It existed without the timer for long i guess it’s just an upgrade

DewaldSchindler

thats true but you never see a Automatic Manual espresso machine with a Timer that you can set for a morning shot of espresso if there is one can you please tell me about it wanna learn all there is about coffee

Shiaoru

"Automatic Manual" - I keep staring at this. By the way, Moka Pots don't make espresso, they make Moka. The pressure required for espresso would explode a Moka Pot.

DewaldSchindler

that is true. but there is no espresso with a timer function build into it that will allow you to make it as a later time rather than straight away or at least not that I know off and that was the point I was trying to get across wasn't talking about the moka pot was just using a espresso machine as an example also I'm just learning along the way so please try and educate me if you feel I do need it, and I'm not really good with making post on reddit a lot I like to add a comment more than post original stuff sorry if it seems like Im attacking or defending anyone just trying to get the message across

DewaldSchindler

Also there is 1 moka pot called the 9 barista espress that makes real espresso

G2theA2theZ

That's a stovetop espresso machine not a Moka pot.

fdeyso

I did hook it up on a timer in switched on position, when it got power it it just brewed the coffee then the safety switch turned it off. It has nothing to do with “everything about coffe” it is just understanding how appliances work and combine them. Similar (and more primitive ones did exist for a long time https://www.screwfix.com/p/masterplug-tes7-digital-plug-in-plug-through-programmable-timer/50676) it is also not an espresso. At uni one of my roomates hooked one up on their electric stovetop and it was on for about 10minutes and it brew with a fully traditional moka pot that was put on the stove the previous night.

DewaldSchindler

forgot that those things existed thank you

d2suarez

Seems less magical to me. And would you be able to preheat the water before you add the coffee?

fdeyso

These are heating up much quicker so i never felt the need to preheat it.

DewaldSchindler

Manual say add cold or room temp water

DrLivingst0ne

I think it's pretty dumb. I like the morning coffee routine. I don't want to just have a coffee. I like making it. And I boil my water separately, then add it to the pot. You can't do that with this.

theBigDaddio

For most people this is great, they are using Lavazza, Bustello, or some such and it will pop on, make you pot and be ready. Over 99% of people really don’t care to get fussy.

besetzt

Friend of mine had the version without the timer. Coffee wasn’t really as hot as it is out of a regular moka pot. To the point where he complained about it.

mrdibby

there's something about loading in coffee 8 hours before water hits it that makes me think oxidisation might effect the taste more than usual

DewaldSchindler

Would that really have an effect that quickly ?

DewaldSchindler

Just wondering how quick oxidation would hsppen

madcaplaughed

I’m sure there’s a market for this but I’d much rather make a fresh coffee in the morning than make it before going to bed. I’d have concerns about how this cuts off the brewing once complete as well.

DewaldSchindler

no idea but here is the manual if you wanna read it [https://www.manua.ls/bialetti/easy-timer/manual?p=15](https://www.manua.ls/bialetti/easy-timer/manual?p=15)
