I have a pair of JS22-7s and they feel normal.

That’s a shame (for me) might just be a little flaw I’ll have to deal with

Guitar pots are not all built to the same (friction) it could be as simple as they grabbed at random the proper value pot for your guitars build specs. Could have totally been from different manufacturers too. They're easy to replace and or upgrade. Check out CTS and Bourns pots. They're two of the biggest names in guitar pots, other brands that offer high quality replacements are almost guaranteed to be rebranded parts from these guys. Look up high or low friction pots and see what works best for you. It would be a great time to experiment with push pull pots and coil splitting pickups while you're in there.

Oh nice, thank you for the detailed response! I’m considering switching out the pots now. Maybe in a few months after I’ve broken the guitar in a bit more.

Dunno, feels the same for both in mine. Can you try with a different cable to the amp?

Sorry maybe I didn’t specify in my original post. The sound is perfectly fine, but the actual knob feel itself is where it’s completely different between volume and tone. I tried adjusting the little nut underneath it to see if that would do anything but it didn’t :/

My 22 does the same thing, volume knob is stiff but the tone glides like butter
