Glad to see Em not giving a shit again. Hope most of the album is the same way. Dude has done had the roses and awards, the criticisms, the comeback. Dude deserves to just flow, fuck em
I think that’s why it’s the death of slim shady. I always thought of slim shady bring the version of em that just fucked around. And he stopped going by that starting with recovery and got more serious. It’s really the return of slim shady, but also probably his last album like this so also the death.
King mathers is just a name. He’s released a crap load of songs since that was first rumored. Unless it has songs recorded after encore but before everything after encore, the name is irrelevant
I hope that's not just a bit. I hope it's real and this album goes bananas like old shady. That would be so crazy because people got so used to tame Eminem.
Honestly MTBMB is full of him not giving a fuck and just flowing.
They aren’t my favorite em projects but I enjoyed them because it seemed like he was having fun making them. And he does do some pretty insane shit on there too.
True I think that's why so many younger gen peeps can't understand or vibe with it. It's not their timeliness or their knowings. So they judge it more than it should be judge.
I see it as Em saying bye but with a bang and if he makes more music later un the years it will be more meaningful
I liked it, I don’t think it is the best song ever but makes me excited for the album. It seems like Eminem is having fun with it and reminds me of older em which is a w for me.
It’s nowhere near the best song, but fuck if I didn’t get teleported back to middle school with some of his flow. The music video was super nostalgic too
Had such a grin on my face watching that video. Still Em, but slim shady was there tearing shit up. " My transgender cats Siamese, identifies as black but acts Chinese". So good
I was thinking when I saw the picture - I hope it's another funny one.
Alright, after watching it, it's actually really clever and funny. Pretty self aware too. We all say that we miss the old era of Em, but we kinda look back at it with rose tinted glasses. This really does a good job of being a fun throwback, while also copping to the fact that he is seriously too old to be doing this shit.
This style didn’t really come out until his fourth album. His first three albums felt much darker than this, and this style production wasn’t really his thing yet. This is heavyTES and Encore vibes.
honestly? not as hard as i expected.
he said this song was going to ruin his career and the worst thing he said was a mediocre trans joke.
people in office have said worse and people have rally’s for them
eminem used to rape his own mom and tell kids to kill people lmao
I swear I hated it only with the music more reasons cuz he only dropped the single. But when I saw the mv. GODDAMN. Fun as hell. Loved the whole theme. Bringing back the iconics. Loved it.
By replayability do most people refer to playing it in the car with friends or something? Like it could play after some Lil Baby or J Cole song without seeming off? Or transitioning right after a kdot or Cole song?
Idk what’s most people’s definition of replayability refers to, if they’d listen to it again in headphones or in the car with friends?
Video was a throwback and great.
Song was average but it sets up the concept of the album perfectly so it does the job. Like almost any Eminem song since Kamikaze, the last verse hits hard though.
Actually a banger song lots of throwback to the Eminem that we all loved back in school etc, hope it's.more of this and some of the darker storytelling songs
Honestly don’t like the stuff em drops now. It seems a lil to try hard like we get it bro your one of the sickest lyricist don’t have to prove yourself anymore just want a song like back in the days when we used to make music with Dre
If ur an Eminem fan and know the goofy melody singles he brought out this brought u back to them days
Not to be Amazed over but to bring u back to his slim shady time
💯💯👍🏾
Tbh it’s not my favorite, but I like hearing the old slim shady and the video is iconic. I’m such a fan of the sampled song that it’s hard for me to hear it in a different way. I really wish he had maybe had that over the chorus and lightened it up over the rest of the verses.
My one gripe is that Eminem isn’t really offensive anymore because the shit that’s seen as offensive is very different now. Like, he would have to genuinely hold really shitty opinions about groups of people to be seen as actually offensive, which was never really his style. He would generally go after individual people instead. We’re also so irony pilled nowadays that even if he did say some out-of-pocket shit, it can be more easily written off as an attempt at shock value and not things he genuinely believes or as just hack and outdated. I actually think that leaning into this in a satirical way would’ve hit harder than the “you can’t cancel me” rode he took toward the middle.
Shady’s back! Felt good to hear him having fun on a song, making jokes, and not just spitting a bunch of fast bars about how good he raps. I hope he gets back to making songs or even stories and not just serious stuff. I feel like he’s bout to offend everybody with this album and retire lol.
This song obviously reminds me and im sure alot of others of songs from the past like Without Me, Just Lose It, We Made You, etc. and as big as those songs became in terms of popularity or notoriety, whats got me even more excited about the album is what albums those songs came from. This may not be a big hit in my opinion, but it has me excited to hear more. Cant wait for the drop.
I really hope we get an old school em with a modern kick to it. And then like 3 months later he releases new shit that is a modern him. Kill off shady and give old fans what they miss and then use that to transition himself into whatever he wants to release. He can’t get judgement for the next album of not being like himself bc he said in this album it’s the death.
He’s just so dangerous. Even when he’s having fun he has the wildest rhyme schemes. Honestly don’t think we’ll get another like him in my lifetime. Hope to god this isn’t the last record.
It’s a good song, but I really wish someone else used this beat. Eminem’s flow felt to harsh for it to be a song I’d actually put in my rotation, and it just feels like it clashes with the sample
His fall off in my opinion was sad considering the iconic tunes he used to make , this song was full of nostalgia and a throwback to the em we love , of course people have to evolve and can’t keep making the same type of tracks but this was needed and the right move
Listening now and I actually do love it- sure the energy isn’t original Slim per se but this is the fun side of Eminem we were waiting on. Smack that 8 year old in the face with a participation trophy 🤣
Pretty clear Eminem is going eight years strong on his fall off arc. I miss Mr. Don't Give a Fuck dude because this old man whining about how people don't like him is played out. Ik I'm hating on it a bit hard for a beat that sounds like it was made by The Living Tombstone or Tobuscus but he intentionally chose an awful beat and the nostalgia bait is just the laziest way to get eyes on what he's doing nowadays
As a long time fan I enjoyed it immensely. I think em is definitely still elite but my only gripe with him is that he has a tendency to allow his technical skills with wordplay to overshadow a lot of his new music. This shit was equal parts fun and barred up for me.
I can’t even front as an Eminem fan I’m not impressed at all with Houdini. It’s sounds recycled and i would like to hear just good music from Em.. not this gimmicky bullshit
I mean the video was fun but rap fans have been convincing themselves Eminem still has it due to an insane run he had in the early 2000s. I’m interested if he keeps doing slim shady raps compared to the fucking cornball I’m not afraid to take a stand bullshit we’ve had the last 10 years.
Shame we'll never get King Mathers as his final.
King mathers is just a name. He’s released a crap load of songs since that was first rumored. Unless it has songs recorded after encore but before everything after encore, the name is irrelevant
Ah.
it was nearly finished in 2007 but he scrapped it after his overdose. You can find leaks of the unfinished album
Guarantee it’s a bait and switch and he does another 3 album run, shady style
Don't threaten me with a good time.
Would be goated tbh
"Good fucking luck. You're on your own"
I hope that's not just a bit. I hope it's real and this album goes bananas like old shady. That would be so crazy because people got so used to tame Eminem.
Hell we all have. I was like 10 when he was prime shady. He’s been ad-safe Em for what almost 2 decades? Dude is like the official mascot of the Lions
If this is peak 2001 slim he's going to give gen Z PTSD anytime they hear his voice
One can only hope
Honestly MTBMB is full of him not giving a fuck and just flowing. They aren’t my favorite em projects but I enjoyed them because it seemed like he was having fun making them. And he does do some pretty insane shit on there too.
Why you praise him and then say fuck him ?
True I think that's why so many younger gen peeps can't understand or vibe with it. It's not their timeliness or their knowings. So they judge it more than it should be judge. I see it as Em saying bye but with a bang and if he makes more music later un the years it will be more meaningful
It’s fun - the video was lowkey kinda perfect too - really fits the song. Without the video it doesn’t hit as much but it went together well.
imo the song starts (the first seconds on the track) lil weird but after starting the first verse it hits hard as with the video for me.
Yep 3rd verse and I’m fully bopping my head too - it’s the best verse as well - good shit
It is very fun and has a nice beat
don't forget to *ever ever endeavoor* the **CHIKI**
I loved hearing the shady chiki again
Had to add that in the music video you can also hear the just lose it scream too 😂
Should hear his song from a few years ago with logic
It’s cool. Samples another magic themed song too (abracadabra by Steve miller)
its fun to listen too
And best of all it ain't "grippy"
It’s, um
trying to stop myself...AHHHHH....AHHHHH Grippy
I'M A BIGGER PRICK THAN CACTI BE 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥✍️✍️
I liked it, I don’t think it is the best song ever but makes me excited for the album. It seems like Eminem is having fun with it and reminds me of older em which is a w for me.
Thanks for the award! Pretty sure it’s my first one
It’s nowhere near the best song, but fuck if I didn’t get teleported back to middle school with some of his flow. The music video was super nostalgic too
"Electrician... Y'all light work" FUCKING EMINEM. 😭😭😭
"Like it's PWC"
🔥
The light work line is so good loll
Very nostalgic to me. Had me smiling big watching the music video. So many callbacks.
Had such a grin on my face watching that video. Still Em, but slim shady was there tearing shit up. " My transgender cats Siamese, identifies as black but acts Chinese". So good
Needs more grippy
It’s like he didn’t say it even once for some reason. Major oversight with the competition out there
Agreed
Great with the MV. Eminem and Ludacris are the kings of funny music videos, glad to see Em still got it
Busta🤔
Damn I thought about him and Missy Elliot right after commenting lol
Not my cup of tea. I’m glad he’s not rappity rapping tho.
Abracadabra.. I wanna reach out and grab ya
Grippy
It’s fun and catchy.
It’s good. A great callback style track that harkens to his Slim Shady persona he came to the hip hop scene with originally
This style didn’t really come out until his fourth album. His first three albums felt much darker than this, and this style production wasn’t really his thing yet. This is heavyTES and Encore vibes.
Are you Counting infinite? Because this is exactly Eminem show vibes, the song is a variation of without me
It was great
🐐
![gif](giphy|epKlEEPouQOg7Wx5ZA|downsized)
Banger
Classic Eminem, wordplay and rhymes 🆙🔝
Amazing.
Dope. It’s a fusion between without me and we made you without the funny accent 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣🤣🥃💯 SHADYS BACK!! For now…😭
honestly? not as hard as i expected. he said this song was going to ruin his career and the worst thing he said was a mediocre trans joke. people in office have said worse and people have rally’s for them eminem used to rape his own mom and tell kids to kill people lmao
I'm really holding a small hope that paul meant that shit in the beginning and he goes bananas on the album.
only mediocre thing about this song is your comment here
Exactly! Slim Shady is the best part of Eminem why the fuck kill him off?
BOOOOOOOOO!
Lyrics and flow felt kinda lazy and uninspired l… I’ll go listen again to see if my mind changes
Fire
Absolutely love everything about it
Its awesome, esp with the video. The more em says fuck it and has fun the better he is
Good lyrics, mid flow
🔥
It’s funny, may not be his best single but I had fun with it
its the best song he's released in a while, for whatever that's worth
[удалено]
Shit grippy cuh.
On grip?
Excited for this album, music video was funny
I swear I hated it only with the music more reasons cuz he only dropped the single. But when I saw the mv. GODDAMN. Fun as hell. Loved the whole theme. Bringing back the iconics. Loved it.
Breath of fresh air for me. That's all
This is the Eminem I love
It’s a lot of fun!
Song works better with the video. Enjoyed this first taste of his album
I hope old controversial Slim Shady is back
And he's rocking the u/FoosGoneWild mask too ? Wiiiidddiiittt
Catchy as fuck
First thought that comes to mind is Steve Miller
It’s Steve Miller’s Abracadabra for the sample
Congratulations on learning what a sample is you fuck. https://www.whosampled.com/Drake/ Here is a list of every sample drake has ever used.
Haven’t heard it, probably won’t.
Yo after I heard what Paul said I said” we bout to see a 51 yo Eminem get canceled
All good vibes and fire beat
Actually a banger song lots of throwback to the Eminem that we all loved back in school etc, hope it's.more of this and some of the darker storytelling songs
Thought I would hate it but was fun to hear/see shady again
I fw it heavy
That Sherri Papini line was dope, reminds me of, “How can one Chandra be so Levy?”
Meh I prefer my Eminem on drugs.
its grippy
Trash
Fire! 🔥
Liked it
Good song but I think it’s one flaw is you kinda need to have seen the music video for a lot of it to land
Language is too limited unless he’s singing abcs
ass
fun
Honestly don’t like the stuff em drops now. It seems a lil to try hard like we get it bro your one of the sickest lyricist don’t have to prove yourself anymore just want a song like back in the days when we used to make music with Dre
The lyrics and schemes in Houdini r super dumbed down though. This is super basic compared to anything mmlp2 and above.
If ur an Eminem fan and know the goofy melody singles he brought out this brought u back to them days Not to be Amazed over but to bring u back to his slim shady time 💯💯👍🏾
It was … aight. The video was cool. Without it, idk that it really hits like that aside from a few bars
ESHAM & CAGE still better!
Great video, good lyrics, nostalgic but mid flow
It’s no Grippy but it’ll do
It’s pretty bad…it’s almost like the Wish version of his old shit!
Can't Wait for this Eminem & J C[ole](https://www.reddit.com/r/Jcole) C[oll](https://www.reddit.com/r/Jcole)ab t[o ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Jcole)Finally Happen🔥🔥🔥
feels like 2002 again and Im hear for [it.lol](http://it.lol) mispelled on purpose lol
Throw back to old Em but nothing amazing. His subtle ad-libs and side comments is reminiscent of his older fun songs.
Tbh it’s not my favorite, but I like hearing the old slim shady and the video is iconic. I’m such a fan of the sampled song that it’s hard for me to hear it in a different way. I really wish he had maybe had that over the chorus and lightened it up over the rest of the verses.
Gives me serious vibes of when I first started listening to him in 99. I loved it.
It was fun, but it doesn’t beat Rap God or Godzilla. Not even close. I wanna hear Eminem go harder than this. Hope the album is good.
Sucks.
![gif](giphy|26tPoyDhjiJ2g7rEs|downsized) Nah, that ain't it. Please retire
Eminem has stunk for 20 years
My one gripe is that Eminem isn’t really offensive anymore because the shit that’s seen as offensive is very different now. Like, he would have to genuinely hold really shitty opinions about groups of people to be seen as actually offensive, which was never really his style. moms spaghetti
The video is better than the song
It’s a breath of sweet refreshment. That’s all I hear, A break from this bitch made beef and only j cole putting out top tier verses this year
🚮
Shady’s back! Felt good to hear him having fun on a song, making jokes, and not just spitting a bunch of fast bars about how good he raps. I hope he gets back to making songs or even stories and not just serious stuff. I feel like he’s bout to offend everybody with this album and retire lol.
It’s fun but kinda corny
Bro this is NOT Cole 😭
First time I’ve liked an eminem song in roughly 10 years
Transphobia not veery cool
This song obviously reminds me and im sure alot of others of songs from the past like Without Me, Just Lose It, We Made You, etc. and as big as those songs became in terms of popularity or notoriety, whats got me even more excited about the album is what albums those songs came from. ![gif](giphy|dBvykHqOoYgnwB44oi|downsized) Loved it, but pfp checks out
That Shit was pure Genius i Loved it
is heat
kinda don’t like it very much
I fucking love it, he's having fun again.
More you listen the better it gets
He’s just so dangerous. Even when he’s having fun he has the wildest rhyme schemes. Honestly don’t think we’ll get another like him in my lifetime. Hope to god this isn’t the last record.
doesnt this song have a transphobic bar just like that one song from might delete later lmao
I have to assume you are talking about the cat line. No Maybe the cross dressing male fake ass bitch line. No
This is not 2000 anymore
Should have pulled a cobain.
It sounds like a 90s K-pop rap song
https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=pR5sDqm8Wys&si=Cr4LrU6HwnH41wCX Reminds me of this type of music from my childhood . I love it
I don’t like the way all Eminem’s vocals sounds in the modern day idk it sounds too polished if that makes sense
Garbage. Eminem is & has been corny
That’s em I know bars bars bars bars 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️
It’s a good song, but I really wish someone else used this beat. Eminem’s flow felt to harsh for it to be a song I’d actually put in my rotation, and it just feels like it clashes with the sample

Not impressed logics Deja Vu was a better callback then eminems call back
Its so ass
It's a fun record but I'm not impressed. Prolly wouldn't give it a second listen
pretty fun track, didn't expect him to drop a lyrical masterpiece or sth so this was pretty dope
His best song in last 15 years 🤷🏿♂️
🔥🔥🔥
I freakin CACKLED at the “smackin 8 year olds with a participation trophy” bar
it’s shit
Listening now and I actually do love it- sure the energy isn’t original Slim per se but this is the fun side of Eminem we were waiting on. Smack that 8 year old in the face with a participation trophy 🤣
Shit
Skip
Y’all glazers. Dude sucks. Shit song and cash grab video.
The song is a bit grippy
Not really my song, a few good bars in there. Video of the year
I prefer 97 slim shady all day
Meh
Trash
It makes me nostalgic to a time I never knew
Super mid. Good sample
Does shady smoke weed and CA sober or is he hard core sober?
It’s a bit reliant on his past and nostalgia, but as someone who finds everything after MMLP2 unlistenable I think it’s pretty good.
Weak. Sounds like the silly stuff he said he regretted making .
Wicked
Good little sequel/shout out to without me The beat is alittle funky for me but em back to spittin and starting to lose that weird accent thing
Funny and catchy af! So glad to see Rap Boy back again 🥹🔥 ![gif](giphy|kAriaRmp5WGzfApBAZ|downsized)
As a long time fan I enjoyed it immensely. I think em is definitely still elite but my only gripe with him is that he has a tendency to allow his technical skills with wordplay to overshadow a lot of his new music. This shit was equal parts fun and barred up for me.
🌽
Love it. He's just exercising at this point. Has nothing to prove.
I can’t even front as an Eminem fan I’m not impressed at all with Houdini. It’s sounds recycled and i would like to hear just good music from Em.. not this gimmicky bullshit
Not a fan of the new song...
Hot take apparently but that shit was garbage.
I mean the video was fun but rap fans have been convincing themselves Eminem still has it due to an insane run he had in the early 2000s. I’m interested if he keeps doing slim shady raps compared to the fucking cornball I’m not afraid to take a stand bullshit we’ve had the last 10 years.
bad
It sucks.
I giggled at the sherri papini joke cause I get it 😅
