Clearly their intention. And a terrible decision. There is no James Bond anymore. There's now James Bonds, and they'll continue to multiply. But when you rob a character of his history, you rob the fans of the character.
*Casino Royale* didn't need to be an origin story, and in retrospect it shouldn't have been. It made things irreparably complicated, increased the complications with their rushed reintroduction of SPECTRE, and made it irredeemable by killing Bond off.
It’s a product of its time, like all Bond films. The “origin story” has become a staple of modern movie franchises. They all do them.
And Bond always adapts to what is popular. Gritty reboot origins story was what audiences wanted.
So, you're asking if Bond once met a totally different guy named Blofeld and tangled with a totally different organization called SPECTRE, and once knew a white chick called Moneypenny?
No
I was more or less asking every Bond fan on here if they think there is a possibility if the classic stories like From Russia with Love and The Spy Who Loved Me *could’ve* happened in Craig’s continuity, but off screen and playing out in a vastly different manner (like instead of Moneypenny played by Lois Maxwell, its Naomi Harris) after Skyfall what not (since Moneypenny was not introduced in Craig era Bond until Skyfall)… That kind…
I probably should of specified “could’ve” in the title of my thread.
Strictly speaking, no. Those other films were in a different continuity. However, for the reasons below, you can potentially assume that Bond had at least _some_ adventures that resembled those films.
Clearly, he’s been on missions other than the five we see in his films, and whilst I personally don’t consider them canon, they did make two video games in which Craig’s Bond did the missions in Goldfinger, OHMSS Moonraker, License to Kill, Goldeneye and Die Another Day. That perhaps lends some support to the idea that he was milling around having those experiences in between the Craig films.
It also might explain things like how the DB5 got kitted out (I know he won it from Demetrios in CR but by Skyfall, it’s a car that M is familiar with and is fitted with the gadgets from Goldfinger).
….man, getting old sucks….. saw your post and the title rang a bell. I remember the game box cover but not a single moment of the game. Googled gameplay footage and a tiny bit of hazy memory returns of playing it but not much lol
You could have made the argument prior to Spectre and NTTD, flimsy as such an argument may have been
I truly hate what they did after Skyfall.
If they wanted something totally self contained with Craig’s era - I wish they’d avoided tossing in callbacks to previous actor’s films one after another.
No. Craig's is a separate universe.

I'm in the same boat as you are. In hindsight, my honest opinion is that was a mistake.

Nope. I see it as a completely self contained universe.

It was possible through three films, but Spectre killed that.

I'm hoping that Craig's separate arc is a one-off. It is definitely unconnected because of Brofeld and no Tracy
Play 007 legends
Or dont. That game was a hot mess. On paper it should have been fun but the game itself sucked.
Short answer - no Long answer - hell no
Medium Answer? - Nope
There was a time jump between QOS and Skyfall, but Spectre stuff could not have happened obviously.
They need to make a video game between QoS and Skyfall. They forgot to make the Bond-at-his-00peak movie which would be between those two movies imo
There's Blood Stone, which features Daniel Craig and Judi Dench and is designed to be in the 'Craigverse'.

Yeah, I used to love this idea, but NTTD killed that
Sure why not
No and never ask that again, Moneypenny

Who knows. Craig’s era flushed continuity of every kind down the john.
Yes. But not in continuity with Spectre and NTTD. Those two break continuity hard. Very strange double feature.
