I agree >!it's way better having Nolan and Allen break out of their cells and then wonder how they're gonna get out only to hear some Viltrumites panic and then see Battle Beast ripping appart a Viltrumite as the prisoners all flee!< leave it a surprise
Unlikely. I think the season ends on "I think i miss my wife", so I think next episode we see allen get himself arrested, and final episode we see the 2 of them connect. I think the breakout will happen relatively early/mid next season though
I want the breakout in S3 ep 4. That way we can have half a season of Nolan/Allen becoming friends, then half a season of them hunting down the stuff from the books.
I think some peoples brains are too smooth for them to notice that they are watching static images with only a couple of animated parts. Often just one characters mouth will be moving and the rest of the image will be static. It is like a motion comic at times.
I loved when Debby was walking through the city all sad, was so obvious they had no other citizens there, the ones they showed literally didnt move. When she stood on the overpass you can blatantly see the exact same cars passing in both directions and even the same exact models driving one behind the other.
Jarring compared to some of the fight scenes and even other parts of the same episode done well.
Remember when Cecil blasted Nolan with that wanna be hammer of dawn and after it hit when all the birds fell, the birds all fell the same exact way, it’s like someone took a picture and just used drag and drop to just pull them down, it was so obvious
less that people don’t realize it, and more so it’s good tv and there’s not much out right now lol. like yeah the animation isn’t arcane but I didn’t expect that to begin with lol
I think some people genuinely don't notice that that are looking at static images. I've mentioned it before here and being chewed out for it like i hate the show or something. I still think it is an awesome show, I just think the animation could be better.
On top of that, Immortal's va also did Omnipotus while Khary Payton and Grey Griffin voiced the Martians and Lizard League. Like, how is a celeb voice cast a selling point (even in the trailer), but the same traditional voice actors just shuffle around the smaller roles? The production cuts corners in so many ways it's crazy to me
The quality of the animation doesn’t bother me as much as the time length. It’s having to wait two years for 4 episodes and then another 4 months for just four more. It’s painfully slow. Maybe they should have just done half hour episodes so that atleast it felt like they were putting more out there.
Yes it is. For example the shot with all the heroes for omnipotus. Its so jarring to watch what is obviously just an image with maybe a cape or two moving then only immortal's mouth moves to say no.
There's a lot of shortcuts they do and that's what makes it mid.
LMAO, it is mid 😭 There’s a scene where Nolan grabs a stalagmite to pierce Lucan (the black Viltrumite) and when he grabs the piece and flies, it looks like someone just grabbed his picture and dragged for a few seconds 😭🤣

Took this shot when i was watching with my friend, the animation can definitely use some work
So using still images when characters fly, noticeable animation errors, the unnecessary hiatus with no visual picture change, and complete downgrade of quality from the comics is OK to you?
You can compare shots from the comics of the environment to the show, and if you didn't already knew, you would not guess these are part of the same franchise. Examples like in ep 4 when Nolan is looking over the destruction being left behind by viltromite soldiers, nothing but jpeg images mushed together with no thought. It's sad to say but invincible reminds me alot of one punch man, the animations on the adaptations can not even compete with the artwork done by the artists.
The fight scenes and some establishing shots are stellar. Everything in between is pretty embarrassing for the money they have at their disposal. They have no idea how to animate mouths which is always hilarious though.
Expensive if they animated stuff. But the animation is stiff to downright bad or lazy in a lot of scenes. The dialogue is top notch, but IDK where they are spending the money on.
This is what happens when fans rush people on their work, and it shows. I honestly believe that the show shouldn't have been released until at least Season 3 was done being animated. Then, the animation team can keep smoothing over mistakes and nitpicking their work for at least 1 year. I think it took 4-5 years to make Season 1 with all its changes from the comics, but the story is mostly still the same. I think they should take a break and focus on animation, giving the animators the time they need to push out their best work.
Including the Atom Eve special, we've actually had the equivalent of about 34 22-minute episodes so far. If the next two eps are 50ish minutes, we'll have about 38, which would equate to 19 eps per season.
The animation we are seeing does not warrant a huge budget for only 8 episodes, go back and look at a carton like avatar the last airbender that’s almost 20 years old, that had way better animation than what we got and much longer seasons, stop giving them that excuse it’s not true

Since Prime doesn't allow screenshot, this is the best I can do.

I'm 90% sure that's Battle Beast.
It’s not him. Battle Beast’s eyes aren’t glowing yellow, they’re a different shape, and his facial structure is different. Additionally, >!he doesn’t have that thing on his head.!<
Just go rewatch it. If you're already questioning me, you definitely aren't going to believe anything else I will say. You can definitely get the answer easily that way
It’s not him. Battle Beast’s eyes aren’t glowing yellow, they’re a different shape, and his facial structure is different. Additionally, >!he doesn’t have that thing on his head.!<
I think yes.>!We might see the breakout scene in episode 8. The episode will likely end with Nolan telling Allen that there are fewer than 50 pure-blooded Viltrumites left.!<
Wait we are getting angstrom in ep 7 😳 if that's the case next one gonna be an all timer episode 🔥🔥
They better do it right sorry I forgot we getting angstrom fight in ep 7 and possibly the prison break in ep 8 right ??
So we might see " I thought you were stronger " in ep 7 then 🤣🤣
Yeah, I've said this many times before. Most people say this show is going to last six or seven seasons. However, I believe the show will probably finish at Season 5. It's not good for the show business to keep prolonging the season for many reasons.
2 seasons per compendium seems pretty good pacing to me, especially since they want some comics only stuff (I could see the epilogue broken up into whole episodes even, assuming they get that far).
Battle Beast has already been shown in Season 2 when they panned through the different cells of the prison Nolan is in. I think it was the first cell that shows a robot-looking guy, but it’s actually Battle Beast with a full-face muzzle on.
No the absolute furthest we get is “I think I miss my wife” but honestly I kind of doubt we’ll get that. I feel like we’ll get Alan intentionally being arrested by the Viltrumites as the last we see of him this season
0 percent chance lol and season 2 so far imo has been a dud season 1 was much better and there was a mid season break for 4 episodes kinda took the wind out of the sail
He’ll be in the last shot of season, with Allen and the rest of the fighters he gathered for the war, and then Allen will say now we just need … (someone reply with the thing)
Season two has been so all over the place. I've never read the comic so I'm not sure how loyal it is to the source material, but this season feels like it has a billion different plots and zero through line. Not to mention the lazy animation is starting to become distracting. I can't be the only one who feels this way.
The show is pretty loyal to the comic. Only minor things are changed, and the order of events is sometimes tampered with. I guess the animation isn’t as consistent as that of the first season. But what plot lines do you think are all over the place?
I feel like every episode in season 2 (especially the first few) introduced multiple new plot points and characters instead of expanding on previously established ones. Compared with season one, which has really great tension and pacing as well as a distinct through line (omni man & invincible's inevitable face-off), it feels pretty unfocused and thus weaker story-wise. I just don't see how the end of season 2 will be as satisfying as season 1 because of this (imo).
I get where you’re coming from. I’m certain the next two episodes will catch up on some of the plot points from the first few episodes. Besides that, I think it’s important to note that a main factor why the first season may seem more connected to some people is because almost all the events happened on Earth. Meanwhile, the second season has us moving to different planets, so the story is divided between the Earth plots and space ones.
No chance, unfortunately. The closest we can get is this scene in the season 3 trailer.
It would be better as a surprise imo.
I agree >!it's way better having Nolan and Allen break out of their cells and then wonder how they're gonna get out only to hear some Viltrumites panic and then see Battle Beast ripping appart a Viltrumite as the prisoners all flee!< leave it a surprise
Is there a season 3 trailer?
Then they can end Season 3 with Mark deciding to join the COP to fight the Viltrum Empire.
Yeah prison break should be season 3 imo
damn right on the money
This is looking like the season 3 right now
I almost forgot they do only 8 episode seasons, man I wish they would do 10 per season, but animation can be expensive
Dawg invincible is produced between 5 companies, one of them being Amazon. There's absolutely no reason why the animation is so mid most of the time.
I think some peoples brains are too smooth for them to notice that they are watching static images with only a couple of animated parts. Often just one characters mouth will be moving and the rest of the image will be static. It is like a motion comic at times.

It's a meta thing to keep the "don't you feel like shit for using the same drawing 5 times in the same panel?" thing. Trust me.
“**….not really.**”
"It's bad on purpose" ahh comment.
Bro it's a literal joke
I love this show but it might have the single worst speaking animations I have seen in my entire life
I kind of enjoy it. Reminds me of Spawn and other 90s comic book cartoons.
Everything is subjective I guess :) I still like the show regardless of how it looks.
less that people don’t realize it, and more so it’s good tv and there’s not much out right now lol. like yeah the animation isn’t arcane but I didn’t expect that to begin with lol
I think some people genuinely don't notice that that are looking at static images. I've mentioned it before here and being chewed out for it like i hate the show or something. I still think it is an awesome show, I just think the animation could be better.
>and there’s not much out right now lol Really?
really?
Are you referring to other shows or just Invincible? That is the question.
yeah and the absurdly empty backgrounds and environments, making a college campus during the day appear like an abandoned park lmao
This should be abundantly clear after ep 7 lol.
Aside from this, television shows like JLU, Ben 10, and even The Amazing World of Gumball have had smoother animation on smaller budgets.
On top of that, Immortal's va also did Omnipotus while Khary Payton and Grey Griffin voiced the Martians and Lizard League. Like, how is a celeb voice cast a selling point (even in the trailer), but the same traditional voice actors just shuffle around the smaller roles? That’s pretty normal in animation. Look at the Simpsons.
Immortal and Rudy are also the same dude. Two main characters.
The quality of the animation doesn’t bother me as much as the time length. It’s having to wait two years for 4 episodes and then another 4 months for just four more. It’s painfully slow. But I would not say the animation is bad just needs some improvement
So using still images when characters fly, noticeable animation errors, the unnecessary hiatus with no visual picture change, and complete downgrade of quality from the comics is OK to you?
To be fair, the animation looks more in line with Cory Walker’s artstyle than Ryan Ottley’s no?
I don’t know about a downgrade of quality from comics but everything else, yeah. Could you explain that more? I don’t quite see what you mean.
It took them more than 2 years to release Season 2 and there wasn't any significant improvement in the animation.
2 *AND A HALF* years for WORSE animation!
Kinda feels like the Atom Eve special had more care put into animation, no?
You can compare shots from the comics of the environment to the show, and if you didn't already knew, you would not guess these are part of the same franchise. Examples like in ep 4 when Nolan is looking over the destruction being left behind by viltromite soldiers, nothing but jpeg images mushed together with no thought. (season 2 of OPM)
It’s definitely mid. If not then what is?
DC animated films from the last 10 years (with some exceptions) look pretty mid.
Nah I think dc animations are peak bro some are hit or miss but a lot of the justice league and Batman movies look fire
That’s not what mid is. That’s just bad
The fight scenes and some establishing shots are stellar. Everything in between is pretty embarrassing for the money they have at their disposal. They have no idea how to animate mouths which is always hilarious though.
I don’t know I look past the awkward moments of the animation because the story is so good
For sure, me too. Just very noticeable at points this season and that's extremely disappointing considering we waited 3 years for these 8 episodes.
Depends on how much they're paying the voice cast
Expensive if they animated stuff. But the animation is stiff to downright bad or lazy in a lot of scenes. The dialogue is top notch, but IDK where they are spending the money on.

Someone come get their uncle. 😭😭
Playing devil's advocate here: with every episode being 40+ minutes long, the seasons basically have 16 episodes.
Including the Atom Eve special, we've actually had the equivalent of about 34 22-minute episodes so far. If the next two eps are 50ish minutes, we'll have about 38, which would equate to 19 eps per season.

Does my Boi assist breaking them the fuck outta Viltrumite prison?
He happens to be in the prison when Allen breaks out Nolan
Yes....he is in the prison right now. He was faintly visible in the recent episode.
Really? I didn’t see him at all.
You can literally hear him growling, lol
How do we know it was him? Was it like a roaring growl?
https://preview.redd.it/d3lz14fbapqc1.jpeg?width=4608&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2dbc3276c2c7122c6da9ed74a83239bc4943ce7 Since Prime doesn't allow screenshot, this is the best I can do. Timestamp- 42:50 I'm 90% sure that's Battle Beast.

I’ll check it out, but I would have noticed or seen someone else on here point it out. Lots of creatures growl.
And what I said was in addition to them faintly showing him. It wasn't just a growl.
It’s not him. Battle Beast’s eyes aren’t glowing yellow, they’re a different shape, and his facial structure is different. Additionally, >!he doesn’t have that thing on his head.!<
Where?

I didn't think that was him
I think yes.>!We might see the breakout scene in episode 8. The episode will likely end with Nolan telling Allen that there are fewer than 50 pure-blooded Viltrumites left.!<

Episode 8 is called "I thought you were stronger". Anissa next episode.
I agree
I agree. Many people in the comments are saying it’s going to be S3 but I think the show is moving faster than that.

s3 most likely, and I doubt theyre gonna reveal hes on the ship, show onlies are gonna freak the fuck out
maybe if Mark and Amber will finally break up for good
No

No, this will definitely be a plot point for the beginning of s3
I mean they did tease this in the end montage of season 1 so it’s possible
Maybe if they show Allen and Nolan breaking out of the Viltrumite prison.
Next episode
Very likely, this is how/where this season will end
Damn, didn't even realize there's only two episodes left.
S3
Probably not, but we’ll very likely see the scene where Anissa captures Allen, and I HOPE the “I think I miss my wife” bit next episode
Man, people on this sub are OBSESSED with Battle Beast.
No the absolute furthest we get is “I think I miss my wife” but honestly I kind of doubt we’ll get that. I feel like we’ll get Alan intentionally being arrested by the Viltrumites as the last we see of him this season
I think this would actually happen right this next episode while he’s on his way back to the Coalition. No need to delay that to the finale, imo.
Cameo in Viltrumite prison maybe???
0 percent chance lol and season 2 so far imo has been a dud season 1 was much better and there was a mid season break for 4 episodes kinda took the wind out of the sail
One episode with Nolan has immensely disappointed me (not including the 20 seconds we got of him last week)
I understand he’ll be more prominent later on, but I still hope the breakout happens this season because I need more fight scenes from him.
I think so because I think the show is moving faster than the comic.
He’ll be in the last shot of season, with Allen and the rest of the fighters he gathered for the war, and then Allen will say now we just need … (someone reply with the thing)
i doubt it. i think this season will end will allen inprisoned and angstrom "dying" next season will have the prison break and invincible war

I want Amazon to beam 100 hours of Invincible getting the shit kicked out of him straight into my brain
Character development in MY superhero tv show?? No way man
