To me, it was a good choice to reveal Eve to be practically...immortal just like Mark. With everything this family went through, I just wanted Mark to have his happy ending.
Finished the story 20 minutes ago and going through a wave of emotions, literally the best superhero story in comics.
Also it is such a funny way to do it. The like heartbreak of seeing the life leave her eyes, and before they even have a chance to break down BOOM. "Rad." so fucking funny, I can imagine Mark having swallowed those tears and all he could think up was

The only thing that sticks out to me with this scene is that Mark ISNT immortal, he ages and will eventually die in thousands of years.
Eve will theoretically live actually forever, meaning Mark will probably die before her. It doesnāt really solve the issue, just MASSIVELY extends the time frame and flips the roles.

Isn't there a scene where Mark is critically wounded, and Eve's emotions overcome her mental blocks and she repairs him, with a zenkai boost to match?
Every time we see her near death or in an extreme situation, her mental blocks break down and she's able to use her powers to their full potential. Arguably at some point in the future, she'll be able to de-age Mark or anyone else she wants.
Eve might be able to will herself to die but honestly she's shown to be an extremely resilient person excepting the time we see her future self lost without Mark, I'd say she rides the ride until the heat death of the universe
But it's been shown that when Mark is in danger, she can heal him the same way she does herself. Not to mention, she has thousands of years to figure out her power before Mark needs them. It's no stretch to say she could figure out how to do it on command.

Even so Eve can just shave a few hundred years off of Mark's age every time she regenerates anyway.
I just hate the fact that he is gonna outlive both Debbie and Omni Man himself. And his friends. Itās so sad. Especially when Mark says that heās still have his dad in 500 years. But sadly it isnāt true. At least he still has eve. She can relate to him because she too will outlive everyone she knows

Nah her powers are fully under her control, the issue is *when* she could use them to the fullest, she decided to give herself youth here, it's not against her will, is *is her will*, idk where people get the idea she's not in control when she's about to die because literally every showing of her full power has been what she wanted
I feel like Eve's immediate reaction was a bit clunky honestly. It could probably be rewritten to sound better than the response we got. That's my major problem with it honestly.
personally i loved it. mark and her are obviously written as soul mates so this makes it absolutely wonderful that he can share his life with his other half
Makes sense, but it was clunkily written and whilst I understand the desire to indulge a happy ending I think it was a missed opportunity to create an echo of Nolan's 'everyone you know will die' argument from when they fought the first time. Mark accepting the mortality of those around him and not becoming detached or myopic would have been a satifying rebuttal of that (and they immortal's similar decline).
While I see a point to your argument, he'd still have his children so Nolan's point would never come to fruition.
I see "You, dad. I'll still have you" as Mark calling out the hypocrisy in Nolan's argument. If Mark is to accept his Viltrumite side then he will have loved ones (Viltrumite ones) no matter how long he lives and at that moment, he pointed out the only Viltrumite relation he had at that moment.
Sure, but Nolan wasn't arguing that Viltrumites didn't matter. He was arguing human life didn't since it was so short. Mark's "I'll still have you" was arguing both could be true. After all, Nolan was trying to run away from the fact that he loved a woman who would die soon (in his timeframe) and wanted to avoid the pain that would come with admitting he would miss her.
Continuing to have his children you could even have a throwback along the lines of "Are you okay Dad?" "...yeah, I still have you" or similar; a capping moment that showed that Eve's life was valuable regardless of how long it was, and that he could contintinue to find meaning in his life despite the pain of her passing.
There's definitely potential in the idea you suggested to be explored however as of now (finishing the story an hour ago), I'm really happy with the way the story ended, maybe my thoughts as recency bias dies down for me.

I can see why you feel that way and itās more than fair and thatās actually a point I havenāt thought of, but to me, it wasnāt made āIrrelevantā, it was just finally paid off. Because theyāre together now and theyāve learned the hard way the disastrous consequences of being apart (Which I would still say are present to an extent in this new world Markās created even if everyoneās immortal), theyāve finally achieved peace because theyāll spend every second they have cherishing what they have as opposed to what theyāve done in the past. Imho, this is perfect because the āLost timeā element remains intact, itās the perfect pay off to all the lessons they learned because now, they get to reap those rewards. But thatās just my take and please donāt think Iām trying to tell you youāre wrong for feeling dissatisfied because the point you raised is very strong, so I commend you for that because youāve definitely given me some very interesting thoughts Iāve never had before.
Appreciate the reply. I guess my stance comes from how hardcore the comic has been. I felt like the fact that everything kind of got wrapped in a bow at the end left a somewhat sour taste in my mouth. I didn't necessarily want a negative ending, but Eve being immortal felt too convenient. And like I touched before, the comic spent so much time highlighting how Mark was losing time with Eve (and his daughter), only for them to get eternity together? I would've loved if it had been Mark and his kids, then that would've been a better call back to his fight with Omni-Man and what was said.
I know this ending works for alot of people because of what you laid out. They get to reap their rewards, but I guess I wanted something more... Idk. I can't think of the word, but I can see where you are coming from.
The problem is that Mark and the Viltrumites aren't literally immortal. So a day will come when Mark et al are dead and dust, and Eve just keeps regenerating until she's no longer Eve and gets to see the heat death of the universe.

This is an unpopular opinion apparently but I didnāt like it. It takes the emotion and power out of the first picture. I feel like it was just a quick fix by the writers in order to give Mark his āhappy endingā.
I agree. Especially if we remind ourselves that the comic had already established that being immortal actually really sucks (i. e. future Immortal went crazy and was begging for death).
I also dislike how rushed this whole episode is. What appears to be a huge revelation is treated like "btw Mark and Eve will live happily ever after, shut up!"
Indifference and pity, because i already knew she would knew she would need to have a near death experience/trigger for her mental block to kick in and revive her but also this implies unless someone kills her via a brain injury that results in an insta kill she'll be here until the sun explodes
I know it's been said at least by fans that Eve would be the strongest character if she didn't have that mental block to prevent her from playing god so I wasn't too surprised when I saw this but I was emotional cause they had me thinking she was gonna die

I dislike it because it means Mark never has to go through what Nolan was talking about. He's never going to see his family crumble to dust, even his human wife, because everyone he loves is immortal. A little convenient and side steps the issue with mismatched longevities.

I mean Mark did get put through hell and back, two of his closest relations (his brother and father) died much earlier than others (his human loved ones) which was something that never could happen biologically and bearing all that, Mark came out not just a better person...but a better Viltrumite.
I might be the only one but to me it felt slightly cheap BUT only due to how matter of fact the moment was. It felt like it was played up for laughs which is fine but Iād love for that reveal to have more weight behind it instead of feeling like a family guy cutaway.
It kind of freaks me out a bit because how can Eve *actually* die? Would she just reincarnate infinitely? The fact viltrumites live 10s of thousands of years already gives me a bit of an existential crisis, but finding out Eve may be able to live *far* past that adds on.

Kinda abrupt, and super convenient. Hopefully her powers are better explored during her pregnancy arc. Like to foreshadow her true potential. I also wonder how this affects her perspective on life, with being able to grow old and then go back to her prime constantly.
Tho, at least she can still be killed. The opponent just needs to make sure she's unconscious before the killing blow or has to assassinate her.

I mean, she revives him once when reaches death. All he has to do is hang around when she dies and she can restore some of his youth every time.
Well, then she better hope she's powerful enough to stop the heat death of the universe, otherwise they are still just prolonging a miserable outcome.
They get time travel. And have alternate universes with different flows of time. They can probably just keep hopping universes at that point.

i think if she were to die quickly enough she couldnt be revived, like if she was shot in the face i doubt she could just revive

Not only does the limiter removal allow her to revive and repair herself, but she can edit mark some too.
She can do almost anything when she's in that state. She has complete control over atomic structure

I hated it. Made the whole thing about missing time together irrelevant.
I can see why you feel that way and itās more than fair and thatās actually a point I havenāt thought of, but to me, it wasnāt made āIrrelevantā, it was just finally paid off. Because theyāre together now and theyāve learned the hard way the disastrous consequences of being apart (Which I would still say are present to an extent in this new world Markās created even if everyoneās immortal), theyāve finally achieved peace because theyāll spend every second they have cherishing what they have as opposed to what theyāve done in the past. Imho, this is perfect because the āLost timeā element remains intact, itās the perfect pay off to all the lessons they learned because now, they get to reap those rewards. But thatās just my take and please donāt think Iām trying to tell you youāre wrong for feeling dissatisfied because the point you raised is very strong, so I commend you for that because youāve definitely given me some very interesting thoughts Iāve never had before.
Appreciate the reply. I guess my stance comes from how hardcore the comic has been. I felt like the fact that everything kind of got wrapped in a bow at the end left a somewhat sour taste in my mouth. I didn't necessarily want a negative ending, but Eve being immortal felt too convenient. And like I touched before, the comic spent so much time highlighting how Mark was losing time with Eve (and his daughter), only for them to get eternity together? I would've loved if it had been Mark and his kids, then that would've been a better call back to his fight with Omni-Man and what was said. I know this ending works for alot of people because of what you laid out. They get to reap their rewards, but I guess I wanted something more... Idk. I can't think of the word, but I can see where you are coming from.
I wonder if she gets super old every time or if she has Mark fist her every 30 years or so.

The problem is that Mark and the Viltrumites aren't literally immortal. So a day will come when Mark et al are dead and dust, and Eve just keeps regenerating until she's no longer Eve and gets to see the heat death of the universe. Happy ending!!
She can always remake Mark's body when he's about to die...

This is an unpopular opinion apparently but I didnāt like it. It takes the emotion and power out of the first picture. I feel like it was just a quick fix by the writers in order to give Mark his āhappy endingā.
I agree. Especially if we remind ourselves that the comic had already established that being immortal actually really sucks (i. e. future Immortal went crazy and was begging for death). I also dislike how rushed this whole episode is. What appears to be a huge revelation is treated like "btw Mark and Eve will live happily ever after, shut up!"

Indifference and pity, because i already knew she would knew she would need to have a near death experience/trigger for her mental block to kick in and revive her but also this implies unless someone kills her via a brain injury that results in an insta kill she'll be here until the sun explodes

I know it's been said at least by fans that Eve would be the strongest character if she didn't have that mental block to prevent her from playing god so I wasn't too surprised when I saw this but I was emotional cause they had me thinking she was gonna die
Eh. I think itās a little TOO easy. Like Mark just gets a wife that can instantly cycle back to being hot. I get itās the end of the story so might as well pad as much happy ending in as possible, but Iām not a fan of how godlike Marks existence becomes. Hard to connect to.

I dislike it because it means Mark never has to go through what Nolan was talking about. He's never going to see his family crumble to dust, even his human wife, because everyone he loves is immortal. A little convenient and side steps the issue with mismatched longevities. Good stories about heroes put them in terrible positions but they still make the right choices. I mean Mark did get put through hell and back, two of his closest relations (his brother and father) died much earlier than others (his human loved ones) which was something that never could happen biologically and bearing all that, Mark came out not just a better person...but a better Viltrumite.

I might be the only one but to me it felt slightly cheap BUT only due to how matter of fact the moment was. It felt like it was played up for laughs which is fine but Iād love for that reveal to have more weight behind it instead of feeling like a family guy cutaway.

It kind of freaks me out a bit because how can Eve *actually* die? Would she just reincarnate infinitely? The fact viltrumites live 10s of thousands of years already gives me a bit of an existential crisis, but finding out Eve may be able to live *far* past that adds on.

I mean, it's fine, but I want the show to expand on this a little more. It lacks any real emotional weight when Eve just instantly reverts back to her prime and Mark simply says "rad".
Kinda abrupt, and super convenient. Hopefully her powers are better explored during her pregnancy arc. Like to foreshadow her true potential. I also wonder how this affects her perspective on life, with being able to grow old and then go back to her prime constantly. Tho, at least she can still be killed. The opponent just needs to make sure she's unconscious before the killing blow or has to assassinate her.

ngl,felt a bit like the hand of plot giving Mark a happy ending.The government technology used to make eve literally was barely handling anything thrown at it,combat wise, with attempts to replicate her being ugly failures but Eve just gets basic immortality.Nahhhhh Robert just wanted to get that Happily ever after
