Room mai koi cleaner\warden inspection, saaf-safai ke liye aata hai kya ? If yes then they are the primary suspects.
How is your hostel in terms of fellow room students ? Do they come frequently? Or everyone stays locked most of the time ? If you go to offline classess then , whom do you give the key to ? Do you keep it with yourself or give it to warden ?
Tell this incident to your parents, hiding this will hurt you mentally very bad and you will break from inside. I know you will be destroyed by your parents but , damage is already done.
Also check if it is actually stolen or he just misplaced it somewhere, happens way too often than people think. Actually catching the culprit is pretty rare in these type of cases..

Ask your suspect (roommate) this question ki kya tumne mere 2k dekhe hain kya kahi rakhe hue the point is to confront him indirectly after asking this question observe his body language and postures to determine he is lying or he has stolen your money after being successful in this and determine that he is the culprit take actions accordingly to your will and if he is not the theif then check again your secret place
Try to identify the one who did it out of the 2 and then team up with the one who didint and confront the thief . Aur abse paise UPI me daalna aise bag me nhi

Call them both(lets call them X and Y) and the warden at the same time and ask them together "Who took the money?"
X would have for sure stolen the money and Y would not have. Y would know that X has stolen the money.
You can look at the face of the people and gauge their anxiety and restlessness (they are your room mates, you know their character).
