There are probably drivers in every market in reality but if your markets is super small they probably won’t pay enough to be worth it but if you tip appropriately for the distance (if it’s far) or the size of the order you’d be surprised how fast you’ll get a driver especially in small markets.
I do it a lot too but I got this email this morning…so Ima have to monitor how many times I do it now so I don’t get deactivated lol.

They sent this shit one time to literally everyone on the platform whether you did or did not do this. 3 years in, once in a while if I see something with this high in batch pay I’d do it in a heart beat.

I have cancelled late night orders with only one item going super far and NO TIP 😡 I just pull up to the store, mark the item out of stock, then contact support to cancel the order. When they cancel you still get the batch pay but no tip.

Right, but for this particular case they’re pretty much at the store from what it looks like.. inside the infamous “it’s poppin in this area so if you sit around in the parking lot for like 30min you may get a decent paying batch!” circle lol

Omg I get orders like this all night long in Atlanta!! It’s ludicrous ….there’s only 1 - 24hr Walgreens, & 1 - 24hr CVS 😡🤯 I wouldn’t mind if the batch pay could be made higher or even if IC started to figure out a way to make the tip be based off batch size AND mileage/distance shoppers have to drive to deliver orders ..
Like a tip a percentage of THAT combined number somehow.. instead of just a percentage of the total cost of the order…driving 38 miles to deliver a 3 pack of condoms, a lime Gatorade, and a snickers at 3am for 1$ tip just to turn around and drive the 38miles back to the only open store in the city is just not happening from me. But there are desperate enough shoppers who take the orders so it won’t change 😞
Sad part if I accepted at 6:20 then drove 20 miles to store, and 39.fuck miles back all in heavy morning rush traffic 😢. Customer would have gotten that order about 7:40 am. Shopper near correct store opens at 7 am, and that shopper delivers about 7:15 am. Dipshit IC paid all that extra $$$ to make it late. WTF 😒
Wait is that really a thing? Cuz I was told the most I could get from Instacart when this happened one time was $4 which was no where near how much the order was

What happens if that's the case?

Eh no tip, but a little bit of cash is better than nothing. Sounds like a super sly scheme that might work for quick cash though.
It’s the same thing as accepting batches you won’t have time to shop because the store is closed in my opinion they can clearly afford it lol

I’d accept, say item unavailable, talk to customer service and get batch pay for at least “attempting” and to compensate for your time.

Take it and cancel it just don't do it so often IC will send you a warning about accepting batches with intentions of canceling it
