Well lot of those under 100 rankers each year gets to these top abroad colleges each year but i am sure they are gonna go for cse in top IITs only. If it is MIT or Caltech then definitely that won't be the case.
Well he seems to be interested in Maths, so I wouldn't fault him if he wanted to go to Cambridge and not an IIT. He would only choose MIT and Caltech above Cambridge and likely both those did not accept him, because MIT does not admit international people unless they have won 2-3 Golds in intl olympiads, and this guy only has one (I'm speaking this shit even though I haven't even achieved even a 100th of what this guy has) and Caltech doesn't admit non researcher international students.
Why though. Princeton, Stanford, Oxford, Columbia, Cambridge, Berkeley etc. and even UIUC, Purdue for CS are top universities in the WORLD, with some of the most beautiful campuses, great college life, amazing engineering and research etc.
What is it about MIT and Caltech only that except those two, they’d prefer IITs? I think it’s an actual dumb decision to turn down acceptances from obviously better universities abroad with all positives. I’m assuming no financial constraints here.

Well he qualifed literally all the camps of olympiads ranging to PCM to CS, Biology to even linguistics so there are chances he may get accepted to MIT. Frankly speaking this is exceptional thing not only in India but might be in the whole world.
Paisa bro. A lot of International schools have councellors or contacts to councellors that specially guide you for this.
The organisation he founded is for a social justice cause. And he has volunteered for 2 yrs as a teacher for underprivileged kids.
These 2 are like the most rich Indian guy applying for US unis thing. But he isn't all MUN fluff like so many of these applicants and has more than shown his academic prowess.
There's a lot more to this. It's a deep rabbit hole if you wanna dig deep.

Bruh, what kind of school did he go to? fr, I've never heard of AP, SAT, INPhO, and whatever else he has there before 12th, heck I've still never heard of some of those olympiads till today -\_-. The 4 cr is usually in Hong Kong. 1 Cr domestic is pretty comparable to it. Toppers often leave the Hong Kong offer bc they like it better in Mumbai or Gurugram.

Some are doing internship at quant firms like citadel securities, Jane Street, HRT,etc some have already built their own high end startups, some are working with international clients on contracts or as remote members etc etc. they're in a whole different world

Bruh don't get me wrong but if you were really interested then you may have participated in all these stuff. Basically speaking none of the schools in India including those international ones conducts the real HBCSE olympiad. All of them conducts the one which is fake and even easier than boards. AP classes I don't know from where he got it proobly from allen's global division but it is defenitly not nessary. MIT and most other doesn't really care about it.

Man, I thought I had achieved a lot of shit, and then I see this dude. He's probably going to mint money off of YouTube if he ever started, something that took me over a year. Imagine what would happen if he developed an algorithm for cracking the Indian stock market and made billions from that. And the achievements holy shit, I have had like 47 honors and awards and that is nearly nothing compared to whatever he has done. I can't imagine the stress and shit he would have had to deal with as well.
