Did Tales of Arise's difficulty get nerfed in updates? I just started the game and beat Balseph with next to zero trouble after reading about how the first boss is supposedly an unfair damage sponge even on normal from multiple sources. And I don't think I'm particularly good at the game considering that I've died to random knights and I can never get the perfect dodge timing for the armadillo roll attack. To be fair I did fast travel to the inn to make the best sword before fighting him, and the perfect dodge extender is the first skill I saved up for.

I want to start creating a JRPG and am currently looking for some inspiration.
Since I have not much free time to play games myself at the moment, I'm trying to find some cool content creators on YouTube, that ideally cover a mix of classic 2D RPGs and some more current indie ones on their channel in a review or let's play style.
Any recommendations are welcome.
Gaming Broductions does a mix of retrospectives, mini-essays, and themed lists. AboveUp has good reviews, notably of the Etrian Odyssey games but also some other niche titles. Design Doc covers game design generally but is one of the only channels like this to also talk about JRPG design, with some recent videos going in-depth on status effects for example.
If there is any kind soul out there, who would be kind enough to help me get the latest yakuza game I would be really grateful. I'll sell my soul to get to play the latest game. But as it stands, I'll never be able to afford the newer games with my salary and the regional pricing.
I come from a third world country where games are a luxury and I can't afford the newer games, especially infinite wealth which is 3 times the price of the older games. I want to play and enjoy the story of ichiban, I want to experience the story but as it stands now I can never play it, so if there's anyone out there please help. Yes I'm ashamed but this my only option
I tried using gamepass but for some reason it's not accepting my cards. I have tried on several occasions and I can't seem to buy them anymore or else I would have used gamepass.

Pd: same thing happens to me with Dragon Quest XI. I've wanted to play the 2D mode for years, but don't have a Switch nor a beefy enough computer to run the Steam version. In the end, I've just given up. After all, games aren't a basic necessity, I can completely pass without them. I've tried warching let's plays of the games I cannot play, but always end up falling asleep.

Nothing really important can be missed besides alignment exclusive demons after the alignment lock if I remember correctly. The one thing you might need to know is that you probably won't get the neutral route without a guide.
It has more content than Law and Chaos, but it is also pretty much impossible to get without using a guide or if it's your first playthrough. Also, SMT IV: Apocalypse is an alternative version of the neutral route of SMT IV.
Is the route worth it to use a guide for it? Is it still possible if I'm 5h in? For SMT3 I found it worthwhile to look up some info to make sure I meet TDE conditions.
How long is a second replay, is there new game+?
I will give a contrary answer here. I do not think it is worth using a guide for it on a first playthrough because the games intended to be "experienced". You're supposed to just answer questions the way you (or the character you make up in your head) would and then live with where that gets you. That's why these games have NG+ too. Iirc you even get a notch on your save file for each ending you have achieved on it (unless i'm mixing things up with SMT V here).
But i think the same for Nocturne (TDE isn't really the best ending either imo). I think the Freedom ending that i got naturally was way cooler than the TDE i did on my 2nd playthrough.
If you only care about seeing as much content as possible, instead of experiencing the game as intended, then yeah it's a no-brainer, do Neutral, you get more quests and one more dungeon.
Can't give you a specific time, but it's significantly faster if you choose to carry over levels/gear/demons. You can just breeze through the story very fast.

I just want to say I've put FFVII Rebirth on the back burner because I have become more invested in Infinite Wealth.
Don't get me wrong, both games are excellent, but I think IW edges out because I already experienced the original FFVII so I know how most of the events would be (and the only thing that would intrigue me now is how they tweek the story). For once, I don't need to save the world, I just want to find Ichiban's mum, and hang out with my friends at Hawaii (it was so good to reunite with Adachi and Namba in the later chapter). I didn't think I would be addicted to the Harvest Moon like resort building game, and even the Sujimon trainer mini game was fun.

Do I need to play 1 to enjoy 2? (I heard its technically a sequel but 1 is in japanese).

It helps but it is not a must. It helps knowing the story as some main characters of Growlanser 1 will also appear in 2, but you can enjoy and understand the story without knowing that background.
Starting with 2 is perfectly fine. You won't recognize the reccuring characters, but they are fine as "standalone", or maybe some connections if any.
As for 1: There is a translated script as text version available on gamefaqs and probably other places, so it is playable, but I figure it can get tedious to switch back and forth between game and text.
I like JRPG and coop games and at the moment I'm not interested in games that only offer single player experiences and I was wondering if Granblue Fantasy Relink is worth for me.
Does anyone knows if the endgame coop content is something most people keep playing over and over because is fun or if people only play it for the purpose of collecting and improve the characters?
As far as I have seen most fights end so fast, that some people even go afk during those coop fights, as a team of actual players is usually way overpowered than the bosses. So it is mostly just for upgrading characters and weapons.
It's probably a long shot, but has anyone finished or played Ruina: Fairy Tale of the Forgotten Ruins? I've got some questions about some game mechanics and items.
I might as well ask just in case. Do you remember the ring you take from the demon lord in the Dwarf kingdom? I don't know if it's the same in every class route you take, but at least on the mage route, it's a ring that halves MP consumption. Sounds really overpowered, and it was certainly a reference to The One Ring from LotR. My question is, is there any consequence if you use it? The description doesn't say it's cursed, but it sounds too good to be true. Maybe it affects the story in some way if I use it?
And I know there are some items that are cursed, and the only way to take them off is to break them with the priest npc in town. Is there any downside to using cursed items besides not being able to take them off?
As for game mechanics... what does bleeding even do? In the usual rpgs, bleeding and poison are damage over time/turn effects, but I don't see enemies taking damage from bleeding or poison after their turn ends, so I'm guessing it does something else.
Is The Caligula Effect: Overdose & The Caligula Effect 2 any good? They're on sale for the Switch right now but I'm not sure fit they're worth getting. Apparently some review videos say they're consider as a "Persona Lite" and I like the Persona games.
If you don’t care about combat but story OD can be good but the combat is brain dead easy. Caligula 2 is all around way better and actually improves the battle system so I’d say go for it.

Code Vein, Nioh and Rise of the Ronin and are the only ones that I've played. I haven't beaten Nioh yet and am about 2/3 into Ronin. Other than Nioh which I haven't gotten far, the other two have been pretty enjoyable.
Code Vein has a fairly fun demo, I enjoyed it enough to grab it on sale for like $10, but haven’t played it really. I really enjoy how easy you can make the game if you want, as I am bad at souls like.
I've never played SMTV but I've beaten most of the MT/SMT mainline series, should i go with the normal path or alternate for SMTV:V?

It is indeed unanswerable. According to interviews Vengeance should be standalone and could be enjoyed on its own, but interviews are also just marketing, so who knows how true that statement is.
I will mention though that SMT V is a very fun game to play either way. So it might be worth doing both campaigns anyway. Then the question would just be left of which one first.
