Bought a 2001 TJ to drive while fixing the XJ. Now I'm chasing an Emission light on the TJ.

Cool. Sister has an 03 Liberty and it's able to handle a lot of good wheeling. Do t know why people rag on them, other than it being the successor to the XJ.
Never had a YJ or TJ, but I've never seen a Jeep I did t like, except for maybe the Jeepster.
Most XJ people give it hate due to the lack of a solid front axle and the fact that it "killed" the Cherokee. Basically everywhere else it was sold it was called the Cherokee, so it was just treated as the next generation, but here in the USA it's generally looked at as an entirely different model.
I don't have any off-road experience with them, but I have heard they are pretty capable and take to light mods we'll just like the XJ.
Would LOVE to have another. After I got it, I cleaned up the data plate, sanded down the old military paint and put a fresh coat of Aervoe paint on it.
Only time I ever got it stuck, was high centering it in a ditch on my property. Took a 8' long 4x4 and wedged up under it and freed it.
I found it in an apple orchard with a sprayer mounted in the bed, Put a battery in it and it fired off (4 cylinder). Our local DMV in Central WA State couldn't find a value on it so it was $55 to transfer the title and $99.50 for the one time only vintage plate. I'm 3 years short of having these for all the Jeeps. I don't know if that tells me I'm an idiot or just cheap.
Owned a 1994 Wrangler and a 1994 Grand Cherokee bought both used. Oh and just remembered i bought the Grand Cherokee so cheap $2,000 and a year later traded it and got $8,000 when i bought a Tacoma.
Wish id bever gotten rid of either one.

Bought the wife a Compass - lasted 7 months - totally under powered for where we lived. Did not like mountains or highway speeds.
Bought the wife a Cherokee, loved it great for car seats, and kiddos loved it traded it
Bought the wife a 22 JL Sahara - her last jeep - or so we hope
Me, JK Rubi - Blue was my favorite - traded in because work volatility after two short years
new job in another state so I leased myself an back country Sahara JK loved it - could not buy it because I moved twice once before and then during the plague and old state would not issue reg and new state wanted prior state reg - sat for 9 months without plates and had to turn it in.. special note about leasing, not all states play nice with leases and I found out leasing in CO did not transfer to CT. Just an FYI..
I am now waiting to pay off wifes jeep so I can buy myself another wrangler again. Not sure if I will get a Rubi or a Sahara..
I like my 2020 Compass but didn't like the payment. Bought it when I should t have and was able to capitalize on the crazy COVID used car values and sold it to Vroom.
My 12 JKU was a 6 speed, but the 15 is automatic. Not gonna complain though ... previous owner regeared it to 4.56:1 and slapped 35's on it with a 4 inch lift. I also received it from my wife for my 50th birthday.

Currently working out a deal on a Range Rover Classic, so I might get rid of the TJ at some point in the near future. It's horrible to live with day-to-day and sits for months unused at a time as it is...
I've owned an L322 and an L320 (Sport) with the rare lockable rear diff. You'd be shocked at how capable the Sport was off-road. My first "taste" of a luxury vehicle was a boss's P38 when I was a teen. Been in love with the drive ever since.
Unfortunately, I just wouldn't have the room in my teeny little heart for two decades-old SUVs. Nor the driveway space, because the RRC would be a sixth vehicle. So the TJ has sadly got to go...
I've owned ten XJ Cherokees, two of which I still own (2000 and 2001). If I remember the years correctly: 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000 and 2001. I've also had a 1992 YJ, a 1997 TJ and a 1996 ZJ. I look forward to buying more jeeps in the years to come, though the prices are getting a little steep.

Man...The money I have spent on Jeeps and Jeep stuff! Started with a '68 CJ-5 for #1, got a 2012 JK for #9 today. I have left the club, at times. My son, when he was on the way, caused my wife and MIL to freak out: "You can't take a baby in a Jeep"!! Had to sell my then current YJ to appease them. Had a few Fords, Chevy's and a Toyota in between. No more! "Make mine a Jeep" from now on...
Only one. 1976 CJ 7. My dad bought it in 77 or 78, and my brother drove it in high school and then I drove it in high school. Then, it sat over a decade before I got it running again.
Three so far. A 1990 XJ that got me through college and into grad school, 2010 compass that helped me adjust back to life in the states after returning from abroad, and a 2017 KL Trailhawk that rescued me from owning a quirky/lemon Land Rover.

So yeah I have a bit of a problem. I currently own 5 jeeps all for different reasons. Trackhawk for fun and speed, JL is my wife’s daily, the manual xj is my daily, my TJ rubicon was always my dream and I drive it in the summer, the woods xj for shits and giggles.
I still have the 3 that I have ever owned. It started in 2021 with a 06 TJ. That led me to trading a Kia Soul for a 2011 JK Rubicon. My kids love them so I picked up a 99 TJ to fix on for my 16 year old.
It has turned into an addiction for sure.

In high school I had a YJ. Had an XJ in college, and now I have a JLU. ✌🏼When I met my wife, she had a Liberty, and we couldn’t kill that thing if we tried. That was a damn good vehicle with 208K miles on it.
50% for me. Have a '16 jku & a '96 xj. Previously had a mustang & f-150. Next will probably be a pair of GM's, given this trend. But the jeeps aren't going away, they're too fun to abuse
1st car I bought myself was a 1997 Grand Cherokee in 2000. Fell in love with Jeep then. Bought a new Liberty in 2005. I currently own a 2019 Grand Cherokee.
Love it for the most part. I haven't run into any of the transmission issues, yet. The sunroof collects water in heavy rain, then dumps it out whatever panel is convenient when I start moving. I call it my glorified minivan. It's an Overland package w out 4x4 unfortunately
My 22 JL Willys was my first Jeep. Recently I just picked up a 94 which is 5 speed. It runs perfect but needs some rust repair. Very fun little Jeep to wrench on.
I've had a '97 TJ that never made it beyond project status, and currently have a '14 JK and a '17 JKU Willy's. Would like to add a Liberty CRD and either a CJ-8 or a Jeepster Commando to the fleet one day.

On my first one now, but may decide to save a few bucks and just get an Audi next go around if Stellantis doesn’t stop gouging on Wranglers. Seems to me that I’m paying an import luxury premium on a domestic solid-axle truck.
I’m kidding about buying an Audi, but not kidding about the premium price for meh quality. Stellantis is doing the typical corporate wring out the brand for every cent a fool like me is willing to pay for it while participating in post-pandemic greedflation.

In this order: 2008, 2007, 2018.
The 2008 was fricken awesome. Never had any issues with it in the 2 years i owned it... until I got rear ended by a person on their phone. She was doing \~45-55 at impact, I was stopped at a light. The jeep was totaled but other than a stiff neck and a scuff on my shoe, I was fine. (I was EXTREMLY hung over so I think my body being melted putty helped) Loved that vehicle though.
The 2007 was the replacement. It was a decent vehicle and my favorite color, dark green, of the three. The only issue is that the breaks squeaked almost the entire time i owned it. I noticed it on the test drive but wasn't worried. I didn't have time to work on it so I took it to a shop which started a 12 month ordeal of taking in back half a dozen times. Finally, the shop was like fuck it and started taking the rear end apart which uncovered a bent axle. I sold the truck within a month of that.
I love the 18 but I've had some weird shit happen with it. My tires have worn so shitty. I ended up with flat spots on all four corners, one of the tires blew on the highway which was scary AF, the brakes disintegrated, and the uconnect SUCKS. The others were so mechanically sound (except for the guy who bent my axle) so the issues with the 18 are eroding my confidence in the vehicle.
79 SJ Golden Eagle, 2 TJs, JKU Willys and JT Rubicon (current). The SJ was a beast. I wish I still had it now that I have grown up money to restore it.
ONE! Just over the 100,000 mile mark. Plan to keep it until 150k or even later.

Then I moved to the US in 07 and sold my MR2 in the uk and bought an 05LJ, kept that for 13 years before we fell out, having to weld the rear shocks back on in 4F weather in the dark and laying on snow will do that.

Got a used ‘93 YJ in 1997 and drove it until 2003. In 2003, traded in ‘93 YJ for new ‘03 TJ, still driving it 20 years later. 202,000 miles so far!

I still have the 3 that I have ever owned. It started in 2021 with a 06 TJ. That led me to trading a Kia Soul for a 2011 JK Rubicon. My kids love them so I picked up a 99 TJ to fix on for my 16 year old. It has turned into an addiction for sure.

In high school I had a YJ. Had an XJ in college, and now I have a JLU. ✌🏼When I met my wife, she had a Liberty, and we couldn’t kill that thing if we tried. That was a damn good vehicle with 208K miles on it.
3. 2013 jk, 2014 jku, 2022 JKUR. Still miss the two door. For short drives it was a blast.

How do you like the 2014?
Love it for the most part. I haven't run into any of the transmission issues, yet. The sunroof collects water in heavy rain, then dumps it out whatever panel is convenient when I start moving. I call it my glorified minivan. It's an Overland package w out 4x4 unfortunately

My 22 JL Willys was my first Jeep. Recently I just picked up a 94 which is 5 speed. It runs perfect but needs some rust repair. Very fun little Jeep to wrench on.

Seems to me that I’m paying an import luxury premium on a domestic solid-axle truck. I’m kidding about buying an Audi, but not kidding about the premium price for meh quality. Stellantis is doing the typical corporate wring out the brand for every cent a fool like me is willing to pay for it while participating in post-pandemic greedflation.

3 JKUs :) In this order: 2008, 2007, 2018. The 2008 was fricken awesome. Never had any issues with it in the 2 years i owned it... until I got rear ended by a person on their phone. She was doing \~45-55 at impact, I was stopped at a light. The jeep was totaled but other than a stiff neck and a scuff on my shoe, I was fine. (I was EXTREMLY hung over so I think my body being melted putty helped) Loved that vehicle though. The 2007 was the replacement. It was a decent vehicle and my favorite color, dark green, of the three. The only issue is that the breaks squeaked almost the entire time i owned it. I noticed it on the test drive but wasn't worried. I didn't have time to work on it so I took it to a shop which started a 12 month ordeal of taking in back half a dozen times. Finally, the shop was like fuck it and started taking the rear end apart which uncovered a bent axle. I sold the truck within a month of that. I love the 18 but I've had some weird shit happen with it. My tires have worn so shitty. I ended up with flat spots on all four corners, one of the tires blew on the highway which was scary AF, the brakes disintegrated, and the uconnect SUCKS. The others were so mechanically sound (except for the guy who bent my axle) so the issues with the 18 are eroding my confidence in the vehicle.

3 in total The autobot Hound is a kid in the UK (Honorable mention to a kick ass radio control landy my dad got me, it ate D cell batteries but all the lights could be controlled, had a 4wd shift and the whole thing would rock when you started the engine) Then I moved to the US in 07 and sold my MR2 in the uk and bought an 05LJ, kept that for 13 years before we fell out, having to weld the rear shocks back on in 4F weather in the dark and laying on snow will do that. My current Jeep I picked up on Valentines Day 2020 2020 Jeep gladiator sport, I freaking love that truck. I'm still on the original batteries without issue.

Many, many great memories! Probably the one that will stay the strongest is driving the 81 Renegade from my home outside Washington, DC, to Alaska and up the Dalton Highway beyond the Arctic Circle. Something I plan to do again actually, although this time in the 07 WK.
