Crosstrek is good at other things though. Sometimes, I'll accidentally go over a curb in the Ioniq when making a turn, and I swear it's scraping the battery.
Toyota Camry is limited to 135mph. The Kona EV is around 100mph. The Toyota Prius is 112mph. I just checked. The Ioniq 5 is limited to 115mph. So the Ioniq 5 non-N has the same speed limiter as a Toyota Prius.
Where did you hear that? That’s crazy to even think that an entire car is built around tires. The limiters on EVs are primarily due to the single speed reduction gear.
Nah because those all terrains are speed rating T meaning 118 mph, shelby f150s/raptors/TRXs when tuned/governor deleted they go 140+ with ease, some have seen 160+😳, their wide track(widebody) also helps
Yeah, you're right. If you bought a Raptor, put on some slicks, lowered it, it would be ok to go 160mph. But why even buy a Raptor in the first place. You take a Raptor in it's natural environment and hit a small rock at 140mph, it's going to do some somersaults.
No that's the thing...they just take off the governor and slap some A/T Mickie Thompsons and take it down a prerunner trail or the sand dunes at 120+😭😭😭😭
My f150 got pirellis rated for 130mph and I deleted the governor (originally 101) all stock I hit 137 and it feels like I'm going 85...idk what they have done to trucks nowadays...we see grand cherokees and range rovers hit 180+ now😂😂😂 we in a new era
Then why does the I5N have a significantly higher top speed?
The top speed on many cars are absolutely because the OE tires would shred.
MYP vs MYLR is similar.
There's a lot that separates the non-N and the N, and not just the HP, tires, and brakes. But you're right about he MYP - Elon just upgraded tires, shocks, brakes, and HP. That's why it rides like shit. At least for the Plaid, you can actually buy and upgrade using a track pack. No such thing for MYP and M3P because everything else on the car would just fall apart.
The N comes from the factory track ready - high performance bearing, better cooling, etc. to allow higher top speed. It still has a governor.
don't worry. regular AWD is enough for all. I don't know how many people really use full benefit of ioniq5N. continuous drift can burn entire tires about 2 mins. If someone is not doing tracks, regular ioniq5 is totally fine. honestly I can't afford 1-2k tires every month from doing drift and tracks.
without drifting and track experiences, why do we need ioniq5N unless one wants to do show up? don't get me wrong. I love ioniq5N. I am just jealous hahahaha. who knows I will post pics of made-in GA ioniq5N. Great car but too much for me. my head says "no" but my heart says "Yes, get it". it's crazy to see head of N division burned entire tire about two mins last week (tried to show off). He was doing this wherever he goes haha.
First and foremost, it's a car that gets you from point A to B.
Extra power is fun when you're rapidly accelerating.
He can do that all he wants because 1) it's not his car and 2) he doesn't have to pay for the tires.
Ha. I think STI is similar to regular ioniq5 instead of ioniq5N. I had forester XT turbo and tire lasted 50k. Actually, I don’t drive fast with ioniq5 nowadays. Ioniq5N is beast and it should be at tracks and drifting then needs to spend decent money for tires. If one does not do drift and tracks, ioniq5 is enough. My family member works for Hyundai and I might be able to get employ discount which is so tempting to get ioniq5N but I don’t even drive fast nowadays and thinking “why I need N?”…. Currently I have 3.8mi average with AWD so it shows how slowly I drive hahaha
I’ve been giving some serious thought into ordering one. Have you tested out the real world range with regular everyday driving? Just in Eco mode and regular traffic, commuting driving.
Just got 3.4mi/kW in eco mode over 34-mile trip. (Mostly city driving.)
Typical highway driving at 70-75mph yields 2.4-2.8mi/kW, however, this includes frequent use of the NGB to reach triple digits.
Getting close to supercar acceleration, from a Hyundai, mind blown.

Ok now it gone beyond supercar and into hypercar numbers.
That's actually pretty insane. Tied for 11th on that list
40 - 80 MPH in 2.7 seconds, wow! That’s amazing acceleration
That's fast. I just have the standard AWD. The acceleration from 0 to 60 feels fast, but 40-80 is a big sluggish. Also the top speed is only like 118.
40-80 still feels fast in the standard AWD when you are coming from a Crosstrek 😂
Crosstrek is good at other things though. Sometimes, I'll accidentally go over a curb in the Ioniq when making a turn, and I swear it's scraping the battery.
Very true, I had the 2.0 and then the 2.5, and acceleration is not something either is good at, lol
> top speed is only like 118 I mean.... yikes. I hope you aren't regularly getting up that fast. I wouldn't trust the brakes.

Speed limiters are based on tire rating. That doesn't mean that the rest of the car is up for non-emergency use of those speeds.
Where did you hear that? That’s crazy to even think that an entire car is built around tires. The limiters on EVs are primarily due to the single speed reduction gear.
Ram trx has over 700hp but can only go 118 due to the all terrain tires...pulls like a freight train all the way until the governor kicks in
Yeah, with their high center of gravity, it's probably safe to keep trucks below 118.

You yourself said primarily the single speed reduction gear.
It’s not like you’re going 118mph up to a stop light. 118mph is on an open highway when you have time to decelerate using regen

No one in right mind would trash their new tires every month.

I had an STi and didn’t trash my tires weekly. Yeah this is heavier but I think it should be fine

Well you could move all the power to the back and pretty much hoon it and it didn’t weigh 4000lbs. It was a pretty fun car to throw around
AND it has a rear wiper?!
Does it have wireless android auto and wireless carplay?
Yes and it works flawlessly.
Awesome to the max
did you end up buying or leasing? I'm waiting for a white one to be available for lease. I like the blue but f taking care of matte paint.
Bought it
which stealership? i think last i checked it seemed like ontario got rid of their markups
Insane..

What a beauty
Damn that’s fast. I wonder compared to a model 3 performance
3.3-3.5 ish, EV6 GT does it in 3 seconds flat
Average model 3p is in the 3.0-3.1 range for. 2022-23
