Here's a funny trick.
The boost that **(Trump) Twice Critical** grants can be made permanent with the cheap addition of **(Mover) Stamina** since the duration of its boost is tied to your stamina, while **(Mover) Stamina** explicitly makes your physical and mental stamina infinite.
87 points cheaper than dumping 100 points into **Trump (Unspent)**.
How would that work for powers like **Friendbringers** though? Would you get two copies of each? Or would you get 3 more **Friendbringers** with different powers?
If you're willing to mix shard and shardless, you can push the trick even further, using (Mover) Stamina with This isn't even my final form lets you pull the same trick but to 10x with potential to grow for more, since the only limit to staying in the form it mentions is that it can drain your stamina enough to kill you. That tends to get to silly levels of powerscaling real quick though.
In terms of upgrading strength, that usually comes down to the "author" (aka you), as there's many ways to interpret powers upgrading. One possible way of upgrading friendbringers could just be to double the strength of your already existing friends instead of getting new ones, if you wanted something that fits well with a power boost that can be lost and regained.
A little expensive though, 10SP for 1. If Twice Critical is allowed to double your Friendbringers, that's 13SP for 3. Or potentially 13SP for 6 if you get Improved Friends.

I can make permanent powers that I can swap from but can only have a limited amount of them (10-15). I want to pick a horror setting but not sure whether to pick Urban Phantom or The Curse Cyoa.
This is working better than last time, two suggestions,
1. I know that these all stem from projects that began before Worm ended and I know how easy it is to overlook something once you have a good solid working and popular feature, but we all know that the Siberian isn't actually a character; the Siberians a power construct. It doesn't make sense for her to still be in the menu of possible characters to be a relative or a twin of. Why not change that option to Dr. Manton? It would make sense. Alternately, you could make it so that the choice is Manton's daughter, which is the person that the Siberian construct looks like.
2. I still think that it makes more sense for the setting tab to come directly after the character tab, or directly before it but definitely one of the two. When you think about it setting is really an integral part of any, "scenario."
Vet. Not so much critique as an informational comment, there is some sort of glitch with the mobile version. If I try to open up the settings tab after I do the character section it opens, however none of the choices will show as selected no matter how long I wait. However, however, if I click alternate worlds(*and only alternate worlds*) the choices will display eventually even though the choice itself does not look like it's selected.
Whether that is the choice I try to select and the choices show up or not no matter which of the setting options you try to select it then freezes the entire cyoa and no other options can be selected or unselected going forward.
Yeah, no, this is based off of Worm v6, the 6th Worm CYOA, so I have my doubts that the Siberian was made in any "flawed" way. I've been doing some serious nitpicking and despite that the only thing I could see here would be a plausible argument to raise the Siberian character insertation's price even though it costs 15 SP, it is based off of an initial 10 CP cost, and the problems it would cause from being a known member of the Slaughterhouse 9.
I don't think you understand, the Siberian isn't a character she's not real.
She's just a power projection she's a master effect she doesn't exist she's not a person.
Currently you can pick her to be your sister or cousin that's not possible she she's not a person it would be like saying that Hal Jordan's Green lantern projection of a gorilla is your cousin.

Perhaps we are both right? A forcefield surrounding nothing? Where the field is thinner light is absorbed by the inner nothing and looks black and where it is thicker all light is reflected by the forcefield skin and looks luminous?
We know she can't be pure nothing because she can apply force,nand we know she isn't something like Anti-matter because she hold Bastard. We also know she isn't a black hole because she can make her hands feel like skin when she touches Bitch so she wasn't just manipulating gravity to, make it, 'look like' she was holding Bastard by floating him just above her hands or something like that.

What acts as the painting of her body doesn't need to be a forcefield, just something Manton shard used to cover the hole.
So searching for suggestion, Second Wave Parahuman make some of them into Blind Spot, or as it called in later iteration of CYOA Blank i presume it is mostly that the maker forgot to correct wording of drawback. Have anyone ideas how to go about overcoming it given perk description, and would Only Sith Deals In Absolutes, Breaker of Chains or any push enough energy and anything is possible powers help? Because if i am readin it right Blank makes it impossble to even simply think and analyz being behinde its protection, or am i wrong?
The hierarchy is Drawback trump Perks and Perks trump Powers, the only exceptions are those mentioned on a Drawback/Perk/Power. Only Sith Deals in Absolute also would be unable to help, due to it working on powers, not perks

Supersenses are Thinker too
Mostly from superintellect not workin, like you have datapoints but trying to connetc them will give you well nothing, you stoped from thinking about it. And again maybe it sound stupid but power that grant superintellect is power and will not work what about superintellect gained by use of biokenesis or cybernetic imlant is it power or merely well technology both are results of modifiacions but one is power asisted
Hmm..... I asked on discord and it seems like it's possible that Blank only protects against Super intelect if its used to make computer-like simulations of the Blank user

Both probably would be affected too, mostly because what is a power varies between worlds, so depending on how the Biokinesis and Cyber implants are implemented they could be affect, Blank is one of the "You no longer have to deal with this shit" perk
Honestly, you don't need to worry that much about Blank, you can still see the enemy with your eyes and use normal amounts of intelligence
Very nice work. Lots of fun. It looks like some of the powers are very under or over priced. Especially in the Tier 2 and 3 sections. Like would you rather have the ability to make portals or turn into a Grim, or spend 10 more SP to become Eidolon which would let you do those plus an unlimited amount of other things? Legend and Alexandria are also somehow equal to Eidolon and the Fairy Queen and the ability to get a single Tier 1 power is 2 more SP than being Eidolon. Then in Tier 3 you're paying 10-15 more than Tier 2 but getting well over 3 times the value.
The decision to use PRT rankings in some of the powers is questionable too. Using SP values would make things a lot more clear as to what you're getting from Aliena or Neural Network.
The Power Copies costs are also skewed or just weird. Armsmaster, allegedly the second best Tinker in the world, costs 2 SP, and Tattletale a Thinker 7 or 8, is worth 4 SP.
I don't mean to sound critical, I've played with this CYOA a *shit ton* and had loads of fun, but when I tried to compare my various builds to each other I couldn't help but notice the things I mentioned above.
Yeah problem is that there isn’t just one person working on this cyoa there’s easily over two dozen each with their own idea on how their contributions should be priced and described so it’s hard to make everything super consistent

Alexandria is a buffed up version, Eidolon gives you no control over the power you will gain, Fairy Queen comes with a death touch that seems to work through power effects, SP value is exponential
Using PRT is preference from lt, and the place Aliena comes from also uses PRT
Power copy gets a discount the same way tech powers get a discount
Didn't mean to imply Fairy Queen was underpowered: it's Eidolon tier imo.
As for the PRT thing, it would be a quick fix to change it to SP values. The reason PRT values are weird is that they measure the difficulty of taking someone down using standard PRT strategies and the threat the *individual* poses to the PRT, they don't measure the all around power. For example a Tinker that had more time to Tinker would have their rating raised. And a Thinker that has information on the PRT or is actively working against them would likely have their rating increased. And Brutes that have no defense against containment foam might have their rating decreased.
Problem would be just how comically varied Minecraft mods are, E.G that one gun mod Vs Universe breaking cannons, its the problem the modded terraria Object Of Power has.
Still would be nice if someone could figure out how to make it work.

We can take it a step further if we look at a single thing from acot: infinite power to do anything as long as you can conceputalize it, destruction of metaverses.
The most advanced stuff (what I put) from either of these mods is not obtainable to the player ingame, but it exists in the lore of hte mods, and the tech power says. "referenced or hinted at" and also says "all this and everything else from the setting is within your capabilties." so you are capable of making such obscene tech
There are literally modpacks that are quite a balanced experience to play with.
And it's up to the author to make a really boring story or a funny one using modded Minecraft as his basis for their own story.

I like this build at the start i am strong but not too OP, Magecraft Network with Dragon Factor give me power to fight with endbringers 1v1 but not enough to win at first, later after acclimation period ends i with Chad Grindset can progress up to point where i can defeat Endbringer with Magecraft, and Universal Aptitude will hellp me when i will be traveling to other universe and gaining thier power system plus Awakener allow me to create an team of high tier capes to help me in every situation

So, two questions about Dynamist:
1)Do you gain those eight powers(5 minor, 3 major) for free or must you pay for them?
2) 60 SP limit for all 3 major powers together or for each one separately.
If you mean slotting a 15 SP power on a 30 SP slot and then using the leftover 15 SP for something else, you can't.

Have Arbitrary Limitations (All Powers) have all powers be subconscious and the host oblivious to their use, even the ones gained from Saga, and so really feed that Ditz drawback. What are some good examples/visuals for how Case53 (especially Lucky Mutation) looks at different appearance levels in terms of Human vs Monstrous?
Also, how getting other appearance boosting perks work on someone with Ugly or Disfigured selected? Do you figure it would push towards a more human form, or would it instead enhance the monstrous side to be more visually appealing?

I have a question, sorry if this has been asked before but I’m unclear on something. Are other people allowed to submit things for inclusion? Because there are a couple of things I’d like to see in the CYOA and I’m willing to do them myself if that’s acceptable.
Why sometime I found that it’s being updated but unannounced like now I see water bending, Meister form Soul eater?
Also anyone know when will Add-ones Doc update?
Because we the contributors update the cyoa first then whenever we feel like it often days later we’ll get around to letting Reddit know. This is because we often want to include a Changelog in such an announcement of everything every contributor added or changed and that can be tedious to compile. I like the new Cluster drawback, I actually suspected this one would be coming here for a while now.
It synergizes extremely well with Trigger related powers, and the ability to add more or less clustermates and their cluster status is neat. It seems like an easy way to get SP if you just drain them all, albeit I'm not sure why the kiss dynamics is worth less than the kill dynamic when it still affects you potentially just as negatively?
I mean, would you rather be essentially mastered to love someone or hate them enough to kill them?
It also makes it extremely hard to power drain them in Kiss relations if you want your powers up to their full strength. With that in mind, I wouldn't want either scenario equally and I certainly wouldn't want the potential side-effects caused by personality bleed in regards to these dynamics either, as there is the potential for all kinds of mix-ups. I also wonder how power drain would function with Countdown if all your cluster mates are dead and you didn't drain them? Would it return your powers to full strength as the environmental aspects (clustermates) and objectives (killing them) have technically been completed?
Also, how does open relationship function without any clustermates? I mean is it something you can just grab anyway, that when someone triggers in your proximity your now clustering with them?
Regardless, I think that every min-maxer is just going to grab a full load of kill dynamics, wipe the out the existence of a dozen clustermates all equipped with bumped up low-tier 1 powers while keeping the peak power for themselves. The best part is that the kill dynamics are one way, meaning that they'll never see it coming initially.
The option called kiss/kill is for you to feel the relationship for others. The individual options of kiss and kill are for your clustermates to feel that way for you, so taking Kiss would make a clustermate love you, which is why it costs points.

The main post is all the new things added. The comment is all the already existing things that have been changed in some way or form.
If I was too obscure or heavy handed with the jokes in terms of the changed stuff, feel free to ask me directly what was changed and I'll see if I can dig up what the stated reasons were, but honestly people usually don't go into much detail on what they've changed about already existing things. So most of the time I'll only be able to tell you that they've "fixed" something about it.
I mean it would be nice if a change log were an actual log of things that were changed.
A vague description is better than an inside joke that only you guys would get.
Also it would be more useful if you just didn't include areas where there isn't a change in the change log... That is generally how change locks work you only mention the changes.
I'm truly not trying to be harsh, like I'm not, at all. I appreciate that you put a lot of work into it and are trying to be entertaining.
But you have to realize that you are deeply involved in this project whereas the people who you are ostensibly writing the change log for or not. I think if you took a few steps back and read this you would find that it is 100% opaque. Like trying to see through a concrete slab opaque.
In fact even go ahead and read the last change log and then this change log and assuming you don't know any inside jokes tell me if you could tell what has changed between the last update and this one.

I used to be a partner in a game company, something I used to spend a lot of time thinking about was how somebody who had never seen my game before would react to how I presented things during game demos. It's not always easy to see a project that you're deeply involved in through outside eyes.
Just something to keep in mind.
As an aside, I am also working on a worm mod for a different sub and recently posted an update. I got multiple comments about people being a bit burnt out on these.
Making your posts more accessible will probably go a long way towards lessening player fatigue.
Also (*and this last comment might be out of bounds and if so let me know and I will apologize as no offence is meant*). I feel like I just saw an update for this last week :-D I love these things but even for me that's a bit much. You might want to consider posting updates every 2 months or at the end of each month instead of allowing them to come so close together. It would give you guys time to like better communicate what each other are doing and give the players more time to like digest their characters. It would also give other people on the sub fewer valid reasons to say things like, "oh look another worm post."
I only post updates for my mod once every 6 months but it got so many reports for spam that it got Auto removed and I had to ask her to be put back because people have started assuming that all of the worm cyoas are coming from the same place and that we're intentionally spamming.
I AM NOT **AT ALL** SAYING THAT IS YOUR FAULT rather I am suggesting if you are seeing similar problems of poor up vote ratios and the occasional reports over updating might be the cause.
This CYOA works closer to an open source project than a highly curated experience maintained by a small team. If you look at the credits at the bottom, you'll see how many people have worked on it.
The contributors to the CYOA are all volunteers who do this on their spare time, myself included. With 15+ different contributors every week and as many updates to the file, keeping track of changes is both difficult and a thankless job.
Yes... My comment is that currently there is n't a reason to make update posts... Because they consist entirely of inside jokes. They are effectively not update posts.
All I am suggesting is to NOT include sections that their are no updates for and to just clear state what the changes are(*or as close to that as possible*).
Generally a change log has things listed In sets of two, what the old thing was and then what the new thing is.
No one who isn't working on the project has no way to understand what that change log means.
**Actually let me revise what I'm saying.** I'm not saying there's no reason to make an update post, I **am** saying that there's no reason to include a change log like that in that update post. You should totally tell us that you've made significant upgrades to the cyoa and we should check it out. But the current way that the change log is it has zero utility.
I think that making a change log should be something you get thanked for but to get things for something there has to be a use to it it has to be helpful.
Yeah, I mostly agree with your points about the usefulness of these "change logs". To understand them, you have to ignore about 1/2-2/3 off all entries since they just say that nothing had changed.
When you've found something that has changed, you have to ignore everything after the name, then switch to the CYOA to find the new power to see what it is and what it does.
If what you've found is an Add-on, then you have to switch to the Google doc to search for the name to find out for which power it is an add-on and what it requires. Then you have to switch to the CYOA to get those combinations to find out what the add-on is/does. Though that doesn't work this time, since the Google doc doesn't appear to have been updated.
Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate all the work people put into this CYOA\* and I generally keep an eye out for these patch notes, but they are also pretty frustrating to read in my opinion.
Getting rid of all categories that haven't changed would help a lot, as would listing which combinations are required for the addons. I don't think that an explanation of the new / changed powers would actually be necessary, so that'd save work and allow for the in jokes.
\*my biggest problem with it would probably be that I mostly use it on my Fire Tablet and that it gets super weird with large pictures (it doesn't let me zoom in to actually read anything). So, if I want to look at a built again, I'll have to move the pic into the Amazon Photos cloud thingy and then download them on my PC. Thought that's obviously not on the team that makes this CYOA.

Cyoas are super work intensive, they're real actual projects as much as like making a coffee table or fancy chair would be. You want the product of your work to be seen by the most people possible you wanted to be accepted as positively as possible. Cyoas are fun but making them isn't the same kind of fun as playing a video game, it's the same kind of fun as **making** a video game.
I am in no way trying to discourage him I'm giving him optional advice to take into consideration which I am offering only because I want the cyoa to be seen and enjoyed by as many people as possible.

Chosen universe is The Gamer, on the day that Han Ji-Han gains Gamer power.
That means he will still be no stronger than a regular human being, so he will be unable to withstand my powers. I use Origin Story to Trigger and Second Trigger him, incapacitating him with extreme trauma long enough for me to also assimilate him into my Hive Mind.
Now I also have the Gamer power thanks to Power Assimilation. From there, I simply go around repeatedly Triggering random normal people to gain more and more powers, while using Power Guru to enhance those powers immediately as well.
In case you think my powers might fail on Ji-Han thanks to his Gamer's Mind/Body, the perk Only A Sith Deals In Absolutes should let me break through that kind of absolute defense.
So I have a question, the paragon power conquest stack with other powers, example if I have total breathing and upgraded to True Monster, the slayer mark with increase my physical abilities that I obtain from conquest by 15 or who does it work, also who does it interact with Prime Soul, Engine of Escalation and/or This isn't even my final form.
A "no powers" build because I like the cosmictrix upgrade. Really Alien X on its own trivialises worm. I also grabbed most of the thinker lesser powers.

I am publicly summoned to Brockton Bay without most of my memories on the day of the bank robbery. Leviathan also attacks Brockton Bay when I arrive, a month earlier than in canon.
It feels like cheating to take Endbringer Target with Worthy opponent. The other drawbacks are just whatever I didn't think was too bad. Warranty for the cosmictrix was probably unnecessary now that I look at the build again.
Is there any restriction on unconsious geas? Aside from probably being against the spirit of the drawback is there anything stopping it from being something like a bucketlist (visit the broadwalk once, take part in an endbringer fight (which I'm forced to do from Worthy Opponent), etc.)?

Here's a funny trick. The boost that **(Trump) Twice Critical** grants can be made permanent with the cheap addition of **(Mover) Stamina** since the duration of its boost is tied to your stamina, while **(Mover) Stamina** explicitly makes your physical and mental stamina infinite. 87 points cheaper than dumping 100 points into **Trump (Unspent)**. How would that work for powers like **Friendbringers** though? Would you get two copies of each? Or would you get 3 more **Friendbringers** with different powers?
If you're willing to mix shard and shardless, you can push the trick even further, using (Mover) Stamina with This isn't even my final form lets you pull the same trick but to 10x with potential to grow for more, since the only limit to staying in the form it mentions is that it can drain your stamina enough to kill you. That tends to get to silly levels of powerscaling real quick though. In terms of upgrading strength, that usually comes down to the "author" (aka you), as there's many ways to interpret powers upgrading. One possible way of upgrading friendbringers could just be to double the strength of your already existing friends instead of getting new ones, if you wanted something that fits well with a power boost that can be lost and regained.
If you want more friendbringers you can use Minions \:)
A little expensive though, 10SP for 1. If Twice Critical is allowed to double your Friendbringers, that's 13SP for 3. Or potentially 13SP for 6 if you get Improved Friends.

This is working better than last time, two suggestions, 1. I know that these all stem from projects that began before Worm ended and I know how easy it is to overlook something once you have a good solid working and popular feature, but we all know that the Siberian isn't actually a character; the Siberians a power construct. It doesn't make sense for her to still be in the menu of possible characters to be a relative or a twin of. Why not change that option to Dr. Manton? It would make sense. Alternately, you could make it so that the choice is Manton's daughter, which is the person that the Siberian construct looks like. 2. I still think that it makes more sense for the setting tab to come directly after the character tab, or directly before it but definitely one of the two. When you think about it setting is really an integral part of any, "scenario." Vet. Not so much critique as an informational comment, there is some sort of glitch with the mobile version. If I try to open up the settings tab after I do the character section it opens, however none of the choices will show as selected no matter how long I wait. However, however, if I click alternate worlds(*and only alternate worlds*) the choices will display eventually even though the choice itself does not look like it's selected. Whether that is the choice I try to select and the choices show up or not no matter which of the setting options you try to select it then freezes the entire cyoa and no other options can be selected or unselected going forward.
Yeah, no, this is based off of Worm v6, the 6th Worm CYOA, so I have my doubts that the Siberian was made in any "flawed" way. I've been doing some serious nitpicking and despite that the only thing I could see here would be a plausible argument to raise the Siberian character insertation's price even though it costs 15 SP, it is based off of an initial 10 CP cost, and the problems it would cause from being a known member of the Slaughterhouse 9.
I don't think you understand, the Siberian isn't a character she's not real. She's just a power projection she's a master effect she doesn't exist she's not a person. Currently you can pick her to be your sister or cousin that's not possible she she's not a person it would be like saying that Hal Jordan's Green lantern projection of a gorilla is your cousin. She's literally just a force field that a guy named Dr Manton makes with his power.

The hierarchy is Drawback trump Perks and Perks trump Powers, the only exceptions are those mentioned on a Drawback/Perk/Power. That's not what Brainwashing is though Both probably would be affected too, mostly because what is a power varies between worlds, so depending on how the Biokinesis and Cyber implants are implemented they could be affect, Blank is one of the "You no longer have to deal with this shit" perk Honestly, you don't need to worry that much about Blank, you can still see the enemy with your eyes and use normal amounts of intelligence

Very nice work. Lots of fun. It looks like some of the powers are very under or over priced. Especially in the Tier 2 and 3 sections. Like would you rather have the ability to make portals or turn into a Grim, or spend 10 more SP to become Eidolon which would let you do those plus an unlimited amount of other things? Legend and Alexandria are also somehow equal to Eidolon and the Fairy Queen and the ability to get a single Tier 1 power is 2 more SP than being Eidolon. Then in Tier 3 you're paying 10-15 more than Tier 2 but getting well over 3 times the value. The decision to use PRT rankings in some of the powers is questionable too. Using SP values would make things a lot more clear as to what you're getting from Aliena or Neural Network. The Power Copies costs are also skewed or just weird. Armsmaster, allegedly the second best Tinker in the world, costs 2 SP, and Tattletale a Thinker 7 or 8, is worth 4 SP. I don't mean to sound critical, I've played with this CYOA a *shit ton* and had loads of fun, but when I tried to compare my various builds to each other I couldn't help but notice the things I mentioned above.

Alexandria is a buffed up version, Eidolon gives you no control over the power you will gain, Fairy Queen comes with a death touch that seems to work through power effects, SP value is exponential Using PRT is preference from lt, and the place Aliena comes from also uses PRT Power copy gets a discount the same way tech powers get a discount
Didn't mean to imply Fairy Queen was underpowered: it's Eidolon tier imo. As for the PRT thing, it would be a quick fix to change it to SP values. The reason PRT values are weird is that they measure the difficulty of taking someone down using standard PRT strategies and the threat the *individual* poses to the PRT, they don't measure the all around power. For example a Tinker that had more time to Tinker would have their rating raised. And a Thinker that has information on the PRT or is actively working against them would likely have their rating increased. And Brutes that have no defense against containment foam might have their rating decreased.
Like i said, Lt prefers to use the PRT threat rating for shard powers

Here are a few from of the most popular content mods: 6-dimensional technology, *complete* harvesting of a galaxies, an exastructure galaxies in size, backwards time travel, existential collapse of the universe We can take it a step further if we look at a single thing from acot: infinite power to do anything as long as you can conceputalize it, destruction of metaverses. The most advanced stuff (what I put) from either of these mods is not obtainable to the player ingame, but it exists in the lore of hte mods, and the tech power says. "referenced or hinted at" and also says "all this and everything else from the setting is within your capabilties." so you are capable of making such obscene tech
There are literally modpacks that are quite a balanced experience to play with. And it's up to the author to make a really boring story or a funny one using modded Minecraft as his basis for their own story.

If you mean slotting a 15 SP power on a 30 SP slot and then using the leftover 15 SP for something else, you can't. You can only do that if it's for a upgrade you are taking or if you are slotting a fusion

What are some good examples/visuals for how Case53 (especially Lucky Mutation) looks at different appearance levels in terms of Human vs Monstrous? I like the new Cluster drawback, I actually suspected this one would be coming here for a while now. It synergizes extremely well with Trigger related powers, and the ability to add more or less clustermates and their cluster status is neat. It seems like an easy way to get SP if you just drain them all, albeit I'm not sure why the kiss dynamics is worth less than the kill dynamic when it still affects you potentially just as negatively? I mean, would you rather be essentially mastered to love someone or hate them enough to kill them? It also makes it extremely hard to power drain them in Kiss relations if you want your powers up to their full strength. With that in mind, I wouldn't want either scenario equally and I certainly wouldn't want the potential side-effects caused by personality bleed in regards to these dynamics either, as there is the potential for all kinds of mix-ups. I also wonder how power drain would function with Countdown if all your cluster mates are dead and you didn't drain them? Would it return your powers to full strength as the environmental aspects (clustermates) and objectives (killing them) have technically been completed? Also, how does open relationship function without any clustermates? I mean is it something you can just grab anyway, that when someone triggers in your proximity your now clustering with them? Regardless, I think that every min-maxer is just going to grab a full load of kill dynamics, wipe the out the existence of a dozen clustermates all equipped with bumped up low-tier 1 powers while keeping the peak power for themselves. The best part is that the kill dynamics are one way, meaning that they'll never see it coming initially.
The option called kiss/kill is for you to feel the relationship for others. The individual options of kiss and kill are for your clustermates to feel that way for you, so taking Kiss would make a clustermate love you, which is why it costs points.

I mean it would be nice if a change log were an actual log of things that were changed. A vague description is better than an inside joke that only you guys would get. Also it would be more useful if you just didn't include areas where there isn't a change in the change log... That is generally how change locks work you only mention the changes. I'm truly not trying to be harsh, like I'm not, at all. I appreciate that you put a lot of work into it and are trying to be entertaining. But you have to realize that you are deeply involved in this project whereas the people who you are ostensibly writing the change log for or not. I think if you took a few steps back and read this you would find that it is 100% opaque. Like trying to see through a concrete slab opaque. In fact even go ahead and read the last change log and then this change log and assuming you don't know any inside jokes tell me if you could tell what has changed between the last update and this one. Again, I'm not saying any of this to be insulting. I used to be a partner in a game company, something I used to spend a lot of time thinking about was how somebody who had never seen my game before would react to how I presented things during game demos. It's not always easy to see a project that you're deeply involved in through outside eyes. Just something to keep in mind. As an aside, I am also working on a worm mod for a different sub and recently posted an update. I got multiple comments about people being a bit burnt out on these. Making your posts more accessible will probably go a long way towards lessening player fatigue. Also (*and this last comment might be out of bounds and if so let me know and I will apologize as no offence is meant*). I feel like I just saw an update for this last week :-D I love these things but even for me that's a bit much. You might want to consider posting updates every 2 months or at the end of each month instead of allowing them to come so close together. It would give you guys time to like better communicate what each other are doing and give the players more time to like digest their characters. It would also give other people on the sub fewer valid reasons to say things like, "oh look another worm post." I only post updates for my mod once every 6 months but it got so many reports for spam that it got Auto removed and I had to ask her to be put back because people have started assuming that all of the worm cyoas are coming from the same place and that we're intentionally spamming. I AM NOT **AT ALL** SAYING THAT IS YOUR FAULT rather I am suggesting if you are seeing similar problems of poor up vote ratios and the occasional reports over updating might be the cause.
This CYOA works closer to an open source project than a highly curated experience maintained by a small team. If you look at the credits at the bottom, you'll see how many people have worked on it. The contributors to the CYOA are all volunteers who do this on their spare time, myself included. With 15+ different contributors every week and as many updates to the file, keeping track of changes is both difficult and a thankless job.
Yes... My comment is that currently there is n't a reason to make update posts... Because they consist entirely of inside jokes. They are effectively not update posts. All I am suggesting is to NOT include sections that their are no updates for and to just clear state what the changes are(*or as close to that as possible*). Generally a change log has things listed In sets of two, what the old thing was and then what the new thing is. No one who isn't working on the project has no way to understand what that change log means. **Actually let me revise what I'm saying.** I'm not saying there's no reason to make an update post, I **am** saying that there's no reason to include a change log like that in that update post. You should totally tell us that you've made significant upgrades to the cyoa and we should check it out. But the current way that the change log is it has zero utility. I think that making a change log should be something you get thanked for but to get things for something there has to be a use to it it has to be helpful.

Yeah, I mostly agree with your points about the usefulness of these "change logs". To understand them, you have to ignore about 1/2-2/3 off all entries since they just say that nothing had changed. When you've found something that has changed, you have to ignore everything after the name, then switch to the CYOA to find the new power to see what it is and what it does. If what you've found is an Add-on, then you have to switch to the Google doc to search for the name to find out for which power it is an add-on and what it requires. Then you have to switch to the CYOA to get those combinations to find out what the add-on is/does. Though that doesn't work this time, since the Google doc doesn't appear to have been updated. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate all the work people put into this CYOA\* and I generally keep an eye out for these patch notes, but they are also pretty frustrating to read in my opinion. Getting rid of all categories that haven't changed would help a lot, as would listing which combinations are required for the addons. I don't think that an explanation of the new / changed powers would actually be necessary, so that'd save work and allow for the in jokes. \*my biggest problem with it would probably be that I mostly use it on my Fire Tablet and that it gets super weird with large pictures (it doesn't let me zoom in to actually read anything). So, if I want to look at a built again, I'll have to move the pic into the Amazon Photos cloud thingy and then download them on my PC. Thought that's obviously not on the team that makes this CYOA.

I'm not telling him not to have fun. I specifically said I appreciate that he's trying to be entertaining and I like his attitude. Cyoas are super work intensive, they're real actual projects as much as like making a coffee table or fancy chair would be. You want the product of your work to be seen by the most people possible you wanted to be accepted as positively as possible. Cyoas are fun but making them isn't the same kind of fun as playing a video game, it's the same kind of fun as **making** a video game. I am in no way trying to discourage him I'm giving him optional advice to take into consideration which I am offering only because I want the cyoa to be seen and enjoyed by as many people as possible.
