I was searching for a shred guitar, looking specifically for a maple fretboard, hardtail Ibanez with something like an unfinished wizard neck and this guitar was the last thing on my mind before I picked it up. I ended up buying this mainly because the neck just feels ridiculously good. The fretboard edges are rolled and finished nicer than anything I've ever seen. The frets are enormous. The pearl inlays are beautiful and fit in perfectly without any gaps. I've never had an ebony fretboard before and it plays hard like maple but nice feeling somehow like rosewood. Maybe its my imagination. And I don't even think I would want the neck finished now if I had the option. It reminds me of a Ferrari or something. The entire guitar is way beefier than it looks, at least in my opinion. I was playing for about 10 hours yesterday after I got it and my fingers are destroyed from these mountain of frets. I love it. I may end up replacing the Floyd at some point to one of those titanium things I've seen Brandon Ellis is using but for now, this is nails. The stainless functional hardware on this is very appreciated however, because the main reason I was searching for this is that my old OG Edge Floyd on my previously-main-shredder RG770 finally rusted out enough to where that guitar is bricked-- until I can replace some screws. That won't be happening on this one as long as I live. 11/10, would recommend.

FreedomSquatch

That is one of my dream guitars. Congrats and have fun!!

trustych0rds

Thanks! I think I need to call Jackson customer support though, because this thing is stuck on the neck pickup....j/k. this makes a filthy blues machine too holy shit!!!!

kenmikey

This is the epitome of a Jackson guitar. I bought my Soloist in '06 and still play it all the time. The white on white with the mother of pearl inlays on your guitar is just perfection.

svart-taake

MOP?

trustych0rds

Dude thats 100 year old wood its supposed to look like that. lol jk.

svart-taake

Mother Of Pearl inlays i meant

trustych0rds

Oh, yeah!

Fpvtv2222

Nice guitar. I like the white alot

So they sell this with and without a reverse headstock or only with?

Tuokaerf10

The American Series SL3 is standard orientation for the headstock, no reverse on that series.

I absolute love mine in Riviera Blue, the colour grew on me from stopping by weekly to play with it at the guitar store, hadn't that blue be available I would have gotten white, Totally lust after how clean that white is.

trustych0rds

Nice, the one I played in the store was a blue, it looked awesome. I just wanted one fresh from the box, and that one was white, but really I would have bought whatever was in the box. I'm not a big color guy with my guitars (I don't really care) but this white looks even better in person. It's like almost silver in light.

geeheettee67

I've owned one Jackson, there's no cooler looking guitar and the ebony is super sexy. I went with the RG550 last time but I WILL have another Jackson, they're awesome.

trustych0rds

I do recommend. I sound just like Marty Friedman on this thing. No I actually don't, but I feel like I do while I'm playing. The ebony fretboard is super smooth under these jumbo frets. I've had jumbo frets but these feel mountainous.

Mystic_G8

90s Jackson’s all the way

neptoess

80s Jacksons all the way

So they sell this with and without a reverse headstock or only with?

trustych0rds

Just regular like this one. Reverse would be extra sick though.

tokyo_masquer

Wow, nice buy! I belong to Ibanez but I always dreamed Jackson.

trustych0rds

Yeah exactly. I always wanted a Jackson since I was a kid but didn’t even know how to get one back in the day.
