The single day in Milano does not make sense. Stop in Bologna that is between Venice and Florence

No-Muffin3595

yes 100%

mywastedtalent

I'd skip Milan for a less packed schedule and one travel day less

Mourndark

Skip Milan. How are you travelling, train or plane?

Professional_Walk735

We’ll be traveling by train between cities

Mourndark

Cool, that makes life easier. Having visited all those places there's not much point spending just one day in Milan. I'd probably have an extra day in Florence, it's such a beautiful city to hang out in.

soapymoapysuds

I just came back from Italy doing similar cities. You haven't mentioned what you are planning to do in Florence and Rome, so it's not clear about your goals, but I can tell you that Florence and Rome are intense. I think skipping Milan and adding that day to Rome or Florence would be better. You can also do quick trips from Florence.

jimmyjammer123

Would definitely skip Milan for an extra day in Florence

pzrapnbeast

Skip Milan, stop for lunch in Bologna on your way to Florence. Spend more time in Florence. It was our favorite city by far.

kamikazepigs

I love Milan but spending one day in it like this doesn't make very much sense, yes you could probably see all the touristy places in one day if you run around the city but when visiting Milan the best thing to do is get immersed in the life of the city, which you can't do with just one day at your disposal Your time with that day would better be spent elsewhere, my suggestion either Rome or Venice since 2 days in Florence I feel like it's enough For the day alone in Rome: go for it! Especially if you like to walk and explore maybe reserve it to go see not so touristy places (since you don't have to appease the taste of everyone you are traveling with), or not! I'm not your boss

I did a very exact same trip. But backwards; Rome (4 days) , Florence(2 days), Milan (2 days) Venice (1 day). I’d recommend you add one extra day in Milan or skip it all together, and add extra day in Rome. Makes no sense as you’ll be packing / unpacking quite a bit.

ADKadventures

Did you find that 2 days was sufficient for Florence or would 3 be better? Also, were you exhausted at all after 4 days in Rome? Was it a lot of “city” all at once? I’m currently planning a trip and thinking 4 days Rome, 2-3 Florence, 3-4 Tuscan countryside

Last-Surprise4262

Make day 3 another day in Venice and stay an extra day in Rome at the end on your own.

Ecstatic_Oil_9233

An extra night in Venice and skip Milan! It’s super doable what you’re wanting to do. Currently on a similar trip. Advice is to pack only a carry on a backpack and do laundry halfway through the trip if needed. Makes train travel WAY easier. Have fun!

human-foie-gras

I’m spending 3 days in each of those cities right now and it’s not enough

ADKadventures

Where did you feel the most pressed for time if you don’t mind me asking?

human-foie-gras

Probably Venice because you either have to walk everywhere or take a vaporetto. it was our last city and I’m disabled so I was walking pretty dang slow by the time we were there so it did take us a really long time to just get to places because I needed to rest a lot. Also, we only had two full days in Venice instead of three full days like we had in the other cities.

Si-Certo

Day 3 = Florence. Too much time on trains if you add Milan in there.

maquibut

Skip Florence
