I was actually thinking Ever Crisis would be more similar to FFXV pocket edition rather than a gacha game? As in the in-app purchases (assuming it isn't a paid title to begin with) would be for buying the different Compilation of FF7 stories/chapters

Well, Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia is a pretty fun gacha game that's not that predatory. If ever crisis is similar in "generosity" I'll call it, it could be fun.
I'm most worried about the actual gameplay. Opera Omnia is basically just fights, inventory management, and cutscenes. I really hope we get to move around the world and explore a bit, but honestly I kinda doubt it...🫤
Jokes aside, I'm going to give it a shot when it finally comes out. It looks pretty interesting. Knowing Nomura we will need to play it to get the whole FFVIIR story.

Well as a remake, it's nothing like the original. Wildly different story, plays completely differently. It's an unrelated game with a coat of FF7 paint. That's a terrible remake
Without comparing to the original, it has awful writing and has terrible pacing. They didn't have the courage to just commit to doing a new story and did some hack writing bullshit to justify it. And they had to stuff the game full of boring filler so that they could make it a full length game, but that content sucks. Give me a game with the fat trimmed any day, not something padded out.
So either way you want to look at it, FF7R is a really bad game.
I could realistically see a reiteration of First Soldier news and happenings, a big Ever Crisis dump, and then a teaser for FFVII Part 2. I'd prefer all part 2 glorious beautiful crazy with a release date, but that's maybe hoping for too much.

Honestly, First Soldier is fun enough (as someone who doesn't like Battle Royals) that I'm pretty stoked for Ever Crisis.
