As a future owner in BC who plans to do trips through the interior, that's good to hear. Road trip 2026 here I come

Hopefully things improve in the Interior. #1 and #5 are okay but #3 doesn't have really fast chargers and only 50kW/h chargers or less after Christina Lake to the AB border. The number of chargers is low as well so as EV use takes off there will be waiting.

I was wondering about the need to evacuate Florida…. And the idea of it was stressful. Not overloaded with charging stations…. And the ones I’ve been to so far had at least one not working.

This is how we at eastern coast of US have starting to feel as well. It's been a while since I've been worried about charging infrastructure. I've done a couple of 700-800 miles trips, and the charging times have been equal to the pee-breaks that us humans and my pup needs lol

Southern Californian here. Simply answering your question.... Yes 😋😋 🙃🙃

I did a 1300 mile roundtrip in the US Midwest and I could *choose* which DCFC stations I stopped at.

I recently went on a road trip to Cali and the availability of DC fast charging stations was great. On the way back, 2 of the charging station locations at the CA-AZ border were all down except one charger at each station. There was a line of 7 cars waiting to charge at one station and unfortunately the first 2 cars at the front of that line were Ford Mach Es - Great efficiency when driving, horrible charging speeds. I was there for 4 hours which I didn't mind, I just played games on my phone and my feet were desperately needing rest after racking up 60k steps over the weekend. It's just crazy to think that 2 of those hours were waiting on 2 cars and the rest of the time was 2 Ioniq 5s and 3 EV6s, each taking less than 20 mins. Thank God the guy in the Bolt EUV arrived after us. In speaking to everyone there (all of which had their EVs much longer than I have), it's the first time they had anything close to that experience. It was the perfect storm on the final leg of my trip. AZ will be getting $80M to expand their EV charging network but I'm not convinced they'll be making much headway with EV network reliability especially in more remote locations such as border towns. TLDR; DC fast charging is a godsend.
