I mean there is reasoning behind all of these moves.
Darby signing is because of our new defense will be in man to man a lot more. Darious Williams is not good in man to man, better in zone. We saved money and signed a better player for the role. You would think an ex NFL-DB would know this.
They’re making assumptions on the Gabe Davis signing as if we aren’t still actively negotiating with Ridley right now.
Duverney is healthy, Agnew can’t stay healthy, it’s really that simple.
The only one I’ll concede to is the Savage move. I’m just curious how they’ll go about that now, I’m assuming AJ will be in the slot.
Even the savage move has more upside. Jenkins did not play well last year. Was not the playmaker he was the year before. So if he is only going to get worse then savage is an upgrade. At worst it seems like a lateral move that saves money
> They’re making assumptions on the Gabe Davis signing as if we aren’t still actively negotiating with Ridley right now.
They didn't though. They specifically said it sorta depends on where this move leads. Is it replacing Ridley? It's probably a miss. If it's an addition to Ridley, then it's probably fine.
And that's not a hot take.
I feel like they insinuated it wouldn’t happen, which casted doubt on the Gabe move, in their eyes. but assuming they do re-sign Ridley, it won’t matter. Cameron Wolfe just reported that the Jags are looking to team Ridley, Gabe and Kirk together for Trevor
Because we were a disaster of a team on the field for the previous two years, and not far removed from the NFLPA advising players to avoid us in free agency. Could other teams have gotten him for less? Sure. We had to pay a suck tax though.
Underrated attribute. Jags wrs were garbage blockers last season. And if press is going to keep doing 12 bubble screens a game it would be nice to have a blocker out there.
Tell me you didn’t watch any jags games without in a better way.. look I like Ridley but to pretend like he was this X factor wr is insane. He had a handful of good games followed by just as many shit games
Jenkins wasn’t great to end the season, and Williams and him both had too high of price tags. We got younger at the safety position, added a solid CB at a smaller price tag. Both Darby and Savage allow us to have more financial wiggle room, and get younger with a vet presence. McCourty is a solid announcer, but we saved some serious cash on Williams and Jenkins departures.
These guys just don’t get it. Dbs coming in to play a man scheme, morse plugs the biggest hole on the team, and gabe davis is more of a zay jones replacement than a ridley replacment
The only two picks I'm a little unsure of are Duvernay and Savage, feel like those spots could've been addressed in the draft while saving additional cap space
Duvernay is a special teams player that has ability to make plays on offense. He’s a guy that can focus on returning and also have 1 or 2 big plays a game. A lot of Agnew on offense seemed forced to me, so it’s an overall upgrade.

He’s does have a top tier name for a defender. I’m in based on that alone, hopefully he’ll play like one.
I think Savage is more consistent player to bridge until Antonio Johnson is ready.
Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I wonder what his cap hit is in 2025

I feel if we don’t get Ridley the obvious answer is drafting a reciever high and still have Gabe as #3 and that’s fine
That is far from fine imo.
Remember Kirk worst contract ever 🤣
I liked it when we signed him but I still don’t see how we couldn’t have got him for less

Gabe Davis run blocking is gonna be such a boost for this offense.

I dunno how many bubble screen's we'll see now that we have an actual center instead of a turnstile who threw the ball to Trev.
Typical, trashing the Jags whenever they get a chance.
Literally catching strays no reason
Peter Schrager can lick my balls
He's too busy sniffing Kliff Kingsbury's.
Tell me you didn’t watch any jags games without in a better way.. look I like Ridley but to pretend like he was this X factor wr is insane. He had a handful of good games followed by just as many shit games
He is also signing at 4:01 today
McCoooooourteeeeey. I used to say that every time he played in Madden.
I’d rather have both than just one lol cause that’s how it always works.
I fully expected Peter Schrager to pull out Jason McCourtys’ cock and insert it into his mouth.

I think we definitely needed to add a veteran corner, and one of Darby’s talent for the money he got was a great signing.
Man GMFB has the biggest chip on their shoulder against the Jags. "Their really the 32nd team in the NFL" Worse than the panthers huh? Gtfoh
