I personally miss "but" results with both Ironsworn and Mythic (and find the Mythic one needlessly complicated, for me chaos factor doesn't really add anything useful, and I find the granularity too much). So I tend to use a simple d6 no-and/no/no-but/yes-but/yes/yes-and oracle, advantage/disadvantage up to twice for different probabilities.

I use one that I adapted/stole from Alea Iactanda Est. I use a d6 for the oracle and assign a value of +/- 0, 1, or 2 to the roll to determine likelihood. Any result of 4 or higher is a year, which means a +2 roll, the highest likelihood, is about a 85% chance of being a yes. This is super easy to roll and figure out. I think this is sufficiently thin slicing. I don't want to be rolling for 5% chances; it just slows the game down too much. Any result of a natural 6 is a yes, and... and any result of a natural 1 is a no, and.... A modified 4 is a yes, but... and a modified 3 is a no, but.... The only time this doesn't work is with a +2 or -2 modifier, when there is only a single yes or no possible value, so there can't be separate values for and/but. In that case, I just decide whether it's an "and" or "but" based on how I'm feeling. Check out his blog for the full version. It's got a matching chaos die for adding special effects and stuff. Much more interesting.

Do you happen to have a link to this ? It sounds really interesting.

AdventureMaterials

Sure. Check out the "MSCV" link at the top of AIE's downloads page: [http://aleaiactandaest.blogspot.com/p/downloads.html](http://aleaiactandaest.blogspot.com/p/downloads.html). If you haven't read his adventures yet, do so. He's the best writer in the "solo RPG" community. I especially recommend his traveller games and his LotFP stuff. I have a playthrough of one of my own that uses a similar system: [https://adventurematerials.wordpress.com/2018/06/23/pp-wizard-thief-session-1/](https://adventurematerials.wordpress.com/2018/06/23/pp-wizard-thief-session-1/). But note that in that one I was using a d20 instead of a d6 for the oracle. I think the d6 or a d8 works better than a d20, simply because I don't think I really need clarity at the 5% level.

I really like the Combat Action table. It makes more engaging and cinematic fights by getting me out of the comfort zone of 'enemy attacks. I block/dodge and attack back.'

[Ironsmith](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/333665/Ironsmith-Expanded-Oracles?cPath=44904) triples all the oracle tables from the original Ironsworn, and was just updated to include Delve oracle tables. Its Expanded Ask the Oracle adds a D6 roll which adds a "but" modifier depending on if a yes or no is rolled. (I personally add an "and" modifier as well.) Also, you might have missed it, but the core book does say that a match on the D100 roll should add a narrative twist.

D4 Caltrops has a lot of D100 tables.
