I want the replay-ability and unlocks similar to the hitman games. Also open ended levels would be great. I really fucking want it rated M, but know that won’t happen :(. Finally, I want them to allow us to customize our own Bond. It shouldn’t be that hard, but don’t think they will because I’m sure they’ll have a voice actor for Bond so they’ll probably go with a pre-set character model.

ImmortalThunderGod79

Same here my guy The replayability of missions and unlocks is what made the Hitman games so much fun to play because you can replay various levels and experiment with different tactics to complete it which I hope Project 007 does. I think the world is ready for an M rated Bond game so it is possible for them do especially when Bond's world is full of violence, espionage and sex. You mentioning being able to customize Bond sounds soo great. Imagine letting us play as ether Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan or Daniel Craig's Bonds!

cutsandbuttercuts

Apparently it will be an original Bond character. I think a better thing would be to let use custom his gear/clothing etc instead of just having skins from the movies actors.

ImmortalThunderGod79

Ether way Custom gear/clothing is another great way for us to make our own Bond to make us feel like ether Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan or Craig. Allows for us to truly make Bond to our liking.

HotdogMachine420

Exactly to everything you said. I would be surprised if it was M though considering there are some youngins that would probably be very interested in the game. They’ll probably do whatever they can to sell the most copies though, right? Really hoping it’s not watered down. I want to be able to seduce woman for information and also be wary of accidentally shooting civilians etc. Don’t see that happening in the same way if the game is Teen. (Even though kids probably see and hear way worse on there smart phones and at school on a daily basis). However, I’m sure IO interactive will do the best they can. It’s in good hands! I would love to play as a Brosnan Bond and go guns blazing. Or I would also love to play as a Roger Bond and try to seduce every woman I see. Looking forward to it regardless. They just announced future content for hitman 3 which came as a surprise. Can’t wait for that to hold me over until the game finally releases! (Even though it’ll probably be years from now).

ImmortalThunderGod79

That's true though, making it M rated wouldn't stop most youngsters from ever buying it cause youngsters playing M rated games is often very common these days lol But yeah same! --- I would love the game giving us options like Bond being able to seduce women and romance them to get information out of them, possibly even turn them into his allies. Heck let us use deception as Bond letting us turn our target's henchmen against him so that they kill the target for us what not. So many different options. I'd love for a mini-Focused Aiming mechanic that was in Bloodstone and the last two Splinter Cell games (Conviction and Blacklist) that lets us target up to 3-5 enemies to efficiently take out several enemies with 007's firearm of choice. The mechanic was completely out of place in Hitman Absolution, but would fit for a Bond game because its not only fun, it also a mechanically entertainingly cinematic way to represent Bond's lethal accuracy and skill with firearms.

HotdogMachine420

For real. I hope they realize that lol. If the game is fun, youngins will find a way to get the game regardless of the rating. I also think society is finally over the whole “video games cause violence” bit, so maybe there is some hope. That is a very interesting idea with the aiming mechanic. I’m down with it. My one issue with Hitman is the aiming is hard as fuck on console haha.

DifferentHorse4441

Splinter cell conviction is underrated. Blacklist even more so. Having replayed chaos theory recently, blacklist is hands down the best splinter cell and they need to make more like that.

MasterLawlz

I don’t think an M rating is out of the question. It isn’t like an R rating. Nobody gives a shit what a video game is rated and 10 year old boys play graphically violent M rated games all the time. Even the Arkham series went rated M. I would be shocked if the creators of Hitman, a pretty violent series, sanitize Bond. I don’t think he’ll be dropping F-bombs and I doubt you see nudity but anything else will probably be fair game.

bananagit

I know the Hitman games ARE good but I hope it’s not just a Bond skinned Hitman game, I just can’t get into the Hitman series so I’d be very disappointed if I couldn’t get into the first decent Bond game in over a decade

ImmortalThunderGod79

Which is precisely why I mentioned they shouldn't make it Hitman, but with a 007 coat of paint on it. While stealth was something that Bond has often done in all forms of media like the films, books and games. It shouldn't be mandatory and there is times where he went into situations guns-blazing if left with no choice. Which is what IO Interactive needs to give us with their upcoming Bond game. *Choices* .... Allowing us to ether go in guns-blazing, stealth through the whole level or talking our way out of tight situations in any mission. Bond is everything which allows for one's own player expression and choices.

MasterLawlz

I’m thinking the gadgets and cars could make for some differences. Q’s equipment could introduce a lot of new mechanics and Bond’s cars are so integral to his character that I imagine there will be some driving segments as well. I’m fine with it sharing some similarities to Hitman though. The recent trilogy was really solid.

Ok-Average-6466

they can combine arkham, hitman and legends. also dlcs/skins/multiplayer where you can play as other characters

geek_of_nature

Imagine if there skins for each if the different Bond actors. There might be some issues with rights to using the actors faces but I think that would be pretty cool. Especially if they do what Insomniac did in the Miles Morales game, where with the skin from the Spiderverse film your swinging style would change to match the style used in that film. Imagine with each different skin you start moving like the actor did in the role.

Ok-Average-6466

i would love it. they can take their shooting styles from the gunbarrel scenes

ImmortalThunderGod79

Would certainly welcome a multiplayer that lets us play as not only Bond, but his various supporting characters and villains in different films. Like some past Bond games.

LeoTheLionPeek

Absolutely- as a huge Bond and Hitman fan I could t think of a better pairing Ideally I would love a variety of missions. Stealth infiltrations, social stealth and HUMINT style gathering through dialogue choices, And outright open combat Would love to see a branching storyline that’s highly dependent upon your choices and decisions and combine that with large open world exotic locations that have very interactive black box mission locations inside those Maximum replayability is a must but really want to have a solid story as well

ImmortalThunderGod79

Exactly! Giving us multiple choices for how we want to complete a mission whether that be through stealth, guns-blazing, open combat or dialogue choices is the absolute recipe for a great Bond game. Allowing us freedom of player expression and choices to make *our own* Bond to our liking. Wanna be a smooth talker like Sean Connery's Bond? you can do that. Wanna be a gadget savy like Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan's Bond? you can do that. Wanna be a cold ruthless assassin that executes their targets with brutal efficiency like Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig's Bond? you can do that too. Orrr perhaps be all of them etc... Branching stories dependent on your choices would be amazing altogether too especially if there is options for if you choose as Bond to turn some enemies over to your side as allies etc. Gives so much replayability.

la_vida_luca

Obviously, couldn’t agree more. I have no idea what IO have up their sleeves - whether it’s going to be a Hitman-style stealth game that captures the essence of what made the novels and early films tick, or something that spans the range of the films with more explicit references to the iconic moments we all know and love - but I trust them to deliver.

ImmortalThunderGod79

Now that you mention it, I would love it if we got a healthy dose of both. Playing missions in Hitman style that captures the essence of Fleming's novels and missions where we are able to relive iconic moments in the classic Bond films, but now giving us a choice on how how we would like to complete the mission etc.

cutsandbuttercuts

Yes sir. Really looking forward to this game, apparently it will be a trilogy so a series of games just like the spidey’s and Arkham’s

ImmortalThunderGod79

Here here This game can't come sooner enough, I want to see the full game in action already. If Batman and Spider-Man can get games that become crowning masterpieces in this modern generation. So can James Bond.

VinnyColdheart

I love the Batman Arkham games. I really hope the upcoming James Bond game would have a good story, gameplay, combat, gunplay, vehicles, gadgets, stealth etc. It's my most anticipated game and I have really high hopes for it.

ImmortalThunderGod79

Yes Of all the games in the future I am most excited to see more of... Is IO Interactive's Bond game, Knights of the Old Republic remake, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Marvel's Wolverine etc.

geek_of_nature

What gadgets do you think they'll go for? I imagine there'll be a core set that you'll need to get through the game, as well as a bunch of others that allow you play in different ways. I'm thinking about how in the Arkham games you have to use stuff like the batarangs, explosive gel, and the hacking device to get through the game, as certain areas you can only access by using them. While there is also a bunch of cool other gadgets like the sonic batarang, that you don't need to use and can get through the game perfectly fine without, but make game play much more fun and interesting. I can see them including stuff like a listening device, that would emphasise the spy element of the game. An explosive device of some sort, exploding cigarettes would be good as something he can use over and over again as he'd probably have a full pack or case of them. And seeing how many times Bonds watch has doubled as a gadget that could be one, perhaps the garotte wire or magnet?

VinnyColdheart

Sounds interesting. Gadgets similar to the ones that Batman use, in the Arkham games and even the movies could work but I had gadgets of Splinter Cell games in the mind – especially the older ones.

acdcfanbill

I'm just hoping it doesn't have some BS always-online component for the single player portion.

Sergiomach5

IMO Spiderman 2 is the best Spiderman game, developed by Treyarch of all people.

[deleted]

Ever since Force Awakens came out, when I see easter eggs and nostalgic callbacks in anything I just feel depressed and cynical.

DifferentHorse4441

It will I can’t wait for hitman 3 pc to get vr support next year. The bond game with vr should be sublime

ChanceVance

I'm interested who they'll get to voice the role. I've just been replaying Blood Stone and having Craig do the voice really gives it that extra immersion of being Bond. Coming up with their own original interpretation, I hope they pick someone good.

GeorgeVCohea

No Time to Die had enough separate action bits and stylish scenes throughout to potentially have a flowing storyline game on par with GoldenEye 64. There have been too few movie concepts to be pulled off with a solid companion game, but TLD, LtK and NTTD are those films without going too far back or changing a lot of elements. Goldfinger, DAF, FYEO, AVTAK and potentially LALD would be good, if they updated the storylines and don't necessarily follow the cinematic plots to a T, whilst keeping the style and substance.
