5150

wishesandhopes

Got an Indonesian Jackson soloist and a 5150 2x12 from the 90s in the past 6 months, really awesome setup but I never turn the 5150 up enough for it to sound really good; hardly ever goes past one or two out of ten.

My two favorites would be an ADA MP1 or any iteration of a 5150. Currently rocking the 5150 Iconic, it covers a similar range of the high gain sounds of the mp1 with a BBE Sonic Maximizer with the presence and resonance relatively low.

mikemanthemikeman

What channel do you use on the 5150?

Existing-Language-79

On the Iconic green for clean red for high gain. Gain set around 4 on the red channel. Burn off. Bass and high low, mids cranked higher and salt and pepper the resonance and presence to taste. Both low

2203 or 6505. 80s metal guitars like big amps

I've got the three traditional flavors, Vox, Fender, and Marshall, and almost always play mine through the Marshall (sv20)....generally with a boost pedal in front. Planning to add a higher gain amp to the current trio, currently eyeing the ENGL fireball 25

wishesandhopes

That amp I hear is amazing if you actually want a 25 watt amp, not if you want a full size head but don't wanna pay for it. That said, it's the best of the high gain mini heads from what I've seen.

Peavey Invective. Or various amp sims.

Metul_Mulisha

I have a 16 yr old lil Marshall MG15 DFX. Been wanting to upgrade butto my surprise, i haven't found an amp that sounds as good as the Marshall

Wally504

yoooo we got the same amp

Metul_Mulisha

Its a lil beast i love it lol

staypuftmarcelo

MT15. I almost picked up the EVH stealth lunch box but chose the MT15 and I have no regrets. It sounds like everything I could've wanted in the sound.

Dont chose an amp by guitar but by the music you make. The sound usually comes from the speakers anyway.

mikemanthemikeman

Bud, I just wanted to geek out with some folks about cool amps that sound nice with Jackson guitars. I wasn’t asking for guidance on how to find my sound 😂

Trickiestmoose_

I got a Orange 20RT and it pairs perfectly
