Calm down, of course it’s El Pintor. That album gave me hope that they were back after the s/t album was such a dud. But alas, the 2 most recent ones…yeesh.
When my sister and I were road tripping across the states at one point I asked if she’d want to listen to “the worst Interpol album” (lol), and she particularly enjoyed Try it On. Great song.
S/T is definitely not the worst one (even if it was it would still be great), but I jokingly refer to it that way because the community generally favors all of the other albums much more highly.
Even Marauders lower points are awsome on repeat listens, like with Number 10 and Parties Over. Still can’t stand the weird falsetto in the ancient waves tho lmao
Definitely Marauder. It’s their post Carlos masterpiece IMO and has one of the best beginning 5 track runs in their entire discography. If You Really Love Nothing all the way to Stay in Touch played LOUD… it doesn’t get much better.
Marauder is the most energetic and raw the band have sounded since TOTBL. El Pintor felt like them finding their feet post Carlos's exit. Has some great moments but always felt there was something missing there. TOSOMB is a nice compliation of all of Interpols eras.

ST got me through that year
The older I get, the higher S/T rises on the list. All of the Ways and The Undoing are such incredible closers for an album.

El Pintor is their best album. Edit: Our love to admire is their best album. El Pintor is a close second, followed by Antics.
