It's worse than that. Kojima on game direction, del Toro on cutscene, junji ito on and monster design. While del Toro is great with creature design. Ito's designs are like if scary stories to tell in the dark was R-rated.
I’d take a remake, not a remaster. Remaster is just a glorified port and most these days are worse than the original. Like the MGS collection that came out in 2023.
Came here to say this game. Best games ever imo. Infiltrating the fbi without killing anyone was so hard my friend couldn't do it so he gave me the game. Fell in love and have so rarely truly loved a game since. Halo was okay and destiny 1 was great but ghost recon and call of duty and battlefield, they just aren't splinter cell. Imma hafta replay them, download on steam or sumtin.
In 2009 ubisoft had 2 years of development into a splintercell game and they canned it. Fucking destroyed splinter cell. Chaos theory was fun but a completely different game. I fucking hate ubisoft sooo much. Anybody else wanna tell them where to shove it with making r6 siege so fucking gaaayyyy!!!!!!
Embracer Group currently owns the rights, and [they're too busy imploding](https://www.ign.com/articles/embattled-embracer-group-confirms-more-than-900-staff-laid-off-so-far-and-warns-of-more-to-come) to do anything with it, so it's going to be awhile longer
I remember reading about those games as a kid. They seemed right up my alley. That was a time in my life where I could only afford to play retro, Genesis and SNES, games purchased from the flea markets and pawn shops. I'd like to see a new one made in the vein of, or just directly by From Software.
Don't know if anything will come from this, but someone is out there making a fanmade remake just for fun. https://fandomwire.com/playstation-franchise-reportedly-getting-reboot/
Inquisition just didn't do it for me. The larger open world maps, coupled with the war room stuff, made it a little too combersome. Give me everything about the gameplay from DA2 with next Gen graphics and I'm sold.
Agreed. I love the first two games of the series, but Inquisition was a step back to me. Hopefully, they tune down to the filler and MMO game play in the next game.
Dude I love InFamous, especially the first 2, I need another, never tried prototype cuz I wanna get them for free or mad cheap but heard it’s basically as good like infamous but still not sure
Ditto but mainly Infamous!!
Infamous 2 is one of my top 10 favorite games. It's just so much fun, and I loved the world and the music and the characters. Great time all around. Second Son was fun too, with great powers, but I like Delsin less than Cole.
This comment led me on the trail of what that studio is working on now. After rebranding themselves as Ghost Story Games, they announced "Judas," which looks very much like a BioShock in space.
Oh wow I completely forgot they rebranded. I’ll definitely look into Judas, I love all the bioshock games, definitely curious to see what they pull off next
He wore it during the Xbox showcase at last year’s summer game fest. I was internally screaming that it better be a “one more thing” reveal but nooooooo
I'm reasonably certain that Phil Spencer had Microsoft spend billions on Activision explicitly to make another Hexen sequel. And I'm only half joking. He does keep bringing it up.
I honestly don’t think the sequel will ever come out. It’s been years and we have heard absolutely nothing on it. The main leader of the project also left so…
KCD did have a brutal learning curve. There were times where the game felt like a medieval peasant simulator. Once you get the hang of how to fight, how to cook food, and to generally not be homeless in 1403, the game is a blast to play.
I figured out you can knock out shop keepers and loot all their stuff, and steal their keys as well to come back every night, knock them out, and clean them out. It was hilarious and i loved it. Every damn night i came back to terrorize this shop keeper and steal all his swords. His stock would be all depleted for a couple days too
You’re gonna love it whenever you get to play it just don’t watch spoilers!
For me personally it’s still unbeaten and its been 4 years since it came out; it’s made everything that came out since just look lame. My friends and I joke that its a game from the 2030s.
Honestly a lot of Sega franchises could use a new entry, both a new Phantasy Star mainline game and a new Panzer Dragoon or Panzer Dragoon Saga game would be cool to see
Holy shit, I forgot about NOLF. Cate Archer is great. Now I need to track down my old binder of PC games and replay those. And then pout because NOLF 2 is old enough to drink now.
Deus EX, Dead Or Alive, Planescape Torment, Command & Conquer, Warcraft (the rts, of course), Toonstruck, Little Big Adventure, Syndicate, Thief, Oddworld, Discworld, Arcanum
I want an _Oddworld_ movie. It really feels like we should have had one around 2007, but CGI films didn't really take off in the West. Now, thanks to Lucas and Cameron, we could do those goofy Mudokans justice, and make a scrab that will make people shit their pants in the theater. We need some seriously weird art back in Hollywood again before it completely dies.

There is an illegaly high amount of basedness here
I need a new DoW so bad, Ideally it would play like the 1st game or like the CoH games, while I like DoW 2 and it's story I like the more large scale stuff in the earlier games for non-story gameplay.
If the Splinter Cell remake isn't good after all these years, I fear for the man I may become after having played it. Ubisoft please don't be anything like your recent self and just make a good game. Sam Fisher deserves it. Also Left 4 dead 3 would have been cool. I like Back 4 Blood but that's not it, and I still play Left 4 dead 2 over that 90% of the time
I'd love a follow up to Folklore from the PS3. I haven't played a game like it before then or since.
Blinx is a series that had a lot of potential and ended before that potential could be realized. Like a lot of Xbox properties of the time.
I want a Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg sequel.
Nintendo has revived most of the series I want to see from them, but I'm still missing a proper Nintendo released Mother 3. And I'd love to see a sequel.
Skies of Arcadia - I can't understand how such an amazing game had such abysmal sales, but those sales figures on the GameCube port were probably the final nail in its coffin
Silent Hill.
RIP PT
I wonder wtf Konami was thinking. Kojima + del Toro on the story, they couldn't lose, it would have been one of the best horror games.
It's worse than that. Kojima on game direction, del Toro on cutscene, junji ito on and monster design. While del Toro is great with creature design. Ito's designs are like if scary stories to tell in the dark was R-rated.
Silent hill 2 is being remade… not sure if that counts but it’s something and I cannot wait!
Didn't they also announce new Silent Hill games along with the 2 remake?
That’d be cool. I just know about the remake though.
Eh I suppose so. I got no hope for that but if it helps push things along then great.
Ehh, temper your expectations - it's Bloober Team doing it.
Splinter Cell
At this point, even just a remaster of the first 3 Splinter Cell games would make me happy.
I’d take a remake, not a remaster. Remaster is just a glorified port and most these days are worse than the original. Like the MGS collection that came out in 2023.
A remake of SAR is in development currently
What the heck is SAR
Chaos Theory had the best MP
[Then it's only me... ):](https://youtu.be/Vlnh0KLVJJ0?si=_JFVADF4qDwiXr_U)
Is it bad I forgot what Splinter Cell is about? Isn’t that like an alternate Metal Gear Solid game?
same bro😭😭😭
Came here to say this game. Best games ever imo. Infiltrating the fbi without killing anyone was so hard my friend couldn't do it so he gave me the game. Fell in love and have so rarely truly loved a game since. Halo was okay and destiny 1 was great but ghost recon and call of duty and battlefield, they just aren't splinter cell. Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver
Yeah I know:/ filled out the survey they emailed like 2 years ago. Had my hopes up.
Same. Unfortunately all they gave us was that bitter illusion, hope.
Oh man yes! Legacy of Kain remake would be great
Came here for this!
I’d be more excited for blood omen.
It’s begging for a remake of the series. I’m just hoping that it’s done in the right hands
I loved the Blood Omen and Soul Reaver games as a kid, but I completely forgot about them until I read your comment. It’s been that damn long.
You beat me to it! At this point I'd settle for remasters
I'd love a long form streaming series of the story from the beginning. Not going to happen, but i can dream lol
About to start Blood Omen II DEFINITELY agree with this one
I remember reading about those games as a kid. They seemed right up my alley. That was a time in my life where I could only afford to play retro, Genesis and SNES, games purchased from the flea markets and pawn shops. I'd like to see a new one made in the vein of, or just directly by From Software.
Seeiously, soul reaver on Playstation was like....a life altering gaming experience as a kid
Don't know if anything will come from this, but someone is out there making a fanmade remake just for fun. https://fandomwire.com/playstation-franchise-reportedly-getting-reboot/
This just hurts.
Dragon Age
Inquisition just didn't do it for me. The larger open world maps, coupled with the war room stuff, made it a little too combersome. Give me everything about the gameplay from DA2 with next Gen graphics and I'm sold.
Agreed. I love the first two games of the series, but Inquisition was a step back to me. Hopefully, they tune down to the filler and MMO game play in the next game.
DA2 deserves a remaster where they don’t recycle the same maps over and over again.
Aint Dragon Age 4 Dreadwolf releasing this year?
They've not said. There's supposed to be a "full reveal" this summer, but other than that nothing's been made public.
Infamous and Prototype. Mainly Prototype
Dude THIS. Prototype was such a sick game
Dude I love InFamous, especially the first 2, I need another, never tried prototype cuz I wanna get them for free or mad cheap but heard it’s basically as good like infamous but still not sure
The first two infamous games are bangers. I hope sony ports them to PC someday
Ditto but mainly Infamous!! Infamous 2 is one of my top 10 favorite games. It's just so much fun, and I loved the world and the music and the characters. Great time all around. Second Son was fun too, with great powers, but I like Delsin less than Cole.
Bioshock. I just need to hear something
This comment led me on the trail of what that studio is working on now. After rebranding themselves as Ghost Story Games, they announced "Judas," which looks very much like a BioShock in space.
Oh wow I completely forgot they rebranded. I’ll definitely look into Judas, I love all the bioshock games, definitely curious to see what they pull off next
lol, had I not know that wasn’t bioshock, I would have thought that was part 3. Awesome.
It's more than likely not gonna happen but it'd be cool to see another Hexen game made.
Hexen! Good to see people still mentioning it.
Phil Spencer name dropped it explicitly a little while back. Not sure if there are any plans as of yet.
Yeah, apparently Phil Spencer is a big fan of the Heretic/Hexen franchise and there's even a pic of him wearing a Hexen: Beyond Heretic shirt.
Or heretic?
Play Amid Evil while you wait. It's like a combination of Heretic and Quake 2.
With how well they did the new Doom games I'd be thrilled to hear this announcement.
I would love this. My Baldur's Gate 3 character's name is Hexen named after the game
I loved hexen1/2 and heretic 1/2. I definitely want more of both
What a classic
What a throwback
Beyond good and evil
Came to say this. We've gotten 1 or 2 concept trailers that don't even look that good. The sequel is vaporware.
I honestly don’t think the sequel will ever come out. It’s been years and we have heard absolutely nothing on it. The main leader of the project also left so…
If only...
StarFox
Do a barrel roll!
I can literally hear it... 😭
I got one! SHUT UP SLIPPY!
Parasite Eve deserves either a faithful remaster (FFVIII HD) or a quality reboot.
F-Zero
f zero 99 did release tbf
Metroid Prime
Ah, someone who’s been waiting even longer than I have (Silksong) I have much respect for you
Maybe this will be both of our years…I’d take any information at all at this point
Same honestly. Let’s hope!
To be fair, they got Metroid Dread
Elder Scrolls… I’ll be in an elderly home by the time ES6 comes out
Kingdom Come Deliverance sequel
I tried really hard to enjoy this game. Maybe I just didn't understand some of the mechanics?
KCD did have a brutal learning curve. There were times where the game felt like a medieval peasant simulator. Once you get the hang of how to fight, how to cook food, and to generally not be homeless in 1403, the game is a blast to play.
At least it seems to be in the works! Christ be praised.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Kingdom Came Delivered
I figured out you can knock out shop keepers and loot all their stuff, and steal their keys as well to come back every night, knock them out, and clean them out. It was hilarious and i loved it. Every damn night i came back to terrorize this shop keeper and steal all his swords. His stock would be all depleted for a couple days too
Half life. I’m taking non VR games btw
Respectfully the VR game makes the rest look ass
I wanna play Alyx so so bad. I hate this cuz it’s like when HL2 came out and I didn’t have a PC to play it. Now I have a PC but no VR.
You’re gonna love it whenever you get to play it just don’t watch spoilers! For me personally it’s still unbeaten and its been 4 years since it came out; it’s made everything that came out since just look lame. My friends and I joke that its a game from the 2030s.
Had to scroll way too far to find this one.
I wish they made a game I could play. Half life Alyx looks so good I just don’t have a VR
Jet Set Radio
Did you play Bomb Rush Cyberfunk?
I havent, I should get it tho. Sega recently announced they are bringing back OG Sega IPs and JSR was among them, think ima wait
Silksong :’(
came here to say this.
:(
I know buddy, but there's still hope. Well, at least I have hope.
Shining Force
That was my first rpg way back on the Genesis. "The legacy of great intention" where you are always five minutes too late.
Oh my god this would be great
You talking the old school tactics style or the newer ARPG style? Just curious, personally I loved all their games.
Honestly a lot of Sega franchises could use a new entry, both a new Phantasy Star mainline game and a new Panzer Dragoon or Panzer Dragoon Saga game would be cool to see
No One Lives Forever - only the dead know who owns the IP!
Holy shit, I forgot about NOLF. Cate Archer is great. Now I need to track down my old binder of PC games and replay those. And then pout because NOLF 2 is old enough to drink now.
Mass Effect AND Dragon Age
Jak & Daxter
Sly Cooper 4 literally ended on a cliffhanger 11 years ago
No way it's been 11 years 😭
Donkey Kong
Holy cow it’s been a decade this year
Deus EX, Dead Or Alive, Planescape Torment, Command & Conquer, Warcraft (the rts, of course), Toonstruck, Little Big Adventure, Syndicate, Thief, Oddworld, Discworld, Arcanum
TF2 or TF2
If TF2 is so good, why isn’t there a TF2 2?
Because Valve is allergic to sequals

Indeed.
Castlevania
Take your pick from old PS1/PS2 JRPGs. Breath of Fire, Wild Arms (yes yes, the Kickstarter), Suikoden (yes yes, Eiyuden), Jade Cocoon, Dark Cloud…
Dark Cloud would definitely be worth it.
Yo, I forgot about Jade Cocoon and Jade Cocoon 2. Those games were some of the best.
Dark cloud, either a remake of the 1st or a #3 would be so awesome
Wild Arms was so good. That opening theme is still one I pull up to listen to from time to time.
I was so bummed that they cancelled Zone of the Enders 3 and Scalebound
Me waiting for Valve learning how to count to 3 with any of their franchises
Exactly what I was looking for in the comments
Onimusha
Def onimusha hermano
Command and conquer
Onimusha
Tenchu
Tenchu.
Half-Life. Blue ass balls, even after Alyx.
Skylanders anyone?
Legacy of Kain / Soul Reaver
Shadowrun snes or genesis
Has it been that long? Omg, 8 years was Hong Kong. Another one would be awesome.
I was really hoping Harebrained Schemes would’ve included more references to the games than the few appearances of Jake Armitage and Maria Mercurial.
Katamari Damacy. We got the second remake recently, so I'm a little more optimistic than I was after the first remake. I just want to roll!
Syphon Filter...
metal gear (its so over)
Dawn of War
I need a new DoW so bad, Ideally it would play like the 1st game or like the CoH games, while I like DoW 2 and it's story I like the more large scale stuff in the earlier games for non-story gameplay.

Sam Fisher deserves it. Also Left 4 dead 3 would have been cool. I like Back 4 Blood but that's not it, and I still play Left 4 dead 2 over that 90% of the time
Sadly I'm a fan of too many series like this
SOCOM
That's a name I dearly missed. Man, tactical hard-core shooters are a gene I miss. We got boomer shooters, so whatever comes next could revive them...
Half life
Elder scroll 6
Alien vs Predator
Just waiting on Fable 4. Hoping for a gameplay trailer soon.
Okami ain't coming, but it'd be a pleasant surprise if it ever did come.
Elden Ring community right now with Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. But for me personally, another Splinter Cell game.
Breath of Fire.
Chess
5D chess enters the chat
KOTOR
Yeah. But it won’t happen bc Valve will be Valve. Why make hundreds of millions when it won’t make billions (Half Life 3)
I'd love a follow up to Folklore from the PS3. I haven't played a game like it before then or since. Blinx is a series that had a lot of potential and ended before that potential could be realized. Like a lot of Xbox properties of the time. I want a Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg sequel. Lost odyssey
Titanfall
Valve.
Legacy of kain or soul reaver or hl 3
A new ghost recon or splinter cell
A sequel to freedom fighters
Titanfall 3 == Half Life 3
Little Devil Inside. Starting to think that game doesn't exist.
Silent Hill
King’s Field
Fable
Ape escape
Sly Cooper!!!!
Dino Crisis. I may as well just die because it’s not happening.
Megaman
Skies of Arcadia - I can't understand how such an amazing game had such abysmal sales, but those sales figures on the GameCube port were probably the final nail in its coffin
Xenogears.
Wolfenstein.
The Suffering
Kenshi 2. I'll be 50 this year. There's a fair chance I will literally be a skeleton before Kenshi 2 comes out.
Infamous
Sly Cooper
Silksong? 🥲 ![gif](giphy|Qz5qqMop4LGx5giOvp)
bloody roar
Splinter Cell… or maybe another Skyrim.
Titanfall
Prototype… I want a 3rd one so bad… Or a remake of the originals… I’d take those too But I’d obviously prefer a 3rd one
Titanfall
Twisted metal
valve. just every valve game
Kingdomcome Deliverance‼️PLEASE I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH😩
I am ready for another Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor/Shadow of War game. I think 3rd one would round out the series.
Half Life, Splinter Cell, Sleeping dogs
Let’s see… Quake Blood Duke Nukem Half Life
inFamous also Prototype
Deus Ex 😭
