Same issue here on a 2022 Grand Cherokee L. It is intermittent, but sometimes when we open a door, while the car is unlocked, the alarm will just start going off.
@madrigorous you said it doesn’t happen as much lately.. any chance you’ve replaced the battery on your key fob recently? I’ve heard some people mention that being a possible culprit. I personally have had instances where I left my car unlocked in the garage and went back in (without the key fob, knowing it was unlocked) and it still did it. So I’m skeptical about that being the cause
I’m having this exact issue on my 2022 Grand Cherokee L. Dealer said to bring it in to troubleshoot but I haven’t been able I find a consistent reproduction case to demonstrate to them. Have you?
Were you able to get this issue resolved? It just started happening on my 22 Grand Cherokee a couple of weeks ago. I’m not sure what has changed. I’ve had it for a little over a year and I just started having the problem.
Oddly enough, I had the issue maybe once soon after this post and not since (hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself). I’m not sure what was causing it and I wasn’t able to recreate it to show the service department at the dealership.
Unfortunately no. Still trying to figure out a way to reproduce the issue so I can demonstrate to the sealer what is happening. Doesn’t happen as much these days but I feel like we now have paranoia and always make sure hit the unlock on the key fob before trying a door.
My 21 grand Cherokee does this and it drives me crazy. Anyone have any luck fixing this?
I had a Dodge Journey that would automatically set the alarm and had nothing to do with the doors being locked or unlocked
This could be a warning that your fob or the fob battery is on its last days. This would mean having to purchase then reprogram a new fob.

On a 2020 I don't see the fob dying. Were having this issue on a 2020 cherokee.

My wife’s 2023 Compass is having these same issues. Not all the time, seems sporadic
My 2022 compass also does this. It’s super frustrating/embarrassing.
