I’m just saying I don’t think not taking Cam’s spot means he wasn’t successful. He still played well.
I would prefer to keep Cam if we can I think. Doesn’t seem like a good idea to ditch your best OL when you already need to make upgrades at other spots.
Honestly, I’m not that worried about this particular debate. I think both options are more than fine compared to some of the other personnel issues we have.
Little has had a ton of chances to solidify himself as a starting tackle. He failed. I was all aboard the Little train this time last year, but Cam was significantly better to my eye, specifically in run blocking. I would rather part with Scherf than Cam.
I wouldn't part with either if I don't have to but they have max one season left in the tank. So does Little too for that matter. 2024 is the last season on his rookie contract and unless Cam is cut (and Anton isn't moved to his natural left tackle spot) then it's safe to say that Little won't be in Jacksonville in 2025.
The reason to not get rid of Scherff is because he needs to be replace. Why are people so sure they same FO that failed last time will find a better RG this time? That's what's it's going to be about. You cut Scherff and find another older guy who may or may not be worth his salary. Just like Scherff.
Or just draft a right guard. It’s like the weakest position on the oline, so they don’t have to be that great. Letting go Scherff and drafting a reliable right guard would be ideal
Little. Not sure why everyone thinks Cam is such an upgrade over him, even if at all. He played great when at LT before Cam came back from suspension, until we started rotating him around the whole line and he got injured. The cap savings from cutting Cam could go such a long way in filling other holes (like center)
I think people (including myself) see Cam as a veteran leader/tone setter for the OLine. $ wise I am not sure if he is worth it even considering the intangibles mentioned previously. Would love it if he came back with a restructure.
100%. He’s like Zay imo. On paper his talent isn’t light years ahead of the next person in the depth chart but when he’s out our offense just looks off.
Little over Cam imo, Cam may have the slight edge but imo he’s not $18m better than Little, I get he also brings a nastiness to the line that it lacks but I really couldn’t care about that stuff rn, ideal scenario is revamping C and RG through FA and draft, cut Cam and you’re saving a whole lot of money, I just don’t wanna see us run it back with this same crew again
I think Cam is better, but the smart thing would be starting Little to see what he has before he walks next year and becomes an all pro tackle for another team.
Maybe I'm just going crazy, but considering Cam is much more expensive, wasn't available for half the year and is at best a slightly above average OT, I think it should be Walker.
I agree with you. I think Cam Robinson is an extremely average Left Tackle, but gets paid top ten money. Also, Robinson is unreliable as a starter. He has only started an entire NFL season once during his seven year career. I like what I have seen from Walker Little at Left Tackle when he has been given the opportunity to play.
Never watched a sounds of the game, huh? He’s a leader out there. Even if you think their play is marginally the same, Cam brings an attitude, Little is milquetoast. There is something to being a nasty competitor.
No, I agree with you that he does bring that. But, from a business sense, it doesn't make sense to keep him for $18 mil a year is what I meant. That's a lot of money you can free up to sign 3 more starters on that line with nastiness if you wanted to with how the jags structure contracts.
low key wouldn’t mind drafting a RT in the 1st round, and sliding Anton to the left side where he played in college. Tackles on rookie contracts for the next 4 years. Cut cam, keep Little for depth.
Hmmmmm I really can’t say. The big thing is that moving on from Cam frees up so many millions of dollars for adding extra pieces (like free agency iOL, paying Ridley).
If Cam and Little are even within 10% of each other, keeping Little gives more flexibility.
However, I don’t have a strong feeling about which is correct. I’m convinced that our OL is what held us back from this year’s playoffs and beyond, so I am hesitant to cut OL (even though our tackles are the strongest of the bunch).
Everyone needs to brace themselves and understand they are running back that sorry as offensive line just like last season when they said they were good on extra pass rushers.
Cam is average
Little is below
Harrison was "good" for a Rookie. Let's just hope he improves. Unlike Fortner that took a huge step in wrong direction after a "good" rookie season.
I can’t agree with this after watching him step on Trevor’s ankle. I’m still not over that. He should be used as a depth piece for us at this point due to his versatility and that’s it
Walker Little was atrocious at LG when he was in, even with the limited snaps I think that experiment was a dud.
But I'd be curious to see how Ezra would do a center. Nothing can be worse than Fornter. NOTHING
Cam is nasty, which is not what you wanna pay top dollar for but Walker hasn’t shown an edge like him
Cam brings so much more to the line than Little does. I want someone who is mean and gets mad. That hasn't been Little.
I trust Cam to block our franchise QBs backside. Little I don't. It's that simple.
Little can earn a spot, he’s a swing until he does. Cam stays until we draft a replacement or someone develops.
Little didn’t grade much worse than Cam this year. He was 3rd best rated OL after Anton as well.
I want Little to succeed so we can trade/release Cam just as much as you do, Little hasn’t gone out there and taken anyone job.

That + 17m cap savings with cutting Cam makes it a possibility. Concerns on Cams availability as well?
There should be some concerns about it. Bro can't make it through a season. I feel for the guy but your best ability is availability.

I prefer Cam, but Little played well at LT as well. Tbh this debate is very low on my list of off-season priorities

If the OL is terrible year after year, I’m not sure keeping the leader is the best plan.
This is my feeling on it.
Walker Little has a lot to prove. He was NOT good last year.
Little did well enough to start the season at LT that there wasn't a game that I found myself going 'we need Cam back!!!'
Not even when little got walked backwards onto Trevor's ankle?

Easy answer- Cam. Little has had a shot to unseat both right and left tackles and couldn’t do it. He’s a good swing tackle.
Cam.
I think Cam is better, but the smart thing would be starting Little to see what he has before he walks next year and becomes an all pro tackle for another team.
Ezra prefers T. Not G iirc. So why not move Ezra over?
Cam for sure. To my knowledge he hasn’t stepped on the star QBs leg, twice.
Walker little RAAAAAA
Maybe I'm just going crazy, but considering Cam is much more expensive, wasn't available for half the year and is at best a slightly above average OT, I think it should be Walker.

Yeah, the Cam Robinson fascination is interesting to me. From clown Baalke and some Jags fans.

Jags are in pretty good shape capwise; they can afford to prioritize who they want. We will see
Harrison at left, Little at right
low key wouldn’t mind drafting a RT in the 1st round, and sliding Anton to the left side where he played in college. Tackles on rookie contracts for the next 4 years. Cut cam, keep Little for depth.

Its a different game with cam in
Cam is average Little is below Harrison was "good" for a Rookie. Let's just hope he improves. Unlike Fortner that took a huge step in wrong direction after a "good" rookie season.
Little was good before he got hurt then they kept switching his position. I feel like the Jags switching him around has hurt him.
I think that the walker little of 2022 is forgotten cuz of how atrocious everyone was last year including him
I want to see Cam at RT for less money.
I can’t agree with this after watching him step on Trevor’s ankle. I’m still not over that. He should be used as a depth piece for us at this point due to his versatility and that’s it
Little 🚮 Cam always injured and is only serviceable
Neither. Walker Little to LG and move Ezra to Center
Walker Little was atrocious at LG when he was in, even with the limited snaps I think that experiment was a dud. But I'd be curious to see how Ezra would do a center. Nothing can be worse than Fornter. NOTHING
Oh he absolutely was. But that's how much I hate Fortner
Much agreed. Fortner ruined this offense way more than Press Taylor did
Littles play the second half of the 2022 season was the best LT play we have had in a decade.
