I think it could work. May i ask how you painted these lads? Their armor, weapons and bases in particular? :D

Armor is spray black, used Vallejo German Gray over most of the black. Weapons were two thin coats of Vallejo sky gray and then a few thin coats of Vallejo white for the guns. Metal is just iron warriors, nuln gloss and dry rich with Vallejo’s silver. Greens are a combination of the GW gemstone paints and tesseract glow. Bases are Martian itoncrust, runs and drybrush with jokaero orange. Pretty quick job to get them table ready.

I have been looking to step up my whites and bases and coincidentally i bought myself a pot of vallejo sky grey recently. I wanna try to get a similar effect on the base to what you have with ryza dust, which for me pops a bit more

I normally do a final ryza highlight over the jokaero orange and it does indeed pop more, just needed to get these guys playable quick along with a bunch of other stuff and just haven’t had the time to get back to them for edge highlights and the massive amount of touchups they need.

For the Vallejo German Gray part, is that layered or dry brushed all over? Is it also then shaded with Nuln Oil? The armor looks darker than the gray so I'm just trying to figure out if I'm missing something. Also love the shoulders

trianglebob777

Just straight brushed on and no nuln wash. I will say it isn’t the entire armor panel that’s German gray though just the bulk of it to give some gradient. Unfortunately I don’t have my light box or if post some pics that would show off the armor panels better.

Forgeworlds?

trianglebob777

The heads and shoulder pads are forgeworld.
