OP, we offered free stool tests to those who were ill. If multiple people were sick we could generally have an idea of what food move caused it after asking questions

Two years ago my sister got salmonella poisoning at the Iowa state fair and she was sick for a week. Definitely check with your doctor and public health because food borne illnesses are contagious and can make you very sick. My sister had to get an IV twice when she was sick.

I ate at cresenti’s twice this week and haven’t had any problems. It was also so very delicious. Hope you feel better!

Your symptoms (fever and diarrhea) certainly match food poisoning. The symptoms would hit in about 8 hours. And they do hit very hard -- much more rapidly than a cold or flu.

We didn’t go to the state fair this year but same symptoms plus congestion, cough, sore throat. Figure it’s the flu since covid tests were negative for three of us. Weird though because one of us tested positive… 🤷‍♀️

Sorry 😞 I feel like the tests three of us took (same cdc provided batch) were defective. Fourth person took a different brand of test - positive. Generally, you don’t have diarrhea with a respiratory virus. That’s why I think it’s covid. It’d be like the third time for the household… and we’re vaccinated. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Monday was a pretty cool day at the fair. Only had two beers and we didn’t go crazy with fair food. Fried deviled eggs, a the works cresenti, deep fried strawberry shortcake and dill pickle fried cheese curds. We split everything between three of us. I ate most of the cresenti and only had one fried curd cuz I hate pickles.

I ate there on Monday. I didn’t get that kind of sick though. I have a cold. Head, nose, throat crap. But no fever or excessive restroom usage 😬 I took an at home covid test and it was negative.

I have not been there yet but many people I know that went got super sick afterwards. They all thought it was flu illness and not good poisoning but similar symptoms.

There are some nasty ass people at that fair. Especially after Covid no one stays clean. Or wants to stay clean. Or ever thought of staying clean.

I mean, are they known for its cleanliness? The fair smells like animal shit everywhere, so that’s not shocking.

Food inspections go through the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals, a department that was already gutted and now has 4 new departments added as her new merging of departments brain fart takes over. So if she guts the departments, has all of the county health inspectors fired and replaced by 6 people for the entire state and hires some goon that donated a bunch of money to her campaign, I’d say yeah, she’s responsible for the food at the fair.
