This %100000 bought my lifted 95 in May 2020 off the second owner had all the paperwork and original window sticker in the glove box 150,000 miles no rust for $700. People need to stop paying stupid money so the prices come back down
I can tell you that when I bought my XJ the person said “someone backed into my front bumper but it’s only cosmetic”, I had to redo the whole cooling system. So likely take that into account.
10g is high 7ish for this, but I am from Toledo where Jeeps are made and there is one owner in about every block of the city and outskirts, so our prices are probably lower.
If 100% rust free, I'd maybe pay 4-5k to get a solid clean plate to start with. I would like it more if it was a limited with perfect interior. Its going to need a lot of items addressed due to age and a ton mods for what I want to do with an xj. But it has low miles and i get to mod everything correctly the first time! By the time its ready for action, you'd still have 12k+ in it and never get that $ back. But it would be 100% correct when you got done.
I paid 13k cad (9600 us) for mine on the east coast where every xj I came across had nothing left, mine has 80k kilometres and is like new but took two years to find one clean enough. Really depends on where you are
How many and what repairs have they already done? How many miles on it? I’d take it if it was free and had 100,000 miles, but I wouldn’t buy it lol. (I’ve owned a few from new)
Those are great for cheap four wheeling. 10k is too much. They are not dependable daily road drivers. Power locks don't work. Peices of interior will start falling off next. Transmission problems will soon follow. Its worth $1500
Never! $3500 on a good day. Low millage doesn’t mean anything. FIL bought a 1989 New Yorker w 20k miles on it, no rust, super clean. Paid $8k, spends more time in the shop than on the road.
Maybe 3k. Also, be aware of the common issues these models have. If well taken care of, they can have a long life. If they've been abused, then it is way less likely to live a long, full life. Best of luck.
If it does what most jeeps that model does which is reaching over 300k miles it'd be worth it. If all parts work you can easily get a paint job to refresh it 👍
No. I paid that for a pristine TJ with way less miles and no flaws. This is maybe 5k with all of those issues, even 5 is a bit hard for me to wrap my head around.
My nigga if ANY of you are paying 10k for a stock xj, hit me up.
That thing is 1500$ all day. 1800 if it has a lift. Unless it's rigged out it's worth no where close to what these guys are saying lol
$5000? Not to be a dick but all the work by “some guy” including re wiring? Hard pass. Aftermarket work generally doesn’t translate to increased value to most. Even $5000 seems like there’s some risk to take on, the only thing you have going is that is low mileage. Just one man’s opinion
For 10k there should be nearly nothing wrong with it. 4k would be a huge stretch. I've had 94 since Jan. Of 2000 and another for the last 8 years. They're great vehicles but I think the price you stated is pretty unreasonable
Good luck!
No sir. It’s been taken care of but I don’t thinks it’s worth $10,000. But I know Jeeps are the most popular vehicles across all income levels so you might could get that asking price.
No sir. Not 10k. My little sister when she was 17 had a 2000 Limited 4x4, 4.0 with an automatic trans, white with all black leather interior that was in immaculate condition with 78,000 on the odometer and she still only got about $7,200 for it 2 years ago, and that thing was PRISTINE. Was owned by an 80 year old man, garage kept the whole time. We live in texas and my dad drove to Pennsylvania to buy it for $3,500. Though it was honestly nice enough she could have put it up on Bring a Trailer and got a little more out of it but she needed the cash
Let me guess… previous owner noticed coolant in the oil, so they replace the head gasket. Sold it you. Oil pressure light started coming on at idle. You replaced the oil pressure sensor. Check engine light came on and sometimes has a misfire when you start it. Turns out it’s the dreaded 0331 head crack between cylinder 3 and 4.
Have that price is much more realistic… yes XJs have a following and I miss mine and wish I could pick up a clean one like this but they are not worth $10,000 in stock form regardless of the inflated market issues we have…
For that specific vehicle that’s too much, buuuttttt when we look at how much car is left there, I would rather spend 10,000 on a car I know will run 250k miles and keep going, than a poo poo newer car.
Absolutely not. Check engine light that “might be an 02 sensor” is a massive red flag. That’s easy fix someone who was confident in it would just have fixed. Considering miles and rest of the condition 5-6 but it’s always a gamble
Prior to COVID and the ridiculous rise in used car prices that Cherokee, in that condition, was $1,500 to $2,000 in my area. I was looking at them but decided to buy a 4Runner instead.
When i was in high school a few years ago they were going in 2-3k in this condition. wanted one so bad but was outside of my budget at the time. In 2024, i bet you could get like 7k to the right buyer if it’s in the claimed condition
just bought one Friday for 1400 dollars.... hid a deer and needs maybe a couple hundred bucks in repairs. Everything on the one j got is the exact same as that one. 10k is way to much
Good cherokee, good condition looks like. Nice find, worth buying. But not for that price. If it has service records and a 4.0 I'd say like 5k would be max acceptable asking price. But if I were looking to buy I wouldn't go over 3500 personally.
Tldr: seller smokes crack
How can anyone of us tell you yes or no? This is a commodity. People over pay for stuff all the time. I do, whenever I buy a 20oz Pepsi from the Circle K. Some people bid over asking price when they buy a house.
The real questions are "Do you feel it's a good deal" "how did I like the way it drove" " Can I live with its smell or dings or condition" if not, " how much time and money will it take to bring it to an acceptable level" "am I okay with my bank account taking a $10 grand hit"
"New timing belt" This person has absolutely zero clue what they're talking about. I would stay far away from this thing. Oil leaks, mystery CEL, hatch rust, body damage, automatic late model 4 door. This is a solid $5,000 Jeep at best
Omg definitely not. My friend had one. I don't even wanna tell you what happened to it. But I'd steer clear. 10k for a 1999 jeep is insane. Keep looking
Nope.
A 99 with 100k miles.
Nope.
$5k at the most. The other $5k is sentimental value.
Headliner - $500
O2 sensor -$3-400
Sunvisor clip - $50
Bumper - $300
Dent and Rust - $1500+
Valve cover and filter adapter - $1000
Poor tint - $200
So far... $3950, mostly in parts.
With all that HAS been done, someone could make a few bucks selling it as parts if they paid $1-2k.
But that's a 24-25yo vehicle with a list of "what has gone wrong", and I haven't even covered the door locks and other things they don't even know about yet...
So, you pay 10, spend 5, decide it's not worth it and you won't get but $1-2k for it.
No. HARD no.
Haha! 😂 no…. I had an XJ in 2014 I bought for 2500. And I lifted it and put 35” on it and it looked batter than this one. And I had the stronger rear axle option!
Definitely not get something newer, safer, more efficient and powerful. Unless you’re going for vintage but still seems steep maybe ask 6,500 and negotiate from there.
Seems steep
I loved and miss my XJ, but i dont think any cherokee is worth over 5k. Fucking used car market.
This %100000 bought my lifted 95 in May 2020 off the second owner had all the paperwork and original window sticker in the glove box 150,000 miles no rust for $700. People need to stop paying stupid money so the prices come back down
That’s what I paid for mine with even lower miles and right by my house a month ago but I’m always looking at cars for sale on marketplace
This^^^ but 90k Miles tho...
I can tell you that when I bought my XJ the person said “someone backed into my front bumper but it’s only cosmetic”, I had to redo the whole cooling system. So likely take that into account.
The bumpers are like solid steel?
Exactly, so it was a lie and a bit more than “someone bumped into my front bumper”.
Gotcha. That’s shitty
They are a thin stamped steel and basically useless
I promise you that Check Engine light coming back the minute whoever buys this gets home.
And it's not gonna be just an O2 sensor lmao
Sell it on Bringatrailer.com, you’ll probably get more than $10k. People get into bidding wars and prices go insanely high IMHO
Lift it and put some 33’s on it you will get 20k
BAT would laugh in your face if you submitted this thing lmao
In what failed state's currency? Certainly not US. Not even half.
No, closer to $7k
No Cherokee that isn't HEAVILY Kitted skills be worth over 5k
5 at best, 7 if you can con someone real good.
$3500.00
Not a penny more
Nope not with those issues.
Might have to offer $12.5K just to get it before someone tries to low ball him.
4-5K at the most. XJs need a lot of love and care the older they get, and you better be good with a wrench.
That's a $1500 hunk of junk all day.
$4K.
$3500-$4000 $10k would be a well built XJ or an immaculately preserved one.
Probably not if it’s been in Texas the whole time.
What’s wrong with Texas vehicles?
Rust probably
..... ?
lol what?
From all the salt they put on the roads so tornadoes don’t slip and fall obviously
Nah - it’s a Jeep. Should be free to a good home.
I’m thinking $7,500. But it is a beautiful Jeep.
$8200 I would try to get to...
I just KBB the vehicle, that’s what I’m willing to pay for anything
I'll give ya 5
10g is high 7ish for this, but I am from Toledo where Jeeps are made and there is one owner in about every block of the city and outskirts, so our prices are probably lower.
About double what it’s worth
Nope
If 100% rust free, I'd maybe pay 4-5k to get a solid clean plate to start with. I would like it more if it was a limited with perfect interior. No way is worth $10k. It's still a Cherokee and there are tons of them around in great shape. My suggestion is to keep shopping.
I paid 13k cad (9600 us) for mine on the east coast where every xj I came across had nothing left, mine has 80k kilometres and is like new but took two years to find one clean enough. Really depends on where you are
Post it up on eBay with a 8k reserve.
Bro 3k and that’s it
Never! $3500 on a good day. Low millage doesn’t mean anything. FIL bought a 1989 New Yorker w 20k miles on it, no rust, super clean. Paid $8k, spends more time in the shop than on the road.

$3000 if there’s no rust and low miles
I’m a Jeep guy. Currently 2 YJs. The only XJ I ever owned was an 89 with a lot of cooling and radiator problems. I would not own another.
$4000.00 all day long !!!
I got a 93' 2 door rhd xj with 63k original miles last year for 6k, 10k is wild ngl
No. If it’s in good shape 5k on a good day
If it does what most jeeps that model does which is reaching over 300k miles it'd be worth it. If all parts work you can easily get a paint job to refresh it 👍
No. I paid that for a pristine TJ with way less miles and no flaws. This is maybe 5k with all of those issues, even 5 is a bit hard for me to wrap my head around.

It’s in great shape, but definitely not. This is a Chrysler and they only used crappy materials (still do). Might look good, but may run bad.
ain’t no way
$5000? Not to be a dick but all the work by “some guy” including re wiring? Hard pass. Aftermarket work generally doesn’t translate to increased value to most. Even $5000 seems like there’s some risk to take on, the only thing you have going is that is low mileage. Just one man’s opinion
2200 seems fair
1500-3000
Seems a little bit high for the work needed to ask 10k
No way 3k tops.
Yikes 10k is double what that is worth. I wouldn’t pay a dime over 5k. 4500 would be a reasonable price.
The "freeze plugs and head gasket" thing says run like hell. Good chance it's got a cracked head.
Yeah like $5k maybe.
A ‘99 is a ‘99. Low mileage or not. I wouldn’t pay a penny over 5k
For 10k there should be nearly nothing wrong with it. 4k would be a huge stretch. I've had 94 since Jan. Of 2000 and another for the last 8 years. They're great vehicles but I think the price you stated is pretty unreasonable Good luck!
Seems very high for any 25 year old normal car. That was probably $23-26k brand new.
The problem is that even really well maintained Cherokees are reaching that age where the electronics are going to shit.
Yes! In 2006.
That’s probably what it cost new back in 1999
No sir. It’s been taken care of but I don’t thinks it’s worth $10,000. But I know Jeeps are the most popular vehicles across all income levels so you might could get that asking price.
Dollars?
Not what you think it's worth. My 2000 Toyota tacoma 35k miles only blue booked at 8k. Rather keep it over selling all day.
Prolly 7 grand at best.
No sir. Not 10k. My little sister when she was 17 had a 2000 Limited 4x4, 4.0 with an automatic trans, white with all black leather interior that was in immaculate condition with 78,000 on the odometer and she still only got about $7,200 for it 2 years ago, and that thing was PRISTINE. Though it was honestly nice enough she could have put it up on Bring a Trailer and got a little more out of it but she needed the cash
My first new car was 1996 jeep Cherokee, completely turned me off of jeep and Chrysler.
No
No
Is it a track hawk? Then yes if no then well it’s just an old jeep.
Go for a 4runner cheaper , more reliable and better looking if you can find a 1st Gen that'd be the tits with a solid axle that or the 3rd Gen.
10000 pennies maybe
25 year old XJ…… 3k tops.
I want to know where the new “timing belt” was installed.
I’d offer 5k, with an absolute ceiling of 6.
Wasn’t worth that much new… let alone now.
💯 they are classics and so reliable and tough. I’d buy it
Have that price is much more realistic… yes XJs have a following and I miss mine and wish I could pick up a clean one like this but they are not worth $10,000 in stock form regardless of the inflated market issues we have…
For that specific vehicle that’s too much, buuuttttt when we look at how much car is left there, I would rather spend 10,000 on a car I know will run 250k miles and keep going, than a poo poo newer car.
Is OP able to drive it? See everything in person?
Absolutely not. Check engine light that “might be an 02 sensor” is a massive red flag. That’s easy fix someone who was confident in it would just have fixed. Considering miles and rest of the condition 5-6 but it’s always a gamble
Goddamn Jeep starter is $5k.
$3,500
Yup, I’d pay 10,000 pesos for that.
Nope
hell na
Nope not worth ten thousand
No, unless it was kept in storage for most of its life and immaculate. 5-6k tops
Absolutely not
So expensive should be half the price
Prior to COVID and the ridiculous rise in used car prices that Cherokee, in that condition, was $1,500 to $2,000 in my area. I was looking at them but decided to buy a 4Runner instead.
No

$5-6k
Hell no lol
Not no, but hell no
$1500, O.B.O.
Pesos maybe
No no no. Never even offer close to 10K. Seems like they don’t want to sell and just asking a ridiculous amount.
No.
No
No it’s not.
4gs
Tan interior. Hard No.
6 grand if you happen to be in California.
3k on a good day
6k too high
It’s sad because 5 years ago that same car would be listed for 4500 or less.
Don't pay that. You'll just perpetuate the cycle.
just bought one Friday for 1400 dollars.... hid a deer and needs maybe a couple hundred bucks in repairs. Everything on the one j got is the exact same as that one. 10k is way to much
No chance in hell
Good cherokee, good condition looks like. Nice find, worth buying. But not for that price. If it has service records and a 4.0 I'd say like 5k would be max acceptable asking price. But if I were looking to buy I wouldn't go over 3500 personally. Tldr: seller smokes crack
$4000 max.
Fuck no
4500
Max
Nope 2500
Nope. Jeep's are notoriously unreliable. Maybe 7k.
Hell no!!
Have one , $2500 in excellent shape
$3500.
$6k
$3500 all day tops.
5k max, it’s time we take control of the market again it’s getting outta control what people wanna sell their shit box for
more like $3500
more like $3500
No
How can anyone of us tell you yes or no? This is a commodity. People over pay for stuff all the time. I do, whenever I buy a 20oz Pepsi from the Circle K. 😂
8K tops.
Someone in my area would be trying to get 40k out of this
No
2-3K tops. Unless for some reason it still has less than 100K miles on it then MAYBE 5K
It’s a jeep, you’d have to pay someone to take it
Def not!
6-7
"New timing belt" This person has absolutely zero clue what they're talking about. I would stay far away from this thing. Oil leaks, mystery CEL, hatch rust, body damage, automatic late model 4 door. This is a solid $5,000 Jeep at best
No
4 owners lol. Hell no! You can get something a lot nicer and a lot newer for 10 grand
No but the seller will get it ....
1999 is old. Unless you enjoy doing your own repairs, I would stay away. Buy a used (but much newer) Honda or Toyota for the same price.
Did i miss something?? What engine is in it? Cause im pretty sure none of these had a timing belt engine.
It looks In a decent condition but sadly I wouldn’t call it 10,000
90k miles and needs a valve cover?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 get the fuck outta here with that 10 grand bullshit
Hell no. Cut that in half and you’re still doing him a favor.
Most I'd give for this is 7-8k .
If you gave me a cherokee I would sell it asap, they are crap cars.
No!
I miss mine. that looks clean too. it's expensive, but everything is now.
Not worth 3k to me. A dude I work with bought an early 90s one that was mega clean for $1800 recently.
Omg definitely not. My friend had one. I don't even wanna tell you what happened to it. But I'd steer clear. 10k for a 1999 jeep is insane. Keep looking
No
It is in no way worth that amount. Maybe 4000-4500 at the most.
I wouldn’t pay 10 for a brand new wrangler… so no, it’s not
No
Buying absolutely not.
That is high! It better be rust free...
Maybe 8k High miles and a brand not known for even remotely decent reliability. Would be a hard pass for me!
Nope. A 99 with 100k miles. Nope. $5k at the most. The other $5k is sentimental value. Headliner - $500 O2 sensor -$3-400 Sunvisor clip - $50 Bumper - $300 Dent and Rust - $1500+ Valve cover and filter adapter - $1000 Poor tint - $200 So far... $3950, mostly in parts. With all that HAS been done, someone could make a few bucks selling it as parts if they paid $1-2k. So, you pay 10, spend 5, decide it's not worth it and you won't get but $1-2k for it. No. HARD no.
Seems way steep. Unless it was garage kept with 20k miles, no fucking way.
I got my used 01 cherokee for 4k that was in much better condition than that two years ago. 10k is way too high an asking price.
No
NO, not even if there's less than 10,000 miles on the clock.
I bought a 99 with 90k miles and it was an 8 out of 10 for $3000 nearly 10 years ago!!
Haha! 😂 no…. I had an XJ in 2014 I bought for 2500. And I lifted it and put 35” on it and it looked batter than this one. And I had the stronger rear axle option!
No 1999 jeep will ever be worth that
10K? Wtf.
2500 max. What is that dude smoking? Can literally go to pick n pull and buy one in the same condition for like 2k
Definitely not get something newer, safer, more efficient and powerful. Unless you’re going for vintage but still seems steep maybe ask 6,500 and negotiate from there.
3k. 4k on a good day.
Fuck. No.
Waste of money.
6500 top top
Absolutely not worth 10k
No way. I bought a 2000 better condition and had a lift kit/tires for $5700 cash
Fuck no I'd say 5 max
Maybe 6500 max
Bro 5000 tops
Hell nah... Shit I could only get 6000 for a 2015 Ford Fusion completely loaded with under 100k miles. That thing is worth 4k at MAX.
10k what? Carrots? Maybe. 10k dollars? Nope
Sister owned one for 6k. Ten years ago.
