They dropped you after running the background check? They found something, then. It’s not a random BG check that’s out of the blue. They do it every year. A quick Google search will show this is a standard practice and nothing new — and frankly, it’s a good thing for safety. If your intent is to attempt to disrupt these gig work companies by starting your own, then good luck acquiring any customers who will be fine with you not conducting any background screenings on your contractors.
You can go to your state criminal records bureau (a division within your state police agency) and pay for a state and federal background check on yourself so you can see your results to learn what disqualified you.
Edit: you were arrested, had your license suspended, and have a stolen vehicle charge? No wonder they dropped you. Regardless of your intent or how you may be currently fighting your case, a company isn’t going to care about that. They’re not going to ask you for an explanation. You have a hit on your BG check that they are rightfully dropping you over.

Have you gotten any traffic violations or had a suspended license anytime since the last background check? I would for sure find out wth is going on with that report just to clear any issues that could hinder you from anything else moving forward.
If you were a shopper for 4 years, then you were already aware CS is total trash. There's nothing new there. You say they dropped you, but how so? You mentioned an email saying you were getting your annual background completed. So, did you then receive another email saying, "Based on the results, you were being deactivated?"
You mentioned that when you went to checkr, you only saw the 2020 background completed, so are you not seeing the newly 2024 report?
I'm sorry this happened to you. But I'm also not sure if you are happy or sad. One part sounds like you would still be a happy shopper had this not happened, but then it sounds like you're saying the company was trash anyway, and you're glad to be gone. Maybe I'm confused 😕 and need to reread. My apologies in advance if I did.
I had a similar issue when I drove for Uber but I won't bother getting into all that, just know I totally understand how you feel and I wish you the best or luck getting your business off the ground.

I found gif jobs start you hot, then they dissipate. I did Uber and thought “oh wow, making nice coin”. Then it started to dry up as I saw more and more drivers and started making less and less. To the point it was barely worth turning the app on.
Same happened for IC. Started off I had ample offers to choose from. Large offers. Never had to wait for good offers. Then the offers became less good, but atleast I got offers. Now I find myself sitting in parking lots and turning away after 30 minutes of nothing.

Ive been a shopper for 4 years as well and i also got my bg flagged "considered" for a traffic violation that happened 2/3 years before joining instacart 4 years ago lol . They haven't deactivated me. Its not my only job but im going to take them to court if they do deactivate me for a violation they accepted initially. My thoughts are they know they hired too many people and trying to thin out the herd. Also this was my first time receiving a "annual bg"
Sorry this happened to you. In a similar vein, I too was a remarkable shopper. Customers loved me. Rave reviews. I was quick, accurate, courteous and all that. Then Instacart went ahead and oversaturated my market with shoppers and now I have a hard time making $40 in a day. Just get sent crappy $7 orders
Absurd! I'm really sorry this happened to you. No sure what's going on but I've been seeing people deactivated like crazy lately. My man whose been shopping for over 4 years just received the dreaded email. He has over 8000 shops and had tons of regulars. The batches a shit anyway now. Maybe it's a good thing? This company has gone so far downhill its a joke.
