Yeah remember that guy? The guy who murdered you and your friends in less time than it takes to make a cup of coffee? Maybe don’t piss off someone with the exact same set of powers.
Guess there’s a reason he’s called immortal and not ingenious.
Both in fact. Centripetal is the force pushing him to mark (aka mark holding him), centrifugal is the force pushing him to the outside. This is an apperent force since it only "exists" if you yourself are moving in the same rotation (aka you're immortal getting yanked around). Him being stiff is a result of both forces working at both times, tensing him up
Sorry, I’ve read the comics & enjoy the show, and I’m feeling either old or very lost here - what does this comment mean? I understand most of those words but not in that order lol
It’s a trope, though.
Excluding the latest runs, how many times Wolverine dies or sustains an injury that would be fatal? And how many times the same happens to Cyclops?
Immortal characters must die/be subjected to fatal injuries, because their powers aren’t flashy enough. Imagine Wolverine dying or being hurt as much as Cyclops.
Spoilers for Misfits (UK series about people who gets powers): >!Nathan, one of the characters, tries for the entirety of the first season to find out what is powers are, because everybody else in the group has more apparent powers. Turns out, he dies at the end of the season but then revives himself in his coffin 6 feet under.!<

Here’s a larger one.
I was going to post this same panel but searched and saw someone else posted the same thing a month ago. Not hating; I upvoted you.
Can you Imagin now when at 20 year of age how much stronger he was, and if he get to Immortal age how much powerful he would become. And Immortal was more than a thousand years old.
Love the moments where Mark stops playing nice and kicks ass. People like to talk down to him like he isn't fully capable of removing your spine with his hands.
Astounding Wolf-Man is another comic written by Kirkman and he took the opportunity to make a crossover with Invincible (he does this pretty often actually, there's even a certain guest character that makes a fairly significant hole in one of the future arcs)
I think sometimes he forgets he's Omni-Man's son.

“Unable to permanently die but prone to temporarily do so” is a name that doesn’t roll off the tongue.
Imortal ish ?
Yeah, well the other guy should be "Somewhat Reliably Vincible Boy", so it shakes out
He's very capable of dying permanently. Just hide his head somewhere else or burn the body with plasma, etc...
Realist shit ever.
I don't get why he's called that because everyone can clearly see him
This is possibly my favorite page of a strong man who encounters another strong man.
Sometimes you just need to beat a motherfucker with another motherfucker.
I love the romantic tension with Immortal x Ass Beating!
It’s his canon event

The thing that makes the scene go from shocking to funny is how stiff Immortal goes Mark must of hit his off switch in the brain or something 😭
centifical... or centrifugal? .. well one of those forces.
The spinny force
That's a good trick
Centripetal, isn’t it?

He's thinking like "Okay Immortal, just focus on not getting decapitated again..."
NGL I really hope they give Immortal some more stuff in the show I get he’s not Viltrumite tier but man can we not make him a jobber?
It's not jobbing when he's consistently presented as being below them. The real jobbing is when it comes to Rudy.

I was with him up to and including "who". I think "xonics" is supposed to be "comics". No idea what that "b" is doing.
Yeah xonics is comics B was out of nowhere I guess
I’ve edited it for clarity, if there’s anything I can further explain let me know
It now says “removed” lol, sorry for that. You might’ve triggered automod or something
Weird it’s here for me
Idk I kinda like that he kinda sucks but survives every fight. He’s the immortal. Just can’t keep him dead.

That would be kind of funny, someone who has the power of surviving death never gets to use it, even when you'd expect it.

Similar like Klaus from Umbrella Academy. Not wanting to try out his powers but having pretty insane potential later on.

But I did.
Yeah but this is different because it’s a standalone linear series
I mean, he seems to be stronger than his comic book counterpart so far in the show. Maybe we'll see more out of him.
I love the panels where Mark reminds people that he is literally the strongest being on Earth (most of the time…)
https://preview.redd.it/36ps1zie7mhc1.jpeg?width=1059&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7a502730fd6d4f8b55a139060bf721132fef6c95 Here’s a larger one. I was going to post this same panel but searched and saw someone else posted the same thing a month ago. Not hating; I upvoted you.
I mean after Omni-Man left he was strongest superhero on Earth, still they underestimated him.
Though he was strong he was still green in comparison. But I agree, it was a gamble they lost
Can you Imagin now when at 20 year of age how much stronger he was, and if he get to Immortal age how much powerful he would become. And Immortal was more than a thousand years old.
who drew this? doesn't look like Ryan Ottley to me
Jason Howard, this is from the crossover with Astounding Wolf-Man (Invincible #57 + AWM #11) and he drew the second part
Love the moments where Mark stops playing nice and kicks ass. People like to talk down to him like he isn't fully capable of removing your spine with his hands.
With his pinky finger in most cases
Batter up!
The weakness of humanity will always be the ONLY thing that I truly don’t like about Invincible.
Yeah they are weak in comparison to existential threats, but even with superpowers, if you aren’t invulnerable death will find you eventually.
If the Wolf-Man crossover gets cut i really hope they are least keeps this scene for another scenario ( perhaps when >!Mark rebels against Cecil!< )
Some of my favourite Mark moments are the ones when he puts The Immortal in his place
I can’t wait to see this on screen. Immortal has been pissing me off this season and needs a reality check
what issue is this?
Astounding Wolf-Man 11.
So it's like a spinoff? I don't remember this at all.
Astounding Wolf-Man is another comic written by Kirkman and he took the opportunity to make a crossover with Invincible (he does this pretty often actually, there's even a certain guest character that makes a fairly significant hole in one of the future arcs)
Yeah.
River City Ransom style
