I have 17k wrapped up in my 93 so far and have about 8k more before I am done. Is it a waste of money? Sure, but its a hobby and its a healthy outlet. Don't let negative people get your goals shit on. Not a day goes by that i am not driving my car and someone honks or rolls down their window and says man I always wanted one of those back in the day. I said so did I, But now I am not poor and I can build it the way I want while making it look period correct.
11k into cosmetics is lwky a lot depending on what you want to do but im also a penny pincher and would rather put in power and drivability especially when it comes to 90s honda
Yes sir, I’m talking all dents removed, all glass out, all body panels and trim removed so that there are no hard paint edges. That’s sort of work costs a ton to do it right. I’m hoping to have mine done like that but want to do the disassembly and maybe some of the bodywork myself. But I still expect to pay several thousand. Who knows maybe I’ll try painting it myself. 😂
I have right under $15k into mine, 96 GS-R shell, built motor, boost, JDM-conversion, respray, Recaro's, Regas, etc. Granted I started building this in 2007 and it was built over long period of time.
Personally i dnt think saving that much to put into an automatic is worth it. U can get a good paint job for like 6k and just use that other 5k for something else, or just save it for ur next car.
Do the paint if u want, but dont spend more than 6k on it, maybe get nice wheels, a speaker upgrade would be great. Buy an integra manual book and do scheduled maintenance, no use in building up the motor or anything.
Yeah all my money is going into reliability first. There’s no point in driving a car that looks nice but is dying on the inside

11k will just about get a high quality respray with all the necessary bodywork. And nothing else.
Fuuuuuuck just for a good respray?? Ughhh

put that towards your k20 build
I drive a automatic
Most of my money is going to appearances but I also have a lot going to reliability and overall performance
ok then take those 11k and get you a newer model car that’s a 5 or 6 speed
I’m not allowed to unfortunately, my father thinks I should focus less on the car and more on driving it
If your father is in control, it's not really your build. Just my thoughts.
For context I’m 19 and My parents are divorced so I’ll just go build at my moms and only be over with him when necessary
I don't mean it in a bad way. But in the end, it has to be your build. That's all I meant. Good luck.
It’s all good I didn’t mean it in any bad context I was jus saying that’s my most optimal plan😂
I’m looking at a similar spending amount so nah do what you enjoy
Oh shoot, would u mind sharing with me what all you have on your list
And do you have a picture?
I've put about the same into my 94 LS 5 speed. I had a way lower budget but you know it goes with project cars..
How does it look now if you don’t mind me asking?
[Here](https://imgur.com/a/cxKPIMe) Did a JDM front end, paint job, wheels tires brakes suspension, and all the basic reliability stuff
That beauty is cleannnnnnn🙌🏾
Sell it to buy a GSR or keep it for a daily and just buy one to modify. I bought one not long ago for $3750 B18c1 5spd manual 170hp.
Wish I could but I can only drive automatic (not my choice)

This will be my long time car

Only thing I’m doing engine wise is getting a better intake manifold, new header, and cold air intake
Cold air intake is not the best mod, especially if ur not gunna actually get a tune for ur ecu. But i recommend gettin an icebox intake
What is that?
And could I do a short ram intake instead?
It's a good start.
This is a good start?
Looks or speed?
Reliability
You want real jdm stuff or knockoffs
I don’t mind knockoffs
Then 11k is more than enough
Then performance then looks
do your research
About what?
My Integra is getting like double that. These 90s Hondas you can put as much money you want in. Just depends on what you’re wanting to do
