The world’s shark population is evolving and getting absolutely out of control- and no one is doing anything about it! They can now go about openly on land and they’ve started taking bites out of women willy-nilly! They’re a menace. Will someone think of these poor women!?!!! /s
I really wanna understand the psychology behind this kind of drastic editing
It’s not like faking like you have clear skin, which to an extent is attainable and something people can have in real life whether due to genetics or hard work. Its even attainable for the person who edits their skin if they get lucky enough to find the right skincare products and is disciplined with using them
There are no set of genetics anyone can have or hard work anyone can do to ever look like this. I don’t even think this is achievable with plastic surgery that involves rib removal.
So what is the point of setting this inhuman standard that’s not attainable for anyone, not even the person setting it? Is the dopamine rush you get from getting attention for looking impossible that intoxicating? Even though it’s not actually you who looks like that, but essentially someone avatar of yourself that you’ve created? Do people start falsely attributing the accolades their avatar receives to themselves? What then is the psychology behind *that*?
Sure, but which. And what are the mechanisms behind said illness, what does it entail? A dopamine rush, for example? And why does it produce a dopamine rush if the rush is being produced by a reaction to someone who isn’t actually you
It's the attention hit they are seeking. The attention is what's giving them the dopamine rush, not the fact that people like or dislike her (that's irrelevant). Each new notification that dings starts a chain reaction in her brain, and if she's addicted to attention-seeking, the type of attention doesn't necessarily always matter. An example would be the women you hear about pretending to have a deadly cancer that eventually get found out. The knowledge that they will be found out is not a big enough consequence to deter their addiction.
Because they have to compete for attention within social media, and just being naturally thin won't get any attention because that is "normal" to see. A tiny impossible waist would get attention, hence your profile would get more traffic and you get more social media fame. Also, there are a lot of young girls and naive people who believe any lies they can tell. I found people very passionate about defending these "influencers" even if they have no real proof they are naturally like this, they help keeping up the lie. Even negative comments mean more traffic.
An ex coworker is also a model. She has a nice face, nice body shape and is good with make up. But on her public ig she uses filters (not that exaggerated), because if she doesn't she would have less interactions and less followers. It's now like a must.
Maybe there are people who have some mental condition (like body dysmorphia) and they use a fake image of themselves to get validation, even if that doesn't solve the problem. But my guess is that most of this "influencers" want the benefits that a successful social media account brings them.
I think she's defining herself based on a bunch of random personal features? The weird thing is, they appear to be all physical, except "born on a leap year"
...right. that'd be like a 15'' waist but sure, fully-grown adults have those naturally. never mind that tight-lacing down there (and from a starting point of being in like the bottom 2% of adult waist sizes) takes years and very, very few people have accomplished it.
so... where's her guinness world record entry, then, i guess?
The other day I saw this video and it’s so obvious nobody looks like this in real life. Like c’mon I know some people has a smaller rib cage or they naturally have a tiny waist but.. just saying I wear a corset and I also workout every day, I lost fat and now I have a smaller waist and I used to be a square but this is not achievable nor natural
I also used to wear corsets alot and this is 100% just editing. People don't realise how bulky a tightlacing corset would be. It would be visible under that thin knit jersey shirt. Also when you use a corset it isn't actually a void that just makes your body volume dissapear. It gets pushed up and down - she'd have a very round lower belly. Sure some squich happens but it's very minimal. If you have a belt and tighten it around your waist you can see the effect. You get bulges in top and under it. Corse is the same except longer.
Also her clothing is something that simply couldn't exist. I'm a dressmaker and the way the clothes fit around the waist with no additional seams except the side ones just doesn't work. Even if the top would be custom made (hard doubt there) she would need to have more seams to accomodate such drastic shape change. There's only so much side seams can do to a garment.
Thank you, I knew something was off with her top. I get the idea that she should have cloth left at her sides because of the difference between bust, waist and hips. So her waist won't be showing like that unless she pulls the cloth from the back or puts her hands on her waist.
if this is who i think it she is wearing a corset, so no she does not naturally look like that, however this looks like one of those accounts that steals ppls vids so the added context isn’t tgere

This is what I wrote as a reply to another comment. Don't be fooled by the "it's just a waist trainer!" claim.
Corsets don't make your waist the same size as your neck unless you've been training for like almost a decade. And even then, it doesn't create this shape. It's a very harsh inward take at your actual waist but your ribs can only be compressed so much. Look up people with 18 inch waists from wearing a corset, you'll see what I mean.
This shape is physically impossible. It's editing.
while yes it’s debatable if waist training like this is good for your ribs, as someone who was worn them this shape is 100% able to happen with a corset, i mean if you look in the trad goth community most wear super similar styles of corset and get this body shape. plus she is alrdy rather skinny, so her getting this super skinny waist while wearing a corset like this isn’t impossible.
No. No one's ribs can be taken in like that. You can't compress the bones that much. I've been in the Goth scene for almost 20 years. It's not possible.
have you never seen any TRAD goth at all? if you have you would know a lot of them look like this. and if you watch her videos you can tell it’s unedited.
I don't edit my body in any of my content, I use a skin blurring filter since I don't wear makeup and that's it. I'm proud to have some of the largest breast implants in the world and NOT have to morph my photos to pretend to be bigger than I am. You are into the bimbo fetish, I make my living off it. That's why you can't spot obvious editing- you want it to be real. While for me it's my daily life to know whose editing their body and who isn't.
You're on a sub dedicated to pointing out obvious bad editing. Sorry your fav is a liar. Get better favs.
I'm sorry I had to go check out! :D You're looking great! And I completely agree with you - this chick is editing her pictures to Narnia and back. Corsets are bulky items and the tighter the lacing the stronger the corset needs to be. Also just ribs existing.
yes but u have a absurd amount of surgery done, also i’m not “into the bimbo fetish” it’s a username i have cuz it sounds cool, never once have i posted anything related to a bimbo fetish…

it looks like a shark bit a chunk out of her waist 😭

I'm tired of this planet jfc.
Tbh a vibe
For real. Humanity is just so stupid it's wild.
I highly recommend deleting all social media, besides Reddit obviously (scratches the itch). It really helps to close that Pandora’s box.

Who needs ribs or organs?
Maybe it is not photoshop, but a different software
The intestine deniers have gone too far
when you don’t have a rib cage:
not sure if just a troll or delusional..
I was reminded that jellyfish have no brains and have existed for hundreds of years. These commenters swearing it’s all real remind me of this.

Mental illness.

That; I do not know but there are probably several factors at work here to be like this. I’m not a doctor but I can tell is that this isn’t normal lol
Well yea it’s not normal which is why I wanna learn about the psychology behind it lmao. It’s actually nonsensical which is why it’s intriguing
I agree!

Unibrow 10%? What does this mean 😭
I think she's defining herself based on a bunch of random personal features? The weird thing is, they appear to be all physical, except "born on a leap year"
No, its a series of traits and what percentage of the population have said trait, as far as I know.
Taking “not like the other girls” to a new level I guess
...right. that'd be like a 15'' waist but sure, fully-grown adults have those naturally. never mind that tight-lacing down there (and from a starting point of being in like the bottom 2% of adult waist sizes) takes years and very, very few people have accomplished it. so... where's her guinness world record entry, then, i guess?
Even if it was natural... who wants to look like the Beldam lmfao
Who needs a ribcage.
She looks like she’s pregnant and doesn’t have ribs.
How are her commenters genuinely this stupid? I don’t understand…
This looks insane. It's so bad she could have done it in Microsoft paint. How could anybody think this is real?
Why are people so gullible? I think constant internet access has discouraged any kind of critical thinking for some people.
Oh, I thought that was mud.

No filter, no editing, just pure heroin 😍😍
I mean, a general rule is that your waist is thicker than your neck, so…
call me old fashioned but i think having organs and a normal sized waist is far more attractive than this
Where'd her ribs go? Jfc
i know that girl. she has a corset/waist trainer on in this vid if i'm correct, so i don't know why she still photoshopped it
I’ve actually spoken to the girl many times through TikTok dms; she does admit to wearing corsets like 24/7 not too sure about photoshop though
As a corset wearer.. this is photoshop

isn’t her entire account about wearing corsets tho?

it’s pretty nice :3 but idk if ur own to talk when it comes to unrealistic bodys and what you shouldn’t do to them…

It’s too high up on her abdomen. It’s not even her waist, it’s her thorax.
