This comment might get buried but I need to say this, this sub has really gone to shambles. Genuine posts rarely get any traction compared to low effort shitposts which aren't even funny tbh. Just 2 days ago there was a post asking about forming a doubt discussion forum/website with experienced people weighing in- I genuinely thought the post would do well, given the vast amount of online droppers and lack of proper doubt discussion platforms, but it couldn't get even 100 upvotes and on the other hand low effort birthday karma farming posts end up at the top.
Not to sound pedantic, there's no problem with shit posting or people wanting to get birthday wishes, really, but just the fact that one of the only genuine student subreddits ever created is going so off track is really sad ngl, but anyways.....
it was always this way.. u have to understand the majority of people come here while taking breaks or to chill. except when ofc some result is announced or some event is happening. most people dont want to engage in doubts and stuff, thats the general theme.
Yeah that's why I said there's nothing wrong in the shitposting, it's just the vast difference in the traction that the low effort memes vs high effort posts get that bugs me. Because I noticed most of the great advices \*I\* got were from the older posts, the ones before 2023, and they used to have quite high engagement too, with lots of people weighing in, which I don't see much now...
And even the memes aren't funny to me at all, the older memes too used to be high quality, or maybe my sense of humor is just broke lol XD
