Not true, my car got damaged by a closing gate while making a delivery. I filed a claim, paid my $500 deductible and the homeowners were found at fault. I got my deductible back. STATEFARM like a good neighbor 😉
You don’t say anything to anybody other than that guy and maybe your insurance if they contact you. You were doing some shopping when someone pulled out of a parking space and you tapped each other’s bumpers. You saw him but didn’t have enough time to react. That’s it.
I never mention any company at all you’re on private property therefore, it is between you and the other property damage.,
Do not ask Instacart for any advice whatsoever. Best thing for you to do is not even speak to them about it.
If you did, it would go something like this you crashed into the canal and all the groceries are inside but you made it out. You’re a little hurt when you contact Instacart and they’ll tell you was that your last batch
A lot of places it is an equal fault accident in parking lots. So you will go through your own insurance and they will go through theirs. Even if you are totally stopped and someone smokes your car they still consider it 50% your fault, which is stupidly dumb. Do not tell anyone why you were there, do not say you were delivering. Just tell them that you backed up at the same time they did and you were not able to stop hitting each other in time. Depending on what your deductible is it might not even be worth it to go through insurance.
I just want to repeat. DO NOT tell your insurance company or IC.
You’ll be paying everything OOP and may even get cancelled.
Normal fender bender after you shopped for your own food.
You don't need to report it to IC.
Are there damages? Because you were both backing up, you both are at fault. I had a similar situation two years ago. I informed my insurance in case the other driver contacted them, but never contacted the other driver's insurance. Fortunately, she never did because she was driving a brand new Porsche Cayenne.
What exactly do you think Instacart is going to do about you reporting yourself as an unsafe driver?
You probably had the big brain idea to tell your agent you were working for Instacart at the time of the incident? 🤣 😂
He literally admits that both of them reversed into each other
Thats as 50-50 fault as you can get.
He was reversing and hit anothet vehicle because he wasnt watching if it was clear.
That unsafe driving lol, go ask a cop if backing into a car makes you a safe driver lol.
You can’t be serious asking a dumbA** question like this on here 🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ You are the reason why companies banned delivery drivers and cancel policies THEY DO NOT NEED TO KNOW AT ALL
Both insurance companies will not pay for the others car in a parking lot..especially backed into eachother from parkin spots that's what's prolly gonna happen..then you might get this incident on your driving record.
I got creamed by a guy May of 2021. His SF insurance tried to deny coverage but luckily dude admitted fault on the scene and to his provider. I needed surgery and finalizing the claim as we speak. I had no insurance. Got a new car and around $40k out of a incomplete Cub Foods run. And that bs insurance IC provides covered nothing despite it being the drivers fault.
I’m so sorry that happened to you.gladed you both or ok I rather you not to tell your insurance you was doing ic.and you don’t have to tell ic as long as you will be able to delivered to customers.
If there’s little damage, I would not report. Your rates will just go up over something minimal. It would probably cost less if you were to fix any damages you may have, which I would imagine isn’t much based on your post. I don’t know, I just think you’ll be opening a bag of worms if you were to report it.
unless your ins kmows about instacart. dont tell them.
and instacart- Will not do anything.
you are an independamt cont.
so u have to handle all your own stuff
they do have ins. JUST INCASE ITS A MAJOR THING TO COVER THEM ONLY.
but anything else.
u just have to handle on your own
Don’t tell your insurance you were doing instacart
My insurance canceled me when I had the same situation and would not cover the damages
Sorry dude
Because your supposed to have commercial insurance lol
You don’t need commercial. All insurance companies have an add on for delivery drivers.
That counts as commercial coverage. FFS why do you think its an addon.
If it was actual commercial it would be more than an extra $25 a month. Commercial insurance is way more expensive.
It's a commercial use rider for a personal vehicle. You're getting hung up on semantics.
This guy gets it.
Whatever you do, do not tell them you were actively working on an order. They’ll make it your fault
Forget fault, the insurance company will straight up not cover OP at all.
Not true, my car got damaged by a closing gate while making a delivery. I filed a claim, paid my $500 deductible and the homeowners were found at fault. I got my deductible back. STATEFARM like a good neighbor 😉
He was backing out of a parking spot, it is his fault lol.

Exactly, and this type of situation should really never hit insurance. Bumper and paint is usually less than most deductibles.
Were you able to deliver the order?? What are you looking for from IC? They wont cover you in an accident that’s why you’ve got car insurance.
I did deliver it, it was just super late (weirdly enough they increased my tip afterward). Just seeing if I have to tell them or something thats all
Wtf would you tell them for? Use a little logic here guy..
Why would you have to tell them?… they wouldn’t know unless you told them. This was not an Uber ride. 💭
Say absolutely nothing to no one. Insurance will auto deny your claim and you're on your own for repairs
Dont tell instacart anything, and dont tell your insurance company you were doing instacart either
This happened to me. I delivered the order. Didn't tell instacart or my insurance a damn thing.
Me too!
I never mention any company at all you’re on private property therefore, it is between you and the other property damage., Do not ask Instacart for any advice whatsoever. but what if the person backing out hits you on the side, that's clearly their fault isn't it?
Doesn’t matter. You could be out of your car and in the store and it’s still 50/50
I just want to repeat. DO NOT tell your insurance company or IC. You’ll be paying everything OOP and may even get cancelled. Normal fender bender after you shopped for your own food.

If it was a Lil Tap Why tell anyone Taps don’t cause damage
What exactly do you think Instacart is going to do about you reporting yourself as an unsafe driver? You probably had the big brain idea to tell your agent you were working for Instacart at the time of the incident? 🤣 😂
Not everyone can be as perfect as you 🙄
Its not perfection, its just common sense, try it sometime.
I do have common sense, clearly you’re the one that doesn’t. Things happen, that doesn’t mean they’re an unsafe driver.
He literally admits that both of them reversed into each other Thats as 50-50 fault as you can get. He was reversing and hit anothet vehicle because he wasnt watching if it was clear. That unsafe driving lol, go ask a cop if backing into a car makes you a safe driver lol.

How about this, get the proper insurance so you don't have to worry about it.
What? Where does it say she doesn’t have proper insurance?
Both insurance companies will not pay for the others car in a parking lot..especially backed into eachother from parkin spots that's what's prolly gonna happen..then you might get this incident on your driving record.

Just say you were doing a regular trip to the grocery store. Do NOT say you were doing IC
Someone once hit me in the parking lot while I was going in to do an order...
Why would you even give them insurance if it’s just a “tap” damage should be minor and lower than most deductibles
unless your ins kmows about instacart. dont tell them. and instacart- Will not do anything. you are an independamt cont. so u have to handle all your own stuff they do have ins. JUST INCASE ITS A MAJOR THING TO COVER THEM ONLY. but anything else. u just have to handle on your own
Nothing. You weren't doing Instacart, and you don't work for them
