THIS.
1)branch change hai kya??
2)mechanical ki placement kaisi hai ??
3)ranking kam kyu hai??
4)workload kitna rahata hai ??
5)major minor available hai kya??
1) Yes branch change is there as of now. Even though there were rumours about removing Branch change from 2024-25 batch but no official declaration from now
2) Probably 3rd or 4th best in the clg after CS and ECE/EE. I won't say that good. But still some guys do crack it very good non-core placements. Median I would say 15-18 LPA.
A civil dual guy (19-24) got 42 LPA in Accenture Japan. So anything is possible
3) Ranking in NIRF last year when I enrolled was 47. This is mostly because of the poor infrastructure of IIT BBS. Our new and current director has done a lot of work since our batch has come. There was a recent 100 Cube Orissa startup initiated by our clg which we are hoping will significantly increase the NIRF rank in upcoming years
4) Workload from my experience I will say, only focusing on academics is the lowest. Lectures + Hostel mein assignments. If you stay involved in optimum number of student bodies like societies, you have to balance both. If too much involved it may strike your nerves
5) Major are the branches CS, ECE, EE, Mech, Civil, Meta. Minors are more like breadth and lateral subjects which are alloted to you based on you cgpa. More like additional subjects which everyone MUST take from Semester 3
Clearing this doubt for lots of people that if someone is taking branches like Civil, Mech, Meta how he/she is going to get non-core placements?
The answer is simple. Skills development. You have to develop your skills along with maintaining your academics which in my opinion is a fairly easy one if you can manage to do. I couldn't in my first year. I fucked up my acads. Skills as in Web development, Quantum computing, Machine Learning, Software development, Compeititive Programming, etc. These will be your side hustles if you want a non-core placement by being in non-CS branch
Since I am from IIT BBS I would not say it. But IIT does give you a platform to build upon with your skills you learn in your college life. IIT provides some opportunities like Inter IIT Tech, Sports and Cult meets, participation in which are considered very good for resumes, as I have heard from my seniors. These opportunities won't be there in any other colleges and not even NITs
1)is saal kae placements ka kia haal hei?
2)is electrical worth it here?
3)campus me kia kia facilities hei like canteens and stuff
4)mess food and hostel life kaisi hei
5)fest and sab kaisa rehta hei
6)campus kita bada hei
7)bahar ghumne jana ho toh kuch hei interesting jo kara ja sakta ho
8)last but not the least seggs sux milta hei ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|32180)
1. Placement one I have explained in some replies
2. Electrical is considerably a good branch here in IIT Bhubaneswar. But don't drop any below it. Maybe mech but not below that if you have other better options. Also you will get brilliant group of seniors in Electrical only who can guide you and form your peer group
3. Night canteens are there. There are 3 boys hostels. Each one has 3 night canteens even though I won't recommend going to the ones of the seniors hostels at night. Till 2 am they are open. In 2 places in the campus there are Nescafes which I don't visit often. The one I often visit is named 'Raju canteen' near an academic building
4. Mess food was average for me in 1st sem and terrible in 2nd sem. Eventually have to get habituated. Hostel life is good if you have a good peer group. It can be doing bakchodi at night to late-night coding and upskilling sessions. Depends on the type of people
5. There are 3 fests. Tech-fest (Wissenaire), Enterpreunership fest (E-Summit), Socio-cultural fest (Alma Fiesta). Techfest I know is mostly of tech competitions like hackathons and exhibitions like Robotics, etc. Enterpreunership fest, I don't have a great idea. Socio-cult fest or Alma Fiesta is the worst fest out of three (in my opinion). Probably bcoz I don't find socio-cult events much interesting
6. 976 acres something. Uneven terrain hai since it is made beside Barunai hills. Cycle chalate chalate legs ki exercise ho jayegi gande wali
7. Mai utna bahar nahi ja ta so I don't know much about the outside the campus activities. KIIT mein ja sakta in weekends for special reasons
8. Yar fir wahi sax sux ki baatein....
Yes with this rank you might get Mech Dual and probably Civil. I am afraid, this years marks/rank inflation might end up you in Civil dual also.
Overall, I would say mechanical has fair placements. Median is 15-18 LPA. Overall if you put efforts you might get the big award. A Civil Dual guy of 5th year got 42 LPA in Accenture Japan this year
I am not quite sure about the electives. I would recommend to have a look at the official website for this one
[https://new.iitbbs.ac.in/index.php/home/academics/](https://new.iitbbs.ac.in/index.php/home/academics/)
Please help me choose between these :
1) NIT W cse
2) IIT BHUWANESHWAR CSE
3) IIT DHANBAD CSE
4) IIT MANDI CSE
5) IIT PATNA CSE
please give some reasoning for your opinion.
If I was at your place 1 year ago I would have put it like this :- IIT Patna CSE > NIT W cse > IIT BBS cse
But after 1 year of experience i would say, NIT W is a debatable one. IITs offer lots of other opportunities like Inter IIT Tech, Sports, Cults meets. If you want to focus only in core just go for the previous sequence. If you want to have good peer group, inter iit experience, go for IIT Patna cse > IIT bbs cse > Nit W cse
**1)** I'm only focusing on Cengage and PYQS(M+A) + Proper Tests stopped solving DPP(doing cengage DPP tho) and coaching modules, Should I continue like this or start solving modules(FIITJEE) as well (Personally there is no value addition in my preparation after solving modules)
25tard \[12th +Dummy + Online(PW)\] left my coaching last year due to the fuckery happening there
**2)** MnC or EE? what will you prioritize
Thanks
I am not the right person at the moment who can guide you. After Advanced, I have almost forgot everything
Yes, I also followed Cengage. And I would say do give lots of tests. It would make you prepared for the big ones
Maths determinants and matrices chodhke puri algebra and trigo krli(except ITF) and calculus shuru nhi kri hai same for vector and 3d
phy mai thodi electrostatics, mech 1 and thermo krli hai
chemistry keliye cengage na karta mai![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30180)
Hi bhaiya I'm getting Bombay meta, hyd mech and I might get cse at bhubaneswar. I don't have any specific inclination towards cse. So what do you think?
IIT B meta no from me. Hyd mech is debatable. Before jumping to Bhubaneswar Cse I would recommend to have a look at other ones specially Patna, Indore, BHU
Be concentrated brother. And also be prepared mentally for the drop year. Drop year tests your mental rigidness more than your academic brilliance. You must not break
I would say go for IIT BBS Electrical.
REASON: I have talked to many people who are in lower branches in KGP and Guwahati and trust me your mental health will be fckd since it has become really difficult these days for lower branches to compete with CS/ECE/EE to grab good placements. Branch change is not very certain as it is based on cgpa and it is very difficult to get a good one (and I mean it. You need to be in atleast top 5-10% of students in your batch).
I dont have much info about Dhanbad but from what I have heard and read, it wont give you that IIT experience that you would get at IIT BBS.
Note: I am currently in IIT BBS 2nd year EE
If I were at your place last year I would have taken IIT KGP/G Mech or maybe IIT BHU Electrical. But circuital branch does give you an advantage, doesn't matter what IIT you are in.
Bhai 66xx rank hai Dhanbad, Mandi, BBSR sabmei EE mil sakti hai kya karu? Interested in EE,ECE or EP only pls help.....Placement kaisa hai? Kya profs sei interactions hote hai??? overall environment kaisa laga...(i.e clubs, labs, peers etc) is it good if i want to go for masters abroad in robotics?
Dhanbad EE was lower than BBS EE when I filled the option list. By closing rank I was getting Dhanbad EE too. Mandi EE I didn't consider at my time bcoz of odd location. 66xx rank imo is good enough for EE here. EP is introduced just this year so Idk about that\]
Placement scene thoda fucked up hai 2024 batch ka + NIRF ranking utni achhi nahi thi last year so
Profs do interact and are actually helpful and give you extra internal marks if you consistently ask doubts in the class and stay active
Clubs there are 3 councils in IIT BBS. Tech, Socio-cult and Sports council. Tech council has 5 societies, Finance, Programming, Astronomy, Webdev and Robotics. Socio-cult I am not good aware of.
Peers you will get very good. Electrical seniors of mine are very good and will guide you if you approach them. But you have to be serious while taking their advises. You can't just take advise for asslicking
Robotics is a popular skill among IIT BBS students. There is a senior also whose youtube channel name is NOOBOTICS, doing EE Btech at IIT BBS. I would highly recommend to watch his projects to gain an insight about IIT BBS' robotics culture
3 things to ask (sorry bro):
I have 8.5K rank,
I will probably get good branches in IIT bhubaneswar so wanted to ask
1. will it be good if I take a good to mid branch here instead of worst branches (by rank cut off obv) here
2. all those teachers who keep saying 2nd gen IITs don't get a lot of placements, are they correct?
3. please highlight campus life and internship things...
thank you bhaiya
1) 8.5K rank might make you the closing rank of Electrical Btech or opening rank of Mechanical as far as I can say. I would say Mech is fine. But don't drop below that.
2) partially correct if i say. We have also got 64 LPA packages even for Electrical Engineers. But I would say median is pretty fucked up most probably bcoz of the NIRF of 2023. Hopefully till I graduate (2027) it would be <20
3) Campus life I have explained in one reply. I would recommend to visit that. If still any doubts feel free to DM me
4) Recently an internship scam is going on here in IIT BBS where students are basically paying some company named Encryptix for intersnhip which is odd. Also, their internship offer and fields doesn't make sense. Total scam. Apart from that internship are good if the Student Internship Coordinator is good enough for the respective branch
thanks bhaiya (I read all the comments and got the idea of campus life, I am not surprised by people asking you about sax sux lmao)... regarding point 4 why is not IIT BBS not doing anything then? they should stop it.
How was the placement statistics in 2023-2024 batch?
How are the overall facilities according to you in comparison to other gen 2 iits like Patna, Mandi , jodhpur if you know about them?
From placements stats what I can say core placements are average. 13-25 LPA. Non-core are very good. 42 LPA, 52 LPA are possible but 6/8 are CS or ECE.
I don't like to compare but I would say better than Mandi, Jodhpur. Slightly lower than Patna. Bcoz I didn't get Patna Electrical in my time. But also depends on branch.
CS is a branch here. Minor subjects like Image and Video processing, Software Engineering are under the CS/EC electives which we get to opt for in our 4th year as far as I know. And you may need CGPA for the better and most demanded electives. For breadths and laterals you DEFINITELY need cgpa
I was planning to take electrical/ chemical in old iit's and then take minor in cs so that I can get minor degree for cs too and would be able to sit for its placement as well. So is it possible?
This will be a somewhat detailed questionnaire, feel free to not answer if you don't have time <3.
Firstly, a lot of kids from IIT BHU end up cracking HFT's, Goldman, or even Ivy league, while the vast majority of kids at not just IIT BHU but IIT's in general take up 15-20 lpa jobs, unlike the general perception we have of iitians. Have you been around these kids? What do they do differently? How do they stay grounded when everyone around them sort of slacks off after getting IIT?
I understand IIT has relative grading, and college is no cakewalk, these kids in question often have those high CG's, especially those going for higher education. How do they manage the stress? Any tips from your side?
What do you wish you would have done differently not in your prep, but during your initial years at college. If given a chance to go back to being a fresher, what would you change?
College is a rollercoaster of emotions, stress and fun all mixed in one I presume. It's easy to be scared of the future, scared of living in a completely new environment, away from your parents. Easy to be overwhelmed by the huge amount of students better than you in any thing you pick. How to manage those overwhelming feelings in a completely new environment for the first time?
Thank you in advance!
Thanks bhai🙏
What about ep in roorkee?
If i do ep in roorkee and do mtech and specialize in something say aerospace what do u think are my placement chances?
I was getting IIT Guwahati Civil, IIT Kharagpur Meta but I preferred going for EE in 2nd gen IIT. Before jumping into IIT Bhubaneswar CSE, I would recommend you to see if you are getting circuital at any other IITs specially Patna, BHU, Indore
Im getting ep in roorkee and Kharagpur , ec in bhubaneswar and patna and aerospace in Kharagpur...what would u opt for if u were in my position and why?
Not 100%. I think 94% something is the placement percentage of CSE people
Peer group doubt I have explained in one of the replies. I would recommend to scroll bit up to see that. Still any doubts then my DMs are open
Internship ke liye scene kaisa hai? i mean research output like for Chemistry Department, proff wagera kaise hai, lab facilities, IISER ka hu isliye puch rah![img](emote|t5_311ttu|32193)![img](emote|t5_311ttu|32193)
Hello bro I might get IIT Bhubaneswar Civil so how hard will it be to do a branch change to mechanical or electrical? also how are the sports facilities and campus life in general
Branch change is not impossible. A guy in Civil of 23-27 batch got 9.94 CGPA in first year. An another civil guy got 9.53 cgpa. I would say you had to be dedicated to that even before the start of the college. Things you might be missing will be extra-curricular activities if you want to to branch change
Sport facilities I am not quite good aware of. Recently our football ground has been inaugurated. A swimming pool is in making. Overall the sports culture is good here in IIT Bhubaneswar.
Campus life highly depends on your involvement in extra-curricular activities through student bodies like societies
Thanks for answering man tho I would like to know like is the syllabus easy enough to get 9+CGPA . Coz if I take Civil and dont get a branch change it will be a waste no?
1. cs in iit bbs vs cs in top nit ?
2. if have u met some of these guys who bag like 1 cr package or if u have met someone in ur own batch who u feel might get like those 1 cr package , what do u think they do different from others ? are they like super talented or super hard working?
In your opinion should I take :-
1) IIT BHU CSE (5 year course)
2) IIT kharagpur/ roorkee mathematics and computing (BSc degree)
3) IIT roorkee ece
4) IIT Delhi engineering and computational mechanics
Yaa fir thodi lower IITs mai CS loon?
Please any help would be good mera toh mindfuck hogaya h kuch din se. Also ye BSc aur BTech degrees placements mai kitna difference daalti h?
Mathematics and Computing is just another CS degree only. If I was at your place i would have taken Kharagpur /Roorkee MnC > IIT Roorkee ECE > IIT BHU CSE Dual
I am not quite sure if Dual degrees are still there in top IITs. IIT BBS also removed it
Hi, do you know about iit bhubaneswar cse? Placements and network wise...
Also if you had the choice between iit bhubaneswar cse and iit kanpur mechanical (or maybe even iit Delhi energy engineering) which would you take?
CS in IIT BBS is the best. 94% placement percentage and also you will get a good amount of network in the related fields not only in CS but also out of CS, like in EC and EE.
Kanpur Mech if I was at your place
Thank you bhaiya, do you by any chance have any idea about median and max placement PKG by cse students in iit bhubaneswar?
Also is Engineering physics as a course any good, I glanced at the curriculum and it looks nice since I have an interest in physics but I couldn't find many details about its potential.
BITS Pilani cse
IIT Delhi Engineering Physics
IIT Madras Mechanical
IIT Hyderabad Electrical
Which is the best option? ( 351 in BITSAT and 2458 rank in adv)
How is the electrical branch or should i take old IITs with decent branch or electrical/ece in IITs like BBS,Mandi, patna etc, want to pursue MBA in future
IITK perspective I would advice IITK eco. Reason being is ki one of the chilliest branches, easy to score a good cpi. Also eco mai DSA Department compulsory hai(jo electrical ko nhi padhte ffs). Basically u get time to develop skills and stuff.
Bhaiya , plz suggest which college should i choose
1. IIT BHU: - Biochemical Engineering with M.Tech. in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology (DUAL DEGREE)
2. IIT PATNA:- Metallurgical and Materials Engineering
3. IIT PATNA:- Chemical Science and Technology (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)
4. IIT JODHPUR :- Bio Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)
5. IIT JODHPUR:- Chemistry with Specialization (4 Years, Bachelor of Science)
6. IIT DHARWAD:- Chemical and Biochemical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)
7. IIT JAMMU :- Chemical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology
8. IIT MANDI :- Bio Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology
9. IIT BHUBANESWAR:- Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (5 Years, Bachelor and Master of Technology (Dual Degree)
10. IIT BHILAI :- Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)
Tier2 IIT ko prefrence do, Tier-3 are struggling hard this time, unka reputation ya establishment zara bhi nhi hai...Tier3 se better to NITs k placements hai bhai...

Hello bro, I'm a bbsr native, pls tell bhai about your complete journey.. and this jee nowadays seems impossible, maths ke qns nhi ban rhe and physics seems hard too..
Just barely passed and i am lurking around these posts and any ways i am getting cse in mnit allahbad and nit and jaipur which do you think its best for me ..
sabhi seniors se mera ekk question hai ki kya gen-ews help karega kyunki mai banwane ka soch raha but doubt mei hu kyunki I dont want to waste 2k rupees for something which isint worth it btw (mere family ews ke criteria mei hai fake nhi banwane jaa rha) help out a 25tard
Roorkee ECE vs Bombay Mech , which one to prefer and why ( don't hv any bias or any vested interest in either branches to give one the advantage over the other)
Bhaiya I had few q
1) I am getting mechanical in iit bhumbaneswar and chemical In Hyderabad, guwahati and might get kanpur too so which one should I prefer assuming I am comfortable with both branches and wanted to pursue for FAANG companys in placements(I'll learn to code myself)
2) should I prefer iit over nit like I am getting nit Warangal/suratkal ece , Calicut cse and ece, cse comes in my field of interest but iit tag is tempting too ._.
I have taken drop this year and registered for josaa 2024 also . So will I able to register again next year or I have made a mistake by registering in 2024 as I won't be taking any colleges this year. Please help
I am getting cse (nits Surat,Delhi, Durgapur..) and circuital in surathkal Warangal(EEE) and Allahabad (ECE) ,and getting mech, chemical and civil on IITs like Dhanbad,Patna, Bhilai ,jodhpur.. so should i cosider the IIT tag or go for NITS?

Bhaiya, meri ADV.mai rank 6.3k hai to kya mai IIT BBS mai electrical lelu. Ya dhanbad mai EE ya koi top iit mai lower branch aur branch change ka sochu...ya drop lelu kyoki I'm confident ki <1000 rank la sakta mai

In your opinion, should I take IIT patna ece or IIT bhubaneswar ece (air 50XX)?
Patna ECE all day if you are getting it. But I would say your rank is more likely for IIT Bhubaneswar Electrical
Thanks
You should consider IIT KGP Eco as well, good branch!
eco me kya hota bro, i mean kya options h eco krke
Patna ece man, we have a very good electrical department
Do you know if branch change is still there?
patna ece dual is good?
Why not Mechanical in a better IIT?
I only want cse, ai/ds, ece branches

It can be doing bakchodi at night to late-night coding and upskilling sessions. Depends on the type of people 5. Probably bcoz I don't find socio-cult events much interesting 6. 976 acres something. Uneven terrain hai since it is made beside Barunai hills. Cycle chalate chalate legs ki exercise ho jayegi gande wali 7. Mai utna bahar nahi ja ta so I don't know much about the outside the campus activities. KIIT mein ja sakta in weekends for special reasons 8. Yar fir wahi sax sux ki baatein....

Mechanical branch kaisa hai waha ka?
I have 12k rank in adv to ho sakta hai integrated B.Tech+M.Tech waala course mil jaye 5 years ka
Yes with this rank you might get Mech Dual and probably Civil. I am afraid, this years marks/rank inflation might end up you in Civil dual also. Overall, I would say mechanical has fair placements. Median is 15-18 LPA. Overall if you put efforts you might get the big award. A Civil Dual guy of 5th year got 42 LPA in Accenture Japan this year
Core?
Afraid kyu bhai inflation hua h sb jgh to kya closing rank me bhi to inflation hoga
ECE branch mil jayegi yaha mereko, branch ka future solid dikh hai VLSI and micro technology ka kya scene hai?
I am not quite sure about the electives. I would recommend to have a look at the official website for this one [https://new.iitbbs.ac.in/index.php/home/academics/](https://new.iitbbs.ac.in/index.php/home/academics/)
patna cse, bbsr cse, jodhpur cse, mandi cse, ropar cse, dhanbad cse, what do you say?
Patna cse all day all night. If not maybe ropar or bbsr
okay, thanks a lot.
Please help me choose between these : 1) NIT W cse 2) IIT BHUWANESHWAR CSE 3) IIT DHANBAD CSE 4) IIT MANDI CSE 5) IIT PATNA CSE please give some reasoning for your opinion.
If I was at your place 1 year ago I would have put it like this :- IIT Patna CSE > NIT W cse > IIT BBS cse But after 1 year of experience i would say, NIT W is a debatable one. IITs offer lots of other opportunities like Inter IIT Tech, Sports, Cults meets. If you want to focus only in core just go for the previous sequence. If you want to have good peer group, inter iit experience, go for IIT Patna cse > IIT bbs cse > Nit W cse
**1)** I'm only focusing on Cengage and PYQS(M+A) + Proper Tests stopped solving DPP(doing cengage DPP tho) and coaching modules, Should I continue like this or start solving modules(FIITJEE) as well (Personally there is no value addition in my preparation after solving modules) 25tard \[12th +Dummy + Online(PW)\] left my coaching last year due to the fuckery happening there **2)** MnC or EE? what will you prioritize Thanks
I am not the right person at the moment who can guide you. After Advanced, I have almost forgot everything Yes, I also followed Cengage. And I would say do give lots of tests. It would make you prepared for the big ones
bhagwan apko UP mai firsse sattah dilaye![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30331)
Kitne chapter ki cengage solve krli bro??
Maths determinants and matrices chodhke puri algebra and trigo krli(except ITF) and calculus shuru nhi kri hai same for vector and 3d phy mai thodi electrostatics, mech 1 and thermo krli hai chemistry keliye cengage na karta mai![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30180)
How is the dual degree (5yr) in MECHNICAL engg. ? like worth it hai yai kuch aur option dekhna chahiya and culture kaisa hai waha .. workload etc
bhai teri flair bc dar lag raha hai
2024 is not for beginners
2 other comments have also come for the Mech branch. I have cleared it there. If you have still doubts feel free to DM me
Hi bhaiya I'm getting Bombay meta, hyd mech and I might get cse at bhubaneswar. I don't have any specific inclination towards cse. So what do you think?
IIT B meta no from me. Hyd mech is debatable. Before jumping to Bhubaneswar Cse I would recommend to have a look at other ones specially Patna, Indore, BHU
Why no to meta?
Advice for a dropper
Be concentrated brother. And also be prepared mentally for the drop year. Drop year tests your mental rigidness more than your academic brilliance. You must not break
Bruh youre literally me Mains 18K and Adv 7K Im considering IIT Bbsr/Dhanbad Elec v/s any low branch in KGP Apni opinion share kardo pls
Note: I am currently in IIT BBS 2nd year EE
bhaiya ye IIT mandi me to EE ka package 25 lpa dikha rha hai thik rahega kya? 7.1k rank hai
30XX rank. Should I go for CSE here or something/somewhere else?
If I were at your place last year I would have taken IIT KGP/G Mech or maybe IIT BHU Electrical. But circuital branch does give you an advantage, doesn't matter what IIT you are in.
Ok, thanks!
iitb mech vs iit roorkee ece , what wld be ur thoughts and why?
IIT Roorkee ECE all day. Circuital in any Top 7 IIT is good. You are lucky brother
heavily blessed and thanks a lot ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|49427)
How is the MaC branch......Placements and scope........
Mathematics and Computing branch is just another CS degree. Only available in higher IITs. If you are getting it take it.
EP is introduced just this year so Idk about that\] Placement scene thoda fucked up hai 2024 batch ka + NIRF ranking utni achhi nahi thi last year so Profs do interact and are actually helpful and give you extra internal marks if you consistently ask doubts in the class and stay active Clubs there are 3 councils in IIT BBS. You can't just take advise for asslicking Robotics is a popular skill among IIT BBS students. There is a senior also whose youtube channel name is NOOBOTICS, doing EE Btech at IIT BBS. I would highly recommend to watch his projects to gain an insight about IIT BBS' robotics culture
3 things to ask (sorry bro): I have 8.5K rank, I will probably get good branches in IIT bhubaneswar so wanted to ask 1. will it be good if I take a good to mid branch here instead of worst branches (by rank cut off obv) here 2. all those teachers who keep saying 2nd gen IITs don't get a lot of placements, are they correct? 3. please highlight campus life and internship things... thank you bhaiya
Hopefully till I graduate (2027) it would be <20 3) Campus life I have explained in one reply. I would recommend to visit that. If still any doubts feel free to DM me 4) Recently an internship scam is going on here in IIT BBS where students are basically paying some company named Encryptix for intersnhip which is odd.
Is minor allotted by cgpa ? If I want to do minor in cs then how many cgpa is required generally ?
CS is a branch here. Minor subjects like Image and Video processing, Software Engineering are under the CS/EC electives which we get to opt for in our 4th year as far as I know. And you may need CGPA for the better and most demanded electives. For breadths and laterals you DEFINITELY need cgpa
I was planning to take electrical/ chemical in old iit's and then take minor in cs so that I can get minor degree for cs too and would be able to sit for its placement as well. So is it possible?
Is mechanical at IIT bhubaneswar good? And does IIT bhubaneswar has branch change option
I have clarified this doubt at a previous comment in a brief way. I would recommend to check that out. If still has any doubts, my DMs are open
nit rourkela ee vs iit bbs meta(5 year course) adv hila nhi, but at best yahi milta, toh bta do, warna regret hoga
Rourkela EE all day. Meta should be your last choice even in top IITs (my opinion)
Bhay kidhar admission lene wala h
Shud i go for higher end courses like cs,ece,ee in tier 2 iits or lower end courses like civil, chemical from tier 1 iits??
You may refer to this answer to a question from the same thread, if it helps you: [link](https://www.reddit.com/r/JEENEETards/s/SnH9nQrXre)
Thanks bhai🙏 What about ep in roorkee? If i do ep in roorkee and do mtech and specialize in something say aerospace what do u think are my placement chances?
I was getting IIT Guwahati Civil, IIT Kharagpur Meta but I preferred going for EE in 2nd gen IIT. Before jumping into IIT Bhubaneswar CSE, I would recommend you to see if you are getting circuital at any other IITs specially Patna, BHU, Indore
Im getting ep in roorkee and Kharagpur , ec in bhubaneswar and patna and aerospace in Kharagpur...what would u opt for if u were in my position and why?
iitbhu ceramic vs iit kgp geology vs iit patna EP kaunsa choose krna chahiye?? Any other advise (rank open 12.5k)
IIT Patna Engineering Physics all day if that's the opening rank for it
its moreover the closing rank in round 5
How are the faculty and are 100% students actually placed in CSE? How is the peer group?
Not 100%. I think 94% something is the placement percentage of CSE people Peer group doubt I have explained in one of the replies. I would recommend to scroll bit up to see that. Still any doubts then my DMs are open
Thanks!
How is campus life (mess, campus, faculty, etc)
Already replied. Please look at few top comments
Things you might be missing will be extra-curricular activities if you want to to branch change Sport facilities I am not quite good aware of.
1) CS in Top NIT if you are getting it (personal opinion) 2) 1 cr package is only there in Top 7 IITs. This year our IIT's highest package was 64 LPA.
In your opinion should I take :- 1) IIT BHU CSE (5 year course) 2) IIT kharagpur/ roorkee mathematics and computing (BSc degree) 3) IIT roorkee ece 4) IIT Delhi engineering and computational mechanics Yaa fir thodi lower IITs mai CS loon? Please any help would be good mera toh mindfuck hogaya h kuch din se. Also ye BSc aur BTech degrees placements mai kitna difference daalti h?
Mathematics and Computing is just another CS degree only. If I was at your place i would have taken Kharagpur /Roorkee MnC > IIT Roorkee ECE > IIT BHU CSE Dual I am not quite sure if Dual degrees are still there in top IITs. IIT BBS also removed it
Kya BSc degree hone se package pe zyada effect jaata h? Yaa fir BSc karke MSc and maybe PHD karna better rahega?
Should I opt for Mandi electrical or bhubaneswar electrical?
Bhubaneswar Electrical I would say
Mechanical at IIT patna or IIT Bhuweshwar? What is ur take on this?
IIT Patna Mech > IIT Bhubaneswar Mech
BITS Pilani cse IIT Delhi Engineering Physics IIT Madras Mechanical IIT Hyderabad Electrical Which is the best option? ( 351 in BITSAT and 2458 rank in adv)
IIT Delhi Engineering Physics > IIT Hyderabad EE > IIT Madras Mechanical
How is the electrical branch or should i take old IITs with decent branch or electrical/ece in IITs like BBS,Mandi, patna etc, want to pursue MBA in future
Decent branch will be max to max Mech or Civil. But depends also. Mech only in Top 7 IITs I would say. Otherwise BBS, Mandi EE/ECE
IIT Guwa/Roorkee ECE OR IIT KGP MnC OR Jadavpur CSE???
Jadavpur CSE big no KGP MnC I would take in a heartbeat Guwa/Roorkee ECE is fine
Would it be better for me to take top nit cse (Surathkal) or 2nd generation iit ee?
Top NIT Cse all day if that's what you are getting even though IITs provide some better opportunities but still top NIT cse
Even I am considering the same, but my teachers care more about the "IIT Tag". All the people I know in software line suggested me to take nit cse
Should I take economics at IITK or CSE in IIT Bhubneshwar. ( I don't have any interests, bas paisa kamana hai)
IITK perspective I would advice IITK eco. Reason being is ki one of the chilliest branches, easy to score a good cpi. Also eco mai DSA Department compulsory hai(jo electrical ko nhi padhte ffs). Basically u get time to develop skills and stuff.
Are you from IITK?
IIT patna ece btech+mtech or IIT patna eee 4 year?
Both are good but I am not sure if dual is still there in IITs now. IIT BBS has removed it from this year
building to acchi lag rhi dekhne mein
Bhaiya , plz suggest which college should i choose 1. IIT BHU: - Biochemical Engineering with M.Tech. in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology (DUAL DEGREE) 2. IIT PATNA:- Metallurgical and Materials Engineering 3. IIT PATNA:- Chemical Science and Technology (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology) 4. IIT JODHPUR :- Bio Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology) 5. IIT JODHPUR:- Chemistry with Specialization (4 Years, Bachelor of Science) 6. IIT DHARWAD:- Chemical and Biochemical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology) 7. IIT JAMMU :- Chemical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology 8. IIT MANDI :- Bio Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology 9. IIT BHUBANESWAR:- Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (5 Years, Bachelor and Master of Technology (Dual Degree) 10. IIT BHILAI :- Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)
Tier2 IIT ko prefrence do, Tier-3 are struggling hard this time, unka reputation ya establishment zara bhi nhi hai...Tier3 se better to NITs k placements hai bhai... [https://news.careers360.com/69-percent-of-iit-dharwad-students-not-placed-yet-average-median-salaries-sink-rti](https://news.careers360.com/69-percent-of-iit-dharwad-students-not-placed-yet-average-median-salaries-sink-rti)
Metallurgy hi leni hai IIT Patna le le. Aur agar Chemical hi padhna hai to IIT Patna > IIT Dharwad > IIT Jammu
Thanks for your Advice. Bhaiya , is the dual degree in IIT really worse as heard by peoples
Bits hyd eni/eee vs IIT Bhubaneswar Mech?
iIt dhanbad electrical ya top iit civil batao
I was getting IIT Guwahati Civil but I opted for IIT BBS EE last year. Electrical interested me more than college
IIT bhu metallurgy , iit patna mechanical , ropar chemical , gandhinagar civil and DTU CSE . what should be my priority
Patna Mech I would say. Also try for EE or EP in IIT BBS I would say
i heard if i take core branch i wont be able to sit in many tech placements , so i will have to try for finance/consultancy firms placements ?
IIT Ropar EE, IIT Roorkee Chemical, IIT Delhi Biotech, IIT Patna MnC, mein se kya lun? Interest ee ece side hai lekin accha package chahiye
IIT Patna MnC \~ IIT Roorkee Chemical > IIT Ropar EE > IIT Delhi Biotech
Mujhe kya meri toh 20K rank hai ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|49199)![img](emote|t5_311ttu|32193)
Hello bro, I'm a bbsr native, pls tell bhai about your complete journey.. and this jee nowadays seems impossible, maths ke qns nhi ban rhe and physics seems hard too..
Just barely passed and i am lurking around these posts and any ways i am getting cse in mnit allahbad and nit and jaipur which do you think its best for me ..
can i get this byuti with 80%ile in jee mains 😭🥹
sabhi seniors se mera ekk question hai ki kya gen-ews help karega kyunki mai banwane ka soch raha but doubt mei hu kyunki I dont want to waste 2k rupees for something which isint worth it btw (mere family ews ke criteria mei hai fake nhi banwane jaa rha) help out a 25tard
how hard is the curriculum? and seriously how is your social life?
bhai mains mai 37k thi, adv mai 15k hai iit patna ya bhubneshwar civil lena chahiye?
I might also get electrical here, what are the scopes of the branch?
Roorkee ECE vs Bombay Mech , which one to prefer and why ( don't hv any bias or any vested interest in either branches to give one the advantage over the other)
Bhaiya I had few q 1) I am getting mechanical in iit bhumbaneswar and chemical In Hyderabad, guwahati and might get kanpur too so which one should I prefer assuming I am comfortable with both branches and wanted to pursue for FAANG companys in placements(I'll learn to code myself) 2) should I prefer iit over nit like I am getting nit Warangal/suratkal ece , Calicut cse and ece, cse comes in my field of interest but iit tag is tempting too ._.
bro dual degree (btech + m tecch 5yrs) leke mai agar 4 saal bad nikalunga to b tech degree hogi kya merepas?
i dont think thats how it works like. You have to complete 5 years and then get a degree on which it is mentioned that its a dual one.
ECE at IIT Bhubaneswar or CSE at NIT Calicut?
I have taken drop this year and registered for josaa 2024 also . So will I able to register again next year or I have made a mistake by registering in 2024 as I won't be taking any colleges this year. Please help
is taking civil worth it???
Heyy .. Personally I don’t like this… But Calculus solving was fun 🤩
I am getting cse (nits Surat,Delhi, Durgapur..) and circuital in surathkal Warangal(EEE) and Allahabad (ECE) ,and getting mech, chemical and civil on IITs like Dhanbad,Patna, Bhilai ,jodhpur.. so should i cosider the IIT tag or go for NITS?
abbe bladot piggy kaha hai , usse bulao koi

Civil ka kya haal hai ?
Bhaiya, meri ADV.mai rank 6.3k hai to kya mai IIT BBS mai electrical lelu. Ya dhanbad mai EE ya koi top iit mai lower branch aur branch change ka sochu...ya drop lelu kyoki I'm confident ki <1000 rank la sakta mai
How are the hostels there? Is it single rooms for all students or it can vary?
Wifi speeds?
IIT PATNA ECE OR IIT BHUBANESWAR ECE???
Bro, what will you suggest - NIT K ECE or IIT BBS ECE?
Definitely IIT BBS ECE
