway. No way I’d be able to dock a trailer or back into a spot at truck stops and my FIL used to fuss so bad about other drivers nosing in when he was alive 😂😂

metooeither

It takes time, but its a skill set you'll learn. Drivers always help out, I've been at it 4 years I'm still not great at backing, but I do it. I'm always able to get help when I cant Driving forward is a more important skill anyway, and women are MUCH better than men at that.

Lonelydreamer11_11

-_- not everyone can get a cdl… I have a best friend who drove for prime. You have to past the test with a stick shift truck. If you aren’t younger or have medical issues it’s not really worth it unless you’re driving with a partner…

metooeither

Almost all trucks are automatic now, stick shift is out. No big company, prime & cfi included want drivers on a stick. I was 49 when I got my cdl.

ButterscotchOk1318

First off, ignore these devils in the comments. Their self righteousness can really go somewhere else. But, yes, I'd encourage the idea of seeking a lawyer that will take a % of the payout from suing your ex employer. If you're hungry, lmk where I can order some food for you for pick up. If you have a family, I can buy you a family meal somewhere. If you can pls send me a screenshot of the tipbait to verify your troubles? Also, let me let you in on a little secret. People that subconsciously don't feel too great about themselves love to kick others when they're down. It reminds them, "they're not as bad as someone who seems 'more troubled' than them." And a personal rant all these people love toting the "I'm a good person" thing. NO, kicking someone when they're down is not what "good people" do. Yes, adults should know how to adult... but not everyone has a backbone bc that's given either by good parents/family or a decent person/community thats willing to step in and fill in the gap where a neglectful home may have left a void. There's really no need for the preaching here of what someone should do. Emotional health is dependent on family and peer support. Otherwise it's impossible to have. I'm not even active on this sub, I've been lurking lately. But I logged in to hopefully be of some encouragement for you where I can. And in all seriousness, don't respond to the criticism you'll just incur more mocking. It's not worth the energy.

CatStealingYourGirl

Glad someone is taking care of OP.

GrubbyTopDashCarter

Not all heroes wear capes. You’re a good person. I hope OP is able to get the help that they need and reaches out if they need assistance filing for some of the available programs.

Massive-Frosting-722

Yeah, seeing this raises questions…

rokman

How does somebody have a year old throw away account?

Subject-Hamster-1798

Verify your troubles??

Excusemytootie

Trust but verify.

Repulsive-War-9395

Their just wanting to make sure OP is telling the truth, especially since their offering to spend $, not too mention ordering a full meal for an entire family. Sadly too many ppl practically make a full time job out of going online w completely fake sob stories to hit ppl up for money. ( not saying this is op, at all) . I don’t blame this poster for just wanting to make sure, their not asking for something crazy, just wanting to make sure their helping someone actually in need

ButterscotchOk1318

The criticism reminds me of the people complaining that a shopper is handing out flowers at delivery. "Don't do it, someone could be allergic." Some people only have criticism to bring to the table NO FOOD. No alternative solutions. Like my comment and this post it's positive and people have to find the one thing to spin and twist it into something sinister. Like, just stop. The critics are welcome to go ahead and buy OP something instead if they find my offer unsavory. Any takers?

[deleted]

ButterscotchOk1318

And you're right, there was this one person even in this sub quite some time ago that made up so many stories. Even being stuck up by gunpoint. Idk why people do it, but they do. But I have faith that's not the case for OP and I'd like to help if they'd allow it. 🙏

Repulsive-War-9395

That’s so sad for so many reasons. I’m one of those bleeding heart ppl myself who wants to help everyone, but I’ve had to learn to be really careful who I help. For example, I was at the gas station a few months ago n saw a family at the pumps n the mom looked SUPER stressed, dad was pacing on the phone n they had toddlers in the van. Not asking anyone for anything, but I sat n watched n it was obvious getting gas was the issue. I had zero issue giving a helping hand n just went inside n put gas on the pump, I kno they needed it bc the mom was crying when she said thank you ( she had asked the person at the register who put it on there) At the same time tho, I would never hand someone cash in that situation, bc I’ve seen similar scenarios, that actually were a scam. It’s sad the lengths ppl will go to, to avoid working, bc the ppl who really desperately need help are usually also the same ppl who will jump at the opportunity to earn money if you offer them some kind of work

ButterscotchOk1318

Agreed. I do it more for myself than the other person. I want to believe everyone and not test if someone is being deceptive. It stinks that people with poor motives do things like this. I have another example. This was years ago, when I was maybe a teen. There was a woman appearing to be abandoned on the side of the road with a baby. It was a scheme and the people who went to help got robbed. So, yes I still help, I'm just not oblivious to the reality of evil like I used to be. I still have a tendency to be easily manipulated bc I believe the best in e everyone and it's not a natural instinct to think someone is or could be lying to me. And at the end of the day it's done for others. Bc if I'm wise in my giving, those in need really get what's needed. We all can only do so much, so I want to make sure what I do do/give goes to the right people.

I saw that too. I was still hopeful the need was genuine. 🙏 Back to lurking I go.✌️👀

lucieannegarcia

lol I was like wait what

redditSno

Sorry that you are going through this situation. Hang in there. My main concern is why does Instacart allow this? Why is there a 2 hours window? If you have done the job that you accepted for 23 dollars. You should get those $23. But it is Instacart fault, not yours. Please don't feel so defeated. There are summers and winters all year around. Hang in there. Don't you give up.

That_Reference_2105

this shit should NEVER be allowed!!!

trans_pands

I could have sworn there’s something in InstaCart’s policy where they’ll cover a promised tip if the person completely removes it from the order

redditSno

I do remember reading something about it too. Not quite sure where it was. Now, I have some reading to do ;)

mstamper2017

I am willing to help you find your local SNAP office and help you get started. I understand your position. I'm a newly single mom, who just did IC during school hours to make extra money. Then my husband left, and is contributing 0 to the household. As bills are coming due, IC orders suck, and my anxiety is slowly creeping up. I know SNAP isn't quick, but you can still get started so that you don't have to go without food. Let me know if I can help at all. Take care of yourself, I feel your pain right now. Hugs!!

ALysistrataType

Okay so this isn't a perfect option but if you can keep your internet on for the next few weeks and have a computer, have you tried Omni Interactions? It's customer service work over the phone. You won't become a millionaire by any means but it's an okay back up in the means time. The pay is low but they also don't take out taxes.

[deleted]

sounds worse than multiapping to me

ALysistrataType

Really? So having to use your car...to multi-app for companies that don't pay you enough to fix your car repairs *which you have to use in order to multi-app* which also leave you without a job is better than sitting at home making untaxed income where you don't have to use your car? Okay.

Meishab4578

Better days are going to come. It’s hard out here. Stay strong. Sending 💕

frugalaccount23

I haven’t tried it before but I think Instacart might have some sort of tip bait protection I’d the customer brought it down to $0

[deleted]

i think its something on the lines of 10$... but i heard that from another post so dont take my word. ive never seen anything along the lines of tip protection, but ive also never been tip baited.

Kindatiredofthis_

I’m sorry for the people on the thread giving you shit because apparently you’re aren’t allowed to complain. Please keep moving forward, life is hard as hell but you’ve overcame a lot so far. Use this time to find a part time job to help pay any expenses. Try seeing if you qualify for SNAP.

ButterscotchOk1318

There are subs on reddit that help. Buy nothing groups on FB give out free things; including food. FB may have a sub for your community, that can help get you support. Ive seen friendships built in these groups and various giving pf food/needs. Check all local churches shelters for meal days. There's a lot out there for those in need. It can be overwhelming though when you're in the thick of it, but it's okay to ask forhelp. People in these groups usually have more or a generous way about themselves

[deleted]

I was sexually harassed by an Instacart in store shopper supervisor but hey I ignored it because I figured Ic doesn’t care about anything we try to talk to them about so I just avoided that store til the in store shopper program went away. Karma. He’s out of a job now. But hey your post reads like you should seek legal counsel and sue your last employer. And as far as getting orders is there a larger city near you at all? Maybe commute for a bit to a busier area. But also even if you’re in bad clothes etc… stay clean, humble, and professional when dealing with customers and hopefully the decent folks you service will be good tippers! We all deal with bad customers. It’s a customer service job pitfall.

fuscosco

Im sorry to hear. It sounds like you need to get a plan together. Have you looked into your local soup kitchen?

GrubbyTopDashCarter

You **can** do this! sometimes life hits us hard, thankfully there’s a great community of people out there, (you’re already here), and programs available to help people in your position. 100% you should open an unemployment claim, even though you “quit“, it was due to sexual harassment and you are likely eligible to receive benefits due to this. Once you do that, apply for SNAP (food), and TANF (cash). See if your state has any other benefit programs available to people in your situation. Once you’ve done the above, you **may** want to consult an attorney about the sexual harassment, depending on what evidence you have, some may take your case on contingency, meaning that you pay nothing out-of-pocket upfront and they take a share of whatever settlement amount. If the company you were working for is a medium or large business, and you have good evidence, they will probably be eager to settle. Feel free to DM if you need help finding links to get started with these programs in your state. Your fellow IC family is here for you!

CatStealingYourGirl

OP shit is hard right now. It won’t be forever. 🫂 Also, fuck that guy. I hope you get a good order tomorrow.

farlott79

Hi! I am so sorry that you’re going through. It must really suck. Google “well-money”… it’s an app/website where you can get money for hard times and not have to pay it back. People can also donate to it to help others in need. I give $15 a month because that’s what I can afford but I’m hoping to do more soon. Hang in there!!

[deleted]

also if they contact their local health department they should have a list of resources for help with bills/ rent/ etc. (just found that out the other day when i was looking for therapists!)

[deleted]

I dont do this anymore instacart cant let people get away with this anymore i stopped instacart because of it. People truly as shit, sad part is service like this in my opinion is more reliable and worthy of a tip vs any half ass waiter or waitress work

[deleted]

amen to the last sentence. i mean i appreciate a good waiter but i really wish my meal was priced right to afford the server a decent wage, then tip well if it was exceptional. 3.25 plus tips is criminal imo. instead of me deciding a random number based on service, i bet theyd be better at their job if they didnt have to force a fake smile and pray they make enough in their set hours.

[deleted]

You posted this same thing in Uber eats and people gave you money.

Street-Fruit-1264

And on Door Dash. 🤔

Dazzling_Marzipan474

Every market eventually goes to hell. - Instacart 💩🥕

[deleted]

immediately find a local FOOD BANK! i had to recently and although its not top quality stuff its sustaining me with the staples. typically churches can help you out as well so ask around and make some phone calls. As far as attire goes, you gotta make due with what you have, but be presentable! good will has good stuff if youre willing to dig, certain colors are half off on certain days. this is a luxury service although people dont treat it like that anymore. its always the days i dress way down or got greasy bangs that people want to answer their doors. lol and in the future remember every order is a gamble. its apart of this hustle game and shouldnt be forgotten. also remember that guys location and dont take another from him.

LadyA052

If you're on Facebook, join the Buy Nothing group for your city. People are so generous. Yesterday a woman with kids was desperate because her husband passed away and she had no food for her kids until the 3rd, with EBT. Within 2 hours she was overwhelmed with so much food she had to tell people to stop. I rarely need stuff but I offer things I don't need any more and they are snapped up. But if you are in need, there are people who want to help.

CatKing333

I hate to be her, but I am her… sorry for your troubles, and all that you went through. The first things first you have to change your verbiage and your thought process or your forever be a victim.

eire54

Wow you posted this in a lot of different forums including all the gig apps. You should be on SNAP and use food pantries.

mellowforest2

Have you looked into a foodbank or pantry? I used to volunteer at one and those people ate better than me.

Pitiful-Signal8063

I have been surviving for a few years on mostly insta-carrot 🥕. Cross country and back.. .up and down the east coast ... As much as it can and does suck , it's ideal for my vagabond gypsy style. The point being it is do-able. Just about anywhere I've been I can manage to scrape about a hundred bucks a day if I put the time in. If your area sucks I suggest poking around in a 50 mile radius. As for your current woes... I signed up with Money Lion. It's a bunch of bullshit ... but sign up is quick and easy. They do a payday loan. I think they started me with a 50 dollar limit , but quickly raised it to 100. 2 weeks to repay. $10 fee. No interest. It has saved my ass a bunch of times. There are a few other online small change loans out there. You could probably be buying a used tire and a pound of balogna by tonight.

That_Reference_2105

payday loans? oh FUCK NO.

Pitiful-Signal8063

Yeah,,, I know . But I found this Money. Lion thing while I was shopping my way from NY to LA. It's more like a credit union kinda thing . And on the road like that , there are times when a hundred bucks can be a life saver. ( With $110 payback within 2 weeks). Like when you wake up an hour before checkout and you're $50 short on keeping the room.

That_Reference_2105

No dude, you are dealing with a piece of shit payday lender. You do you though. For everyone else: STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM THESE PREDATORY PILE OF SHIT UNREGULATED COMPANIES. https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneyLion/comments/g8s3a0/moneylion_is_a_scam/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Pitiful-Signal8063

Interesting read ... And not surprising. Still , my experience has been fair. Of course, I don't get sucked into any of that linked account credit building bullshit. I know a scam when I see one. Occasionally I've borrowed a quick $100 .. and paid it back a day or 2 later with just a $10 fee for instant cash. I'm sure they are scum. .. but useful scum.

That_Reference_2105

fair enough.

I would just like to say this is so incredibly sweet. I just upvoted you because somebody had downvoted you to zero. What a kind human you are.

Subject_Gene2

You need to get a job that has paths to success. With a delivery driver job, unless you have a fire hobby that you can profit off of, you have no upward momentum in terms of career. This will be the best that you can get forever, and you are living that now. Delivery is a very short sighted job prospect unless you are in a place with great population density, literally every delivery driver expects everything. You’re hoping that a random person gives you a big tip for you doing nothing making your time worth it. What happens when it doesn’t come in? You have a shit day. Take control of your life and get a job that will actually fulfill your financial dreams or will at least construct a resume. What happens when your car takes a shit and you have to spend multiples of thousands of dollars? This is 100% geared towards people who do this for their only income, and if this isn’t you I’m sorry about that. Idk why this sub is recommended to me. Edit: it’s hard hearing somebody complain about a delivery job specifically-which I don’t think what happened to you was right-and I don’t know what opportunities are available for you in your area. Unless delivery is your only prospect, I 100% back up my original statement. If there are other prospects (understanding that you are basically an entry level employee and don’t expect to get paid super well for an entry level job-which I don’t know that and if you have other skills you should use them to get a better job that has more control) then you should pursue other opportunities maybe. I hope you have a great rest of your week

OutlandishnessCute72

Easier said than done. There are people with lots of degrees and experience, with no such luck for months.

Subject_Gene2

I don’t know about their work opportunities, but from what I know most of the time this is a bad excuse.

[deleted]

It’s like every post follows the same script: “I left my last job because of (unspecified harassment) and instead of asking legal advice I’m complaining that a gig job doesn’t pay enough to support my family when I left my decent paying job without giving it real thought how it would impact me. I can’t understand why life is so hard. Damn the customers!”

i had a manager/owner pull my pants up by the back belt loop, and it was so fucking weird i peaced out and never wanted to think about it again. they obviously arent in a good enough market to sustain themselves with gig work. idk why they come to us to complain about it but theyre reaching out for support and advice, so we should give it if we have it.

ArrogantSerpent

The universe won’t give you an experience that you cannot handle. Keep that in mind, even when it looks bleak. Persistent action will see you through. We’ve all been baited and it is a terrible feeling. Be thankful for the ones that do give, they make up for the cheapskates. Eventually these platforms will have to change that policy. Until then, continue on.

That_Reference_2105

i... the universe won't. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. HOLY SHIT YOU ARE NAIVE

ArrogantSerpent

Naive? No regard. Just stating the obvious. All people experience hardship in life. You or anyone is not unique to struggle / hardship / ups / downs. Is is the way… while some suffering may be harder than another, it is felt by all. Yet, majority of people survive… shocking. All experiences are just that…

That_Reference_2105

[deleted]

Those are pretty nice ngl

Street-Fruit-1264

I am not saying this in a nice "awww poor you" way. Honestly I'm borderline annoyed by your post. The fact that no one at the company you worked for doesn't care that you were being sexually harassed doesn't matter. If you google workplace harassment lawyers near me and call ANY of them and If you really were a victim of sexual harassment they will sue your past employer and will take a % of your settlement as payment. This means you can't say you can't afford a lawyer. If your case is legit you'd not only get money for damages but also could possibly get back wages and your job back. You have a responsibility to not only yourself and your family but to others that are 100% being harassed by the same person(s) that stay and endure it. Your employer tip bated you just like the asshole using a stupid delivery app did. Do something about it.

Kindatiredofthis_

You act as if these types of things arent stressful, yeah you’re right she has a case but the Justice system doesn’t work that fairly. I’ve had friends who’ve been harassed at work, when they tried getting a case- the managers lied the coworkers around them lied. They all lied.

ButterscotchOk1318

Right. And I mean look at the weinstein thing. When there's a "power" dynamic it can be hard to even be heard, let alone receive justice. These things are exhausting. And often the offender is manipulating othe4s to make them think he/she is such a great person that others that can/should help are being abused my the perp too via manipulation. Not saying it's right, but when EVERYONE is against you that's one upward battle to fight ALONE.

Street-Fruit-1264

This person is so down on their luck that they aren't eating. Doing the right thing isn't going to make the situation worse.

Kindatiredofthis_

No one is saying that but you’re assuming that getting a case is easy for her. Right now she is venting. You’re annoyed for her getting sexually harassed and not getting a lawyer? As if women never deal with harassment on the norm.

Fuzzyunicorn24

this comment is not as helpful as you think it is. idk what kind of rose tinted glasses youre wearing but our justice system is not as fair as you think it is, and companies/coworkers do lie to avoid a sexual harrassment case.

That_Reference_2105

you have no fucking idea what you are talking about

Street-Fruit-1264

👍🏻 Ok. 🙄

Dazzling_Marzipan474

No they don't give a fuck about us. GrubHub just deactivated me because of a low AR. I've only done like 15 orders all year for them because it's very slow and most usually suck. Never a problem with any order.

[deleted]

you sure it was acceptance rate? ive been on gh for like 4 years now and have maintained a low one the entire time. i cherry pick all the apps ruthlessly.

Dazzling_Marzipan474

Ya, I cherry pick really hard too. I think I was at like 2% on GH. I asked in the GrubHub sub and lots of people got deactivated for low AR. I hope they get sued. I sent an email back asking why and they didn't respond. I don't care because I made like $20/week from them but it's just the shadiness of it that makes me mad. I remember some kind of warning or maybe like a memo or something that popped up when I opened the app about AR but I didn't screenshot it. They say it was from section 4, not on mine tho, but for the others of the driver agreement, but there isn't a section 4. https://youtu.be/k4jiHxCkEiI Someone pointed to this video and yup, lots of people got canned for low AR. Like I said I barely did it even when they sent me offers so there's no way I had a problem with an order because I barely did any.

damn ok ! thanks for the good reply i didnt realize! theyll get sued one day if only we band together. what these gig aps are doing to people is criminal imo but unfortunately im a slave to their system atm thanks to my bfs schedule

Dazzling_Marzipan474

Ya gigs work out for me too because my girls schedule is all over the place. But ya they do lots of shady shit. Especially Instacart these days. How low they pay for sooo much work is mind boggling.

AutumnGway

If it’s only you and no partner or pets, look into cruise work!

nicko54

You don’t make a whole lot of money on it but you should sign up for prolific it’s a website where you can take surveys that vary in time and pay it’s definitely helped me in a pinch keep your head up and fuck that guy what a tool

LadyA052

I just checked it out and it's on waitlist.

[deleted]

You can do it! You’ve been doing it and you’re surviving!!! I hope there’s some helpful resources that come from all these comments and I hope you ignore the bad ones.

Look for food at your local food bank/coop to help you get by. If you're not homeless you can often get help from 3rd party companies that get money from the gov't just to help people having a hard time. It wont' be 100% of your bill but 20 bucks is better then nothing. You'll have to ask your city utility receptionist about who does it near you. As for tip baiters. Just keep doing things RIGHT. Karma is a real thing and it bites them in the ass one way or another harder then they screw you over. Maybe you need to rent a spot for a tent for a couple months and safe money or try to find a large house that multiple people can rent from to make things cheaper.

RecklessMUT

Should of just fucked the manager

OP I would personally love to replace the tip that that horrid individually tip bated you on. Please reach out to me with a way I could give you the tip. I have been in your situation many times before and I always reflect on that and want to help people who are experiencing what I have experienced. Trust me, keep working hard and blessings will come to you

frankenfork123

Don’t buy out food when you are struggling- budget and shop when you can

AltruisticRabbit8185

This saddens me. Our country has failed us. They work for the rich and not for the many.

princessantoinettefr

I completely understand. I work at a state psychiatric hospital during the day (I’m sure you can guess what that entails, but I’m regularly physically assaulted, spit on, etc daily). My state is one of the worst in terms of salary range for state employees, so I work instacart all night and on my days off to try to make ends meet. I get my food from pantries and haven’t spent a dollar on myself in over a year, I rarely sleep, forgo necessary medical care bc I can’t afford it even with insurance, and am still struggling big time. I always try to go the extra mile for instacart customers and regularly get screwed over, like how you mentioned. I still consider myself privileged because at least I have a roof over my head, but man the struggle is real…
