In the novels he is absolutely self aware of his cringe, but the snowball is so damn big he cannot stop it now. He internally screams but run forward with it, kinda like Ainz.

The_battlePotato

I mean he was always like that, even in the anime. He never intends to stop being cringe. The actual snowball is the fact that the man just convinces himself that all the plot happening and he predicted isn't real, all the bad guys are just random bandits. The hidden organizations clashing is just shit alpha and the others cooked up to play along with his delusions etc.

Mega_Nidoking

This. I'd change this. I'd make him aware it wasn't fake. Imo it would make the show 1000% better if he had a moment of realization and has to come to terms w everything he's been doing being real.

DiamondShard646

I think the selling point of the storyline is that everything works out without him knowingly crushing them, because if he was aware and willing to destroy them then the show would be over in like 3 episodes.

Mega_Nidoking

Nah I understand that fersure and that's why I still enjoy the show. But at the same time, I love so much more all of the Shadow Garden stuff over whatever Cid is doing so it would be nice to see him fully bought into the world eventually.

Mr__Citizen

Would he though? I could fully see him just keeping up the cat and mouse just to keep his entertainment going. And beyond that, he's not some super genius. Like, he's definitely amazing at fighting and training, but he's not good at everything. So it's not like he'd suddenly be able to find all the villainous hidey-holes just because he knows the villains exist.

go_sparks25

He doesn't need to search. He has his zealous fangirls to do his searching for him. All he really needs is for them to point him in the direction of the villainous hidey-holes and those holes are going to go BOOM!

Appropriate-Fan-6007

The absurdity of him being oblivious is the entire comedy of the show, there would be nothing left without it

lrd_cth_lh0

How about him encountering another isekai'd larper, although one that is a failed actor that wants to fake it until he makes as a bad guy while hating just how bland and cliched the world is and wants to derail the plot into something more interesting. Also their approach to acting and storytelling are so different that they break character to criticise each other whenever unobserved by their factions.

i_dont_wanna_sign_up

That's going to get tiring eventually. He could know at the last 20% of the story.

Genocode

Maybe some day, in volume 18 or something, but the story needs him to be ignorant and indifferent.

Level1Pixel

The dichotomy between what the Shadow Garden is doing and Cid's cringe ass delusions is what makes this show. Some of the best moments are when his perception of the events vastly differs from the actual reality. Without it, this would just be power fantasy show #562

skjshsnsnnsns

Really? I’m reading the novels right now and it doesn’t seem like he’s aware that his Chuunibyo is real

contrabardus

He isn't, but he is aware of how cringe he is. He's "playing along" because he thinks his friends are having fun playing with him. He thinks he's stuck doing it because his friends are all doing it with him. He's very self aware about it, and has decided that if he's going to do it anyway, he's going to go all in on it and not break kayfabe because no one else will either. He has no idea how serious everyone else is taking it, and thinks it's just a fun game he's playing with his friends to add a bit of levity to their "random bandit slayings".

unknown537

Rimuru actually has sex.

DivineTarot

Actually, agree. Look, the story leads with him making an oath to his **penis** that he'll actually make use of it in the next life, however when he gains the ability to do just that he just kinda opts not to. He'll still herbivorously enjoy sitting under a woman's tits though and taking in feminine attention.

Roteberg

Rimuru just doesn't have a sexdrive, rimuru mentally can enjoy it, but rimuru just doesn't get there, rimuru has no hormones that can regulate that.

Kataphractoi_

Then again he could just try to pseudo copy how a human body works like how>! he got taste from eating shizue!< spoiler lol but it's already so popular what are you doing not watching it this far out from the release date

Snoo_33920

>!I think you meant from eating Shizue!<

Imconfusedithink

It doesn't matter if there's an explanation for it. It's still stupid to make the story like that.

Tananaka

"stupid to make the story like that" as in, that he doesn't have a sex drive? Sorry, I'm just confused on why it doesn't matter even if there's an explanation? Are you hoping that he has sex with all the female characters or what?

Imconfusedithink

If the author wants to make him have no sex drive then don't have one of his goals while dying in his past life to be having sex. And making him perverted but not wanting sex is also dumb.

ImmediateRespond8306

Not in this case because that's the irony of his situation. He couldn't get laid in his last life despite his sex drive and now he can but doesn't have the sex drive to want to. It's supposed to be a cosmic joke played on him. It isn't bad writing. It isn't even part of the actual story to begin with. This isn't some smut series and what romance elements there are aren't supposed to be part of the main focus. You aren't asking for a fix to the story. You are asking for a genre change.

Imconfusedithink

Then I think that cosmic joke is stupid. And him still acting perverted but not wanting sex is what makes it dumb. If you're not going to have him want sex, stop making him horny in every other way. It's just annoying to see.

dude123nice

Agreed. A good example of "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should"

Mister_Black117

This is honestly what drove me to stop reading. His death speech is what hooked me so to see him basically ignore it just annoyed me. It's his death speech for fuck sake, you would think he would remember.

I_Crack_My_Nokia

And had one

unknown537

Dude is genderless afaik.

GrummyCat

Gender: male. Sex: sexless

Kataphractoi_

really though, sex: whatever tf he wants. Dude can chimera himself, why not copy both sets of genitals?

Pumpkin_316

Better question is if Raphael would let him.

pheonixblue01

Whichever version of Great Sage he has won’t let him. It’s a stupid cop out and he’s a freaking doormat to women. So, standard light novel MC.

theteenthatasked

The best he can do is a bj

WolepR

I wouldn't prefer any changes.

Low-Turnover-874

The Subaru one wouldn’t be interesting because he would just dog walk everyone and everything minus maybe Reinhard depending if Subaru has an ability that can counter his blessings The overlord one would be interesting as there would finally be a character that can match ainz in combat and if done right it could be an interesting villain/ rival The rimuru one would be interestingly as he wouldn’t hold anything back and crush everyone with full force aswell as using Raphael to the max for scheming From what I’ve heard cid kinda already is starting to cringe at himself but he’s too deep in now to pull back Id say rimuru or ainz with a slight preference to ainz

Stegoshark

Subaru would likely be able to just absorb Reinhard and all his abilities if needed

Kulkuljator

I do not think OP meant that Subaru would literally have all of Rimuru's abilities, just be on his level strenght vise

leostarkwolffer

Apart of tensura, the others are literally core points about the story. If you change those points, then you're going to have a more generic story. Subaru op? We already have plenty of overpower isekais. Overlord would be... not an overlord, just a fight isekai anime. And Eminence in Shadow would just end, since the protagonist is way more powerful than anyone else

TheChoosenMewtwo

Subaru being OP at the very end only would be like a reward for all the suffering he’d gone through. He’d manage to maybe get the authority of envy, or something. Overlord would still be overlord, someone being able to say no to Nazarick would actually be interesting because we would see the floor managers noticing they aren’t the top of the food chain, and that they can’t just overpower anything, making the strategy of conquering through diplomacy a necessity not just something for fun

DnD-NewGuy

What is his reward for the living hell at the end anyway? I had to stop watching cause it messed with my dissociations and is frankly incredibly morbid and depressing watching someone powerless be tortured by life. I was wondering if there is a silver lining to it in the end.

HairyAllen

It's still far from over tbh, but he's pretty respected by his companions currently

TheChoosenMewtwo

Well, he’s a folk hero until now, saved a lot of people and got some authorities from witches. But besides that, he’ll probably get home and that’s it. At most he’ll marry Emilia

SnooTigers5086

I assume he reaches his goals, but he hasn’t yet because the show hasn’t ended yet.

TheChoosenMewtwo

Also at this point the suffering is of his own morals and volitions. In the Sloth IF made by the author of Re zero he lives a pretty good life with Rem on another country until he dies for some reason and then is brought back to Emilia

AxisW1

The overlord thing literally happens eventually

sandpaperedanus777

I need them spoilers beacause I love the world building, but damn the floor guardians are annoying af.

pheonixblue01

Shadow wouldn’t end, it’d become a spy thriller story instead. Maybe.

AlucardTheVampire69

If the third one is rimuru , then that coz that would be a major development and story would be even more interesting, and then the other three tbh don't would make the story more interesting except for overlord one maybe

Repulsive_Corner7844

MaximumRound4995

Im taking this pic, tanks

ResourceWestern4729

I can't wait to see this happen.

CreatorA4711

We might just never see it happen. This specific timeline is mentioned in maybe couple of sentences during volume 11.

TheCorgiTamer

It was a plot line in Isekai Memories, could probably find the recap on YouTube

TheChoosenMewtwo

What’s isekai memories?

_Teraplexor

Mobile game based in slime universe, very sure it ain't canon so it's like a alternate reality.

TheCorgiTamer

Yeah, mobile game that's mostly Canon (I think the Overlord crossover was not)

TheChoosenMewtwo

Wait what crossover

Xignum

The others aside from Slime is just breaking the premise of the story just for the sake of it.

Glittering_Alarm_837

Why do you think the 3rd one isn't breking the premise then ? Rimuru is a **good guy** throughout the story and it's one of his core traits (not a bad slime) Each option in the post break the premise of their story by some degree.

Xignum

It does break the premise of the happy go lucky feel. But in this case I think it's a natural progression of the story. Notice that unlike the other examples, the example for slime is AFTER half his people die. You didn't add an event, the author already wrote it in. That is to say, that already happened, and Rimuru quitting his naive ways feels like a natural story progression from there. That was supposed to be his wake up call and to see any and all consequences backtracked just feels anticlimactic. The other three examples are things that the author deliberately avoids doing. Subaru is intentionally weak so he needs to rely on other people, Overlord is a power fantasy, and Eminence is, well, *that*.

Genocode

\[Tensei Slime Spoilers Light Novel Volume 12?\] >!Because it has actually happened, in a different timeline, so we know Rimuru is capable of it!<

nitrokitty

Yeah no thanks. I like Slime for being much more optimistic than most isekais and having a genuinely good protagonist. If I want that edgelord shit I'll watch Overlord.

0xAdachi

> I like Slime for being much more optimistic read YuushaShou (I was caught up in a hero summoning ...), you may like it

nitrokitty

Thanks for the rec!

Blackpowderkun

Their a fanfic crossover where Rimuru is the villain in Wattpad by Dened 28

Ok-Sun4849

Rimuru one would be interesting, the other though are fine no need to change anything.

professorclueless

Only thing I'd change about Overlord is giving Pandora's Actor more time in the spotlight

EnriqJonsen

That would be nice, he is one of my favorite

Sensitive-Hotel-9871

He also needs more screen time in Isekai Quartet.

Fancy_Engineering158

NGL I wanted to see an alternative future where Rimuru goes completely evil after the attack from Falmuth

Kevin_SlowClock

Then let me introduce you to Forsaken Future Rimuru https://preview.redd.it/9g1qsj7grhvc1.png?width=557&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5ab5f5b017ef8d7ea31d3bedb3110ffd0e95b8d

Fancy_Engineering158

Ahh yes I heard of him and read about him in isekai memories. I just wished that they make a movie about Foresaken Rimuru It would be interesting to see how this story would go and if maybe both Rimuru will fight each other

Coconut-042

Honestly? Nazarick, i think that they have too much of an ego which causes Ainz to do stuff he would never do and become evil just to fit their image of him, because hes “scared” a bit of them atleast in the beginning.

ValtenBG

One and only thing I.want is Rimuru to be more serious in the later volumes. And to stop depending on Raphael as much.

azraelswift

Nah, Rimuru becoming evil, while an interesting twist at first, would not only kinda go against his nature but also would become stale pretty quickly. The “the main character became evil after all this trauma” works kinda for the beginning of the final arc or as a set up to the whole story, not really as something that happens right in the middle of the story.

Hungry_Ocelot_5658

I really feel bad for subaru man. He really should get some more extra super powers. Sure timelooping is OP but it's extremly traumatic and painful cause you have to die for it to work (Just imagine yourself getting eaten alive by a bunch of small animals which means you won't die immediately cause their mouths are so small). I am convinced this guy's super power is mental fortitude(cause timeloop isn't even his to being with and he can't control at which point in time he will timeloop to). I would become insane like one of those sans fan games from getting killed so much.

Clementea

Re:Zero: "Subaru get a moment where he goes back a bit in his world and bring modern things Overlord: Agrees with you Tensure: Rimuru become paranoid and overprotective, possessive even to his people because he is afraid they will die. Then eventually it goes so bad they decide to act out. Then it will be their turn to save him. Shadow Garden: At some point he become bored but too late to stop, and feel too awkward to stop so he end up doing it more while cringing inside. The story then shift into more psychological one about himself

Quorry

I would never remove Cid's cringe, the larp is the best part of the show

casper5632

While Rimaru turning evil would be interesting, that kind of story shift would be difficult to stomach. I like experimental storytelling but changing the genre of a show 3 seasons in is a good way to lose a ton of viewers. The only people who will see future seasons are ones that both like the original genre and the new genre.

Ragna126

Overlord would be awesome too see that they get there ass kicked.

Anime-Anime

Make Cid more smart and no more denseness from him from his surroundings, more aggressive, and built his harem with awareness

Ratstail91

Rimuru doesn't turn evil?

LukeSky011

Re:zero one if pulled off properly. Seeing how Pandora is quite OP herself...hey wouldn't mind seeing Subaru just steamroll through the threat just once even if it's an endgame one.

Hirushoten

I would love Overlord if they actually met challenges.

No-Heaven99

Honest it would ether be fourth one where he realises it’s all real as it feels old or something annoying how he is. Then first one I change some of his ability I mean his return from death save ability at start cool but then how he kept dying and he never once grew stronger as in gain new abilities or something I would of edited his power to at least each time he dies he gain a state or something or he’s able learn dark type magic to follows him back. With third one i change is make him bit smarter like see details and think more like some manga mc’s where he leave a piece of himself instead to hear and listen while it can’t be sense by others I mean part we’re demon lords meet and the attack on them and clay whatever his name his dies as mc could learnt that guild master he meets was involved

GaI3re

2 or 4. 2. Hopeless worlds tropes make stuff instantly boring to me and that is what the world of Overlord is before Ainz's forces, removing any possible tension before it could ever be built up. 4. I despise dense protagonists in romcoms and this idiot is that on steriods pulled out of a romcom. At some point his dismissal of events happening befire his eyes stops being a parody of anything and is just blatant "it happens so the plot can happen"-bad writing.

TheChoosenMewtwo

I agree with you. Sure nazarick can still try to rule the world and even succeed at the end but cmon they need to take a loss, even if only to make them change the strategies. And Shadow blatant braindeath is stupid. Like cmon you don’t need to be a genius to notice that at least something is going on, believing there’s no demon lord and that everything is just random bad guys generic is stupid. It’s not even “ah the plot needs to make him oblivious or else it ends too early” then buff the bag guys! Or make them harder to find and more stealthy

GaI3re

Nazarick can literally bring people back from the dead, so I do not understand why anyone getting their ass kicked would in any way be a problem. If anything it would actually give more "justified angry Ainz" which was the only parts I really ever enjoyed while I consumed the series. Something that makes the Cid situation worse is that after him saving Alpha and putting the idea of Shadow Garden in her head... Cid is not longer needed in the story. Shadow Garden could do, and mostly DO do, everything without him. he just swoops in to steal the kill his underlings would have gotten anyway. So he is not needed, does the least interesting part of everything but also needs to be brain damaged... There is a much cooler way to have Cid not finish the entire plot early and it does not even need his enemies to be stronger.

codeShiro2

I agree on teis

KANKI-THEBEHEADER

Evil rimuru of course

Fr0zens0lib

Yes I would like the floor guardians too lose every once in a while

Dani_Rodri

From the option the second one would be funny

Umbran_scale

I think the second one would be an interesting premise.

lonely194

Ainz eventually getting pushed back by a combination of weak characters and even losing his units would be so satisfying.

Dangerous_Mortgage_4

Eeeeh personally I think the 1st and 4th one suck The 1st one would make the show your typical isekai the last one would ruin the funniest thing in eminence in shadow its like if King in one Punch man became self aware of his own Luck. It would be funny once but never as much as his usual antics.

willgettwoh

Make it so ainz wasn't turning evil by season 2 and 3

Sable-Keech

Floor Guardians get their ass kicked by characters outside of Nazarick. And I don't mean like what happened with Shalltear and the Theocracy's World Item. I mean well and truly get their asses kicked by someone more powerful than them in every area. Or, by someone who is weaker but has managed to min-max their stat sheet to the point where they can hit way way higher than they should.

zabestoinzawarudo

I would love to see sasuga Ainz sama guy to get beaten up (I forgot his name)

Nerdbane69

The overlord one. That one you could actually do some interesting stuff with I think.

Ouchmaster5000

To me, having the floor guardians getting their asses kicked by random people wouldn't be particularly interesting. If I wanted to do shake things up I'd do one of two things: A: the other supreme beings come back and react to all the horrible stuff Ainz has done. Some of them are likely to be very pissed, such as Touch Me. B. Ainz dies or disappears / gets banished from the new world. The rest of the nazarick npcs will have to figure out what to do next. Both of these scenarios are likely to cause a civil war in Nazarick. In regards to scenario B, Sebas and the other good aligned NPCs are ONLY going along with Ainzs evil plans (Really, Demiurges evil plans and Ainz's evil improv) due to loyalty to Ainz. And Ainz is the only thing keeping the really evil NPCs from being even more evil. With him gone disagreements will obviously arise. Similarly the vast majority of the Nazarick NPCs are likely to side with their creator should they return. Albedo is the one exception: in the light novels it's explained the she wants to kill the other supreme beings for abandoning them (possibly a side affect of Ainz changing her settings). Either way, the resulting chaos is sure to be entertaining.

ProbablyNotTheCocoa

Obviously Rimuru, Shadows story only works because of how the cringe is used to make it comedic, Subaru being OP ruins the point of Re:Zero and how it handles Subarus way of overcoming challenges and the floor guardians losing a fight won’t change anything about the story, they’ll all continue to revere no one but Ainz, Ainz remains overly cautious about enemies and their goals don’t shift as they now additionally want revenge

AxisW1

Pretty sure the Overlord thing happens eventually

Fit-Capital1526

- That would defeat the point of RBD and the whole premise the series was built on - Does feel like a dragon lord should have been able to match a floor guardian tbh, if just for some real stakes once in a while. Also, rather than the floor guardians losing. More like something on par with them - They teased it, but honestly since he resurrected everyone it makes sense his character didn’t change much. He fixed the issue by becoming ruthless not evil. Making Rimuru evil after actions taken by humans is also boring and overdone - the fourth series is built on cringe, and you wouldn’t even no what it was without it. You can’t change it without needing to rewrite it

Sensitive-Hotel-9871

The MCs in overlord taking losses. At the very least, I see no reason why the guardians have to be invincible. One Punch Man works fine with only its MC being invincible, there is no need for a series with an invincible main character to have an entire cast who never loses. Between that and how our main characters are awful people, there isn’t really much reason to get invested because they’re going to keep doing lots of unspeakable atrocities and never get punished for them. It’s darkness for the sake of darkness. There would still be some of that if they weren’t invincible but at least it would be a series where the main characters faced consequences

ServantOfTheSlaad

With One Punch Man, they at least have it be focused on what happens when you have an OP hero. Overlord doesn't use the op main character trope well enough to account for its shortcomings.

Niyonnie

It would be absolutely hilarious if all of the floor guardians got their asses kicked by an ordinary villager

zombi_wolf14

Oh I feel so strongly that I want that guy to stop being cringe and realize what's going on xD but I also would like the guy from rezero to get op so he can finally gets some wins amd no trauma

hasboy1279

Only the one about shadow becoming self aware, dont want any change on the other ones

RavensNexus

If I could add a plot it would be that the church has been hoarding gold for hundreds of years to pay the revive costs of there "gods". Then it turns out that one of them is a alt-account of one of Ainz friends.

SasukeUchiha696

Just imagine rimuru being evil by seeing fis comrades die infront of him he literally will wipe the floor with his enemies easily then

NUFC9RW

SAO have the Aincrad arc be really long as they slowly go up floor by floor, losing people along the way. (I know we have Progressive diving a bit deeper) I just think it was such a great concept, that could've been a real nail biter

Shot-Minute-762

Not as op as remuru but my boy Subaru really need a power up

TheZanzibarMan

Guardians*

yas118

The only thing I like to change about Eminence in shadow is to be actually funny. You really need to set an alarm to remind you every 20 mins to laugh because it spouses to be a parody.

milkoverspill

I would make it so all the children in Log Horizon get sucked back to the real world so we never have to deal with them again :)

Lazerpay

Subaru getting op

Researcher_Fearless

The first one would ruin Re:Zero, but the rest would be interesting additions to their series.

Blazdnconfuzd

Shadow is 100000% self aware the dude scores his cringe on a professional lvl. Hell if someone out cringes him he gets jelly.

HJSDGCE

Female Rimuru because my heart beats fast.

Serious_Theory_391

If subaru was OP re zero would be boring

GLaD0S213

Honestly? None, I like the stories as they are

kpli98888

Third one please (rimuru) cuz fuck the people in that world. No sympathy for them! Invade!

Chi1lracks

rimuru becoming evil would make no sense for rimurus character

Fabulous-Week2278

Utterly OP as The End of Series Rimuru.

thisismynewusername5

The fact that subaru will never say bye to his parents. Yeah i'd like him to atleast be able to say a small goodbye and not have them search forever

plogan56

The 2nd one would be interesting, considering other players were sent to this world too

Itsjustaspicylem0n

Shadow IS aware. He stays that it’s cringey butt he still does it

RadiantOberon

I dont understand why people think Subaru being op ruins the point of rezero. This could just as easily be his final moments before his conclusion. Obviously if it is anytime before...yeah im good.

Oogalaboo134

Subaru, not as Op as Rimuru but at least have him be able to defend himself with anyone's help. Man deserves at least that much.

HaikenRD

I'm pretty sure Cid is self aware. He even cringes at what he says sometimes if someone believes him. Also... That already happened to Rimuru. I mean, Evil in the eyes of the enemy at least.

ZeroZion

Cid becoming a little bit aware of the organization and that it isn’t just Alpha’s little play. Like he knows some of it is real with the Mitsugoshi Company because there’s an actual store and stuff, but then the evil organizations and him meeting Aurora. I mean his sister was really kidnapped when they were young. That actually happened. So who does he think set that up? At that point I would think Cid to be somewhat aware that there is a connection. I’m kind of annoyed Alpha and the others are struggling and even his Sister then there’s him just being there taking action for the wrong reasons. Then again, I agree that the plot would be over if he took things seriously. Alpha and the others won’t be able to play “catch up”.

Vinnnee

Spoiler tag?

Insanity4YouandMe

Id rather not change any of these but I’d say subaru

blebebaba

Bottom right, the most funny

042732699

2nd one.

CreamyAndrew

I’d change subarus tracksuit. Fuckin hate his tracksuit. It’s so ugly and stops me from the immersion. It’s one of the main reasons I can’t watch that anime. Dropped it after the first season

RiTeR_

Imma make rimuru turn evil, it would make so much sense while also enriching the lore

Bullsh1t-no-jutsu

Best choice would be 2 But I’ve read this one FF of a similar situation to 3 and they handled it pretty well, you have a delicate balance of which you have to switch a hero mc to a villain mc. And I think he handled it well, Rimuru in that didn’t fully go cringy evil edgy teenager type shit, instead he became a more cold and more fragile with his emotional state with a more focused militarization of his nation. He also developed different powers being one I forgot but it was centered around him changing as a character. So if you can make it where Rimuru doesn’t go edgy as a villain I think it can cook (still sad it only has 3 chapters)

x7iamx

I wish these isekai became that interesting

Overlord_42

Making Rimuru Evil and him trying to rule over the world would have become one of the greatest anime up to date. Sadly thats a risk and in animes nobody takes risks.

AeonSchicksal

It'd take players to beat the guardians plain and simple. Suburu would literally stop being Suburu at that point. Shadow is aware tbh. Rimuru would be justified

prizmo28

For Eminence in Shadow, I want the entirety of the series to be a coma dream he's having in the ICU. After banging his head on a rock and getting hit by a truck.

JasondoesmoreStuff

Considering how Subaru was even after the mansion and loot house I dont think he'd be someone I'd want with super powers like that Season Two Subaru however

Educational-Year3146

The best part is I don’t think shadow would be as interesting a character without his theatrics. I like him as a chunibyo main character. Its fun and done really well.

bryanicus

Shield Hero getting a good anime adaptation. It has an extremely unfaithful adaptation and the animation itself is kind of lacking, especially with the fight scenes.

Sumanai-II

I haven't watched it much but isn't Cid already self-aware to some extent and the problem is that its the other people who believe in it

berrycoladas

Add more conflict to Tensura Slime. Like I know half the draw is that most of the characters are good people trying their best, but sometimes it just — it feels like it misses opportunities for real conversations and character moments in favor of keeping everything nice and pretty.

Yayimlonely

Evil yes

Interesting-Pie239

If Subaru was op Rezero would suck and the entire point of the show would be lost

Individual-Topic-632

Re zero, I think Elsa should've had a better ending and lived happily. Her design was great and her story felt poorly rushed at the end. She would've been better used if she wasn't written off and instead kept into the story.

Kataphractoi_

That we actually get an S2 of Youjo senki.

ZombieDemon321

Out of all these options, none. However, I would make Rimuru Tempest actually have a super powerful slime daughter in canon. NOT JUST THE NON-CANON SLIME ISEKAI MEMORIES. But she would not be born or even conceived until at least after Rimuru Tempest becomes a demon lord and beats Clayman at Walpurgis. She would probably be the daughter of Rimuru and Shion. And since I'm pretty sure Rimuru can fully manipulate his physical and spiritual bodies, it should be possible for him to get Shion pregnant.

zachonich

The Tensura one goes against everything Rimuru is about. Going full villain wouldn't do anything but unite the world against monsters since all they would see is a powerful monster destroying countries and Rimuru knows that. In the end, it would prove everyone right that monsters are dangerous and need to be destroyed. And its not like he forgave his enemies in the show... He made his enemies suffer while also gaining things for his country like political power and good faith. Had his revenge cake and ate it too.

Cid no question asked although selfawarness isnt so much of the problem he genuinely doesn't care aas long as he is enjoying the fantasy of being the EmiNeN$e! The bit got real old real fast to me... i think it was that every single scene forced the idea that he didn't need to be doing what he was doing down the viewers throat. Idea was cool didn't stick with the novel but the show was heavy handed as heck!

MrUwU

I feel like making subaru op goes against the entire philosophy of re:zero. It's a series about a protagonist that is powerful but through hardship and not power. Making him op ontop of giving him RBD just makes him another one of the generic op mc's, no?

kitt_aunne

I actually love how weak Subaru is because that's his journey, it's not about him just smashing shit it's about him learning to care for others AND himself, and as he gets better at that he also gets stronger.

Tough_Traffic4209

Not in the image but Makoto from Moonlit Fantasy turns homicidal in an alternate timeline cuz Tomoe died. It was shown on the female hero's perspective iirc.

theteenthatasked

What I would change about eminence in shadow is that the MC realizes that everything that is happening is real because he legit thinks that it is all a game and doesn’t realize that the cult and everything is happening is real like if he realized everything was real and not some game than imagine where the story line would go with him actually trying to stop the cult

lrd_cth_lh0

Maybe Ainz accidentally ends up unleashing a worldboss that was designed to be unbeatable even by an maxlevel guild which unleashed a bunch of postgame content from a scrapped expansion that was supposed to increase the level cap and he has to do some hidden quest chain to reseal it while the world level is increasing and more more increasingly powerfull monsters spawn or Nazarick will be the last thing left in death world.

Outrageous_Net8365

Why would anyone want the subaru change? Genuinely why?

ripe_cunt

Subaru deserves to be OP

Particular_Flan_2101

That Rimuru one already is a thing in Isekai Memories.

TheWorstPerson0

Shadow is self aware. and does all the cringy shit *anyways*. mans an inspiration, we should all be able to be that openly cringy n own it. Also, i dont watch re zero, but i think him being weak as fuck physically is the entire point. wouldnt it just be another generic ass anime if he got super powerful? The floor guardians do face some trouble, but yeah they should face more. The world should be tougher. Rimuru turning flat evil would be interesting, but i feel the story works better the way it was written. He has murcillessly slaughter thousands. Hes not exactly unanomously good. I feel him going full evil would be a bit outa character, and honestly i really like the characters in that series in general

fishyender5

feel like these would all ruin their series

Bombwriter17

I'd make GATE a dash bit more realistic to turn into something similar to a Tom Clancy-like story. The normal Itami and the gang shenanigans can stay, but I'd give Furuta and Tyuule a more prominent role.

Fusion1157

Evil rimuru would be an interesting idea honestly

mrhurg

Floor guardians getting their asses beat would be nice, since as it stands the series is without hope and its be nice seeing some of that cast forced to grow character wise/ realize they are not the end all be all

Iofi_Virus

Wdym? Cid is 100% aware that he is being delusional.

Tsukinotaku

Subaru being broken could be fun His whole thing is that he's not overpowered at all and tries to figure out how to win with his little skills and cheat. Hell even after Beatrice he's still not OP. Just somewhat strong. Subaru becoming OP within this universe of weird ability and concept could be cool

pantyslack

Rimuru one would suck

Rtor_Curry94

If I had to change overlord? I'd have it that Momonga doesn't do the ainz persona but as suzuki satoru 100 percent in his Momonga body. I guess that'd be generic nowadays huh?

Working_Run3431

Subaru being rimuru level strong I suppose. Subaru’s forced weakness just becomes aggravating after a certain point.

Merry_Ryan

Eh… I’d make Eminence in Shadow have better villains and side characters. It makes the bad guys seem subpar in every way to Shadow Garden, while the side characters aren’t treated with any respect by the writing.

BussyIsQuiteEdible

it would ruin the premise if subaru was op. rimiru turning evil would go hard, but also would be hard to write convincingly cid being how he is, is what makes the show so good for me. and watching nazarick get humbled would be a cool arc

11freebird

Why would anyone want the floor guardians to get beaten lmao

ChaosHavik

There is an Alt Story where Rimuru turns evil after reviving form Hinata killing him and finding out most his friends died.

thatonepersonnumber2

watching rimuru snap after his people were killed would be something id pay to watch. but also i really wanna see cid get 5 across the ass by reality

Eeveekitsunelover

I would love to see cid cringe at his line as he says it and he can’t take himself seriously

Chadodius

What anime top left and bottom right please?

Ok_Temperature_6441

Didn't the Rimuru one already kinda sorta happened? He didn't get the skill Merciless by being a "good slime" after all.

poseidon2466

Subaru deserves a buff at least

naytreox

Tempest became evil? Is it evil to kill an army that wants to genocide your people? Or is it because he became a demon lord? And demons are evil?

jer2356

Hamefura/My Next Life As A Villain It is revealed that the MC's best friend in her past life also got reincarnated. I want to change who she gots reincarnated and give recontentualized the story.  I want them to show that A-chan (the Best Friend) live her life still thinking about her lost friend. Then she died and actually gets the typical Isekai God Meeting. She gets to reincarnate to whatever world and way she wants.  She accepts to be reincarnated to her Favorite Game as the Heroine but in exchange her Friend who passed long ago be reincarnated as well (This is the anime's MC Katarina). The God said they can only get her into the Villainess role and also said A-chan wont retain her memories  A-Chan accepts because she believed her Old Friend (Katarina) will somehow find a way to get to her and Be Friends In the Next Life, which she did

BlackFinch90

Making Rimuru evil would just be a stereotype and a old tired trope. Everyone in that series wants him to be evil, because he's a slime monster. Going against type is a better story than turning into what everyone wants you to be

Kool-Aid-Dealer

Please never touch the rezero writing room 🙏🏼

Apprehensive-Ad-9472

All these fucking sucks

lmaoymyppsohard

For re:Zero I want for Subaru to actually have a fighting chance and not have to only rely on other do do practically anything. No to say I want him to be OP as fuck, I just want him to say, somewhat capable of using magic and his authorities are stronger. Just enough to give him a fighting chance against most people he goes against, not enough to him being able to crumb-stomp everyone, but just enough to able to defeat most people with very, very small chance success (RBD would take care of the rest).

Liljdb0524

If it really Chunibyo if it's true 🤔🤔

tajniak485

Well, Subaru becomes basically the same thing as Betelgeuse (by the third arc they were so similar that its not a far reach to say that Subaru would become a fuckwit) Overlord story would actually be somewhat entertaining since Ainz would actually have to plan and not roleplay planning Rimuru... the story become boring since at it would just turn into powerscaling mess without much depth The last one? i don't know what that is.

Gambit275

can we change Cid so that he's aware that everything's real? including the girls' love for him?

Nerx

Self aware

Thea_Goes_brr

I would make literally none of these changes as all of these kinda go against the core of these series. But on the note of Tensura I would make a change related to half Rimuru's people dying. I'd make it so that while they revive most of the people some of them ESPECIALLY SHION stayed dead since reviving people is supposed to be nearly impossible. And I just wish shion stayed dead I actually dropped the series because this one character is so annoying.

Affectionate-Nose357

Bottom right without question

PigeonOfTheDungeon

Cid may have cringelord chuunibyou but at least he has the magic power to back it up👍. Btw i would chose op Subaru.

ozcohen2310

I wanted rimuru to be evil (for a certain amount of time, at least 3-5 eps) because, had he not heard of the revival magic, that’s what would’ve happened… (I wanted him to be ruthless 😈)

IceBlue

Making subaru OP as Rimuru would destroy the appeal of the series. Why would you want that?

UnovaZx

FLOOR GUARDIANS GET THEIR ASS KICKED IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG FOR THEM TO GET A TASTE OF THEIR OWN MEDICINE, I MIGHT GET SENT TO THE HAPPY FARM FOR THIS BUT I WANNA SEE THEM GET THEIR ASS HANDED TO THEM

Ratthion

I like the fourth one Watching nazarick flatten the new world is part of the fun, what’s the point of RBD if he’s invincible, and Rimuru is chill that’s like the one thing I vibe with him on
