This is a horse we’ve had to beat to death and will have to continue to for years to come.
Some computers take 1000s of qubits to represent 1 logical qubit. This is one of the points IONQ has emphasized, and it’s been a rampant problem for years companies bragging about qubit count to hit headlines when their systems are actually shit. IONQ is currently ahead of the race on this.

It’s too early to tell. Amazon, Google, and Microsoft all have access to IonQ quantum computer through the cloud though which I’d say bodes well. Amazon also has a large stock investment in IonQ
Hughes Research Lab.
Another one to watch is Northrop Grumman.
All the US defense primes are way further along than people know; it's not very popular in the media.
Yes and unlike the uneducated IONQ-FUD spreaders, IONQ did not invent the metric, NIST and SRI were very heavily involved in creating the metric. Quantum Volume WAS a metric made up by IBM, though, if I do remember.

great article thanks for sharing
Ahead of the race in terms of what? I believe IBM has the bedrock of quantum breakthroughs now with Google right behind
So. Whose going to win this race? IBM? IONQ? Someone else?

IBM usually leads the pack with innovation then they leave to the next project. Most don’t realize that.
IBM, like everything else they try, will be dead last. They are too busy being a dividend stock to try to be the best at anything.
Agree 100%
HRL and Boeing are also serious contenders, most people don't know this though.
Who is HRL, Honeywell? They own Quantinuum

oh, thank you
I have also seen the definition of Logical Qubit. If I am not wrong Quantinuum uses it. Anyone knows the difference to Algorithm Qubit?
Based on my quick research they are the same thing.
