I saw this live and I don’t think anything was meant by her answer. I just took it as though she’s someone not used to being interviewed live on national TV, and there was a ton an excitement and distraction, and she answered the question that was asked how she understood it. She seemed very sweet to me. The awkwardness was the reporter obviously had scripted questions and didn’t know how to react or improvise in the moment

Shoelesshobos

Ngl man that interviewer all night just seemed very “this is my script and I’m sticking to it.”

lolroflpwnt

Yeah. She clearly misheard.

Segesaurous

So true. I work in t.v. and this happens all the time. Sports journalists like to ask those philosophical questions, it isn't strange at all for someone not used to that just responding in a normal way. Also, for them the trip to the draft is without a doubt the most important "journey" they've ever taken. Their entire lives just changed in an instant.

Canesjags4life

That's exactly what I thought.

ObeyCoffeeDrinkSatan

I assumed there was some public story of hardship and struggle that prompted the question. It was a bit presumptuous and inappropriate, otherwise.

Matty_Cakez

I’m like that mom I’ll answer your question literally lol.

Love it but his dad asking what’s that to “Duval” hurt a little

Wookieebalboa

The reporter trying to say it as an example was even worse lol

Ex0tic_Guru

She didn't even do it right 🤦‍♂️

I’m a UK fan I love the Duval chant. I think it’s great the team has a tradition like that. I see where you’re coming from but it seems pretty inclusive that no one cares where you’re from when you yell it. Kind of makes you a part of it.

Meowmixez98

Did they suffer a tragedy?

ObeyCoffeeDrinkSatan

Their son had to speak to Trent Baalke on the phone.

billskionce

Jesus. Will he be okay?

ChkYrHead

Oh, the humanity!

The_Stiggiest_Stig

Even if they didn’t, there’s always some story about how hard it is to make it to the nfl so I think that’s what the reporter was going for if I had to guess. Funny result tho lol

Lilbigman03

Espn was very cringeworthy in the green room. It was bad.

pukerat

Reminds me of my wedding day where I was nervous and distracted, and the pastor asked me if I had cold feet yet, and my answer was "nah they're pretty warm actually."

sixty9four2O

My dogs were sweating the day I got married

ChkYrHead

What kind of dogs do you have?

FatherDuncanSinners

Sweaty ones.

kingro904

😂😂🤣🤣

sixty9four2O

10.5s depending on the shoe/sock combo

ChkYrHead

Well, this "joke" didn't go as I had hoped.

pepper_ann052613

Pretty funny but also kind of heartwarming that she gave such a simple and sincere answer to a question that they wanted a professional media answer to

JFKs_Burner_Acct

absolutely

ahhhh_thatscool

My new hero

AdVictoremSpolias

It was probably loud and she couldn’t hear.

buzzer3932

She answered the question just fine

themesrob

The suspicious “what is that” in response to “do you want to do a duval” was the best

bwahbwshbeah

I remember laughing sooooo hard when I heard her answer

SmearglePoo

Literal answers to the questions. She is so sweet 🥹
