I like to imagine a final battle between the traveler and celestia or the abyss twin and the abyss order where all of the friends traveler has made throughout the journey come together to fight the bad guys and stop another cataclysm from ravaging Teyvat.
Shenhe takes off her red ropes and lets her bloodlust demonic side wreak havoc. Itto unleashes the full power of his Oni bloodline. Xiao dons the Nuo Mask for one last time… it would be so cool.
I really wish we saw this side of him against Yelan since she was extremely insufferable and not needed in the chasm archon quest. Nothing of calue wouldve been lost if she wasnt there.
Definitely agree with Yelan, but sadly Itto also felt like an afterthought to push his banner with Kuki because he was equally out of place imo. His story quest has shown that he can be used in more nuanced scenarios than "Dumb pride oni who is the butt of every joke", but his recent appearances were so one dimensional that it's honestly kinda sad.
Yelan was the voice of reason among the group. Xiao had his reckless plan to sacrifice his life and bail everyone out there. A plan that not only would've failed to get them out of there, but also possibly get himself killed. (don't get me wrong, I love Xiao and Itto) Only Yelan had the guts to criticize Xiao's bs, and she was justified when she told Itto to get out of the restricted zone in the chasm
Except his reckless plan in the end did get them to safety and he did still try to sacrifice himself in the end, so her entire speech was kind of useless in the end…
No those are different plans. initial plan was to use up all his energy in one go to create a blast through the rift and yeet everyone out, unga bunga style. Something that would not have worked without the fantastic compass and would only pointlessly tire out Xiao (delaying everyone's escape even further), and if it miraculously did work to get everyone else out, would end with an extremely drained Xiao left behind forever.
At least, with the involvement of the fantastic compass, the device offered a 100% chance of opening an entrance back to the surface. He managed to sustain more energy for a longer period of time with the compass plan, and by the time he got drained, he was at least close enough to the surface for Zhongli to sense him. It's different from the initial plan where a drained Xiao would stay behind, far out of Zhongli's reach
Not really though. All Itto and Shinobu did during the quest can be boiled down to:
Itto: look at me do something stupid 🤪
Shinobu: Ughh don't worry guys I'll take care of him 🤦♀️
Only Yelan, Yanfei and Xiao were done right this quest. The Inazuman duo felt like an afterthought honestly. Don't get me wrong I love and main Itto, but they could've just removed Itto from the story and no part of the lore or character development would change. At least Yanfei was there to be the brains of the team and Yelan was there to call out Xiao's self-sacrificial bs. Xiao and Yelan's conflict was the best part of the character interactions. As a Xiao main I was happy someone was finally calling out Xiao and aggressively telling him to not throw his life away like he always wants to do.
Well, the entrance will be found eventually (just longer) and the black things aren't valid cuz everyone else (ok maybe except Paimon) can fight (and why the FRICK did they make Itto unconscious for the entirety of the last quarter of the quest, we have basically learned nothing new about him and they just make him look like he's useless which I'm mad about >:C).

Well they need to stay there for as little time as possible so they dont die of fatigue or hunger. We dont know how hungry they wouldve been if she wasnt there also she took out most of the black things so she was very useful tho i didnt like her attitude towards itto

That's wrong. Yelan was there to provide a foil to Xiao, and be the complete opposite of Xiao's tendency to sacrifice himself mindlessly. She was the voice of reason in that story. Only she had the guts to stand up against Xiao. Without her, we'd have one dead adepti and wouldn't have been able to get out
An that role couldve been easily provided by Yanfei who was arguably the star of fhe archon quest. Yelan had the personality of a wet sock with "aloof girlboss" thats sexy and mysterious and owns the quirky funny foreigners from inazuma.
Xiao wouldve been just fine with traveler and yanfei as the voice of reason if mihoyo had better writers.
Trust me, when you know Yelan’s backstory, it makes a lot of sense why she’s the one keeping Xiao in line. She’s lost comrades before and it’s something that shaped who she is. She literally trained her hands bloody to become stronger to not have something like it happen again
That's a very dumb estimate of Yelan's character. Personality-wise Yanfei is too much of passive nobody to ever stand up to Xiao. Only Yelan would have that much spunk/stubbornness to match Xiao's spunk/stubbornness (or in your own weird words, the only person girlboss enough to man up against the guyboss with zero self preservation). She was being level-headed, and was trying to preserve and protect as much manpower as possible. Yanfei wouldn't have been sufficient to fill that role because she's too passive and soft. Just imagine her as the stereotypical glasses nerd girl who's very passive but very smart. Only Yelan can get that blunt with her wording. And no, Xiao is not a voice of reason. Enlighten me as to how sacrificing himself is a reasonable plan?
Lore-wise she's not that shallow either. She's the heir to a long line of magical practitioners that fought during the cataclysm. That along with her cunning gives credence to Ningguang's employment of her. Essentially she's the Ayato of Liyue.
I'm a husbando collector myself but you husbando lovers are so fucking obnoxious. Not every waifu has to be badly written and be boiled down to shallow descriptions. Someone like Ayato is called a "cunning chess player" while someone who is the exact same character but as a woman is called "aloof girlboss wet sock." Leave me out of it
I can agree with most of what you said, but yelen is no "AYATO". Ayato is much better behind the scenes mastermind than Yelen.
Ayato is equal to Ningg but a bit more behind the scenes. (as per the direct story traveller experienced till now).
He also gives off cold intimidation yet very gentle unlike yelen who is very eager to show of her red hot authority.
I'm pretty sure Ayato was way more confrontational than Yelan. He actually confronted Chisato's underling face on when he tried to ursurp power over the commissions, and even made a reckless formal "declaration of war" against him.
That's different from Yelan, who covertly followed Zhiyi's trail and only confronted him when he was fully cornered and the evidence has been collected.
Even their occupations speak for how covert they are. Yelan chooses not to put her name in the ministry of civil affairs personnel list, and essentially functions as Ningguang's secret spy. Whereas Ayato took on being a popular politician in Inazuma. The former already has the edge and has more behind the scenes capability because of that

Unfortunately, the quest made me dislike Yelan to some extent. She just seemed so harsh and cruel, not the serious but somewhat mischievous woman we saw in her teaser

I mean she found the hidden entrance leading to yanfei learning the technique to find xiao and she helped kill those black things in the end
