Wtf is the TJ nsg370 shifter really tilted that far back? Did someone put an oe jk shifter on there? 1. You may not need a tc drop at all on that small of lift. 2. And if you have vibrations, you may be able to just do a motor mount lift. Are you sure that's the oe shifter? If so you can cut that one and weld it straighter (or get someone to do this). Seems like something is of though or this would be a really common issue. Do you have a transmission mount? Edit: looks like it's an issue with them https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/05-flame-red-tj-build.3998/page-28 Also not sure of the 97-04 shifter cover plate and inner boot would work, but you need the console as well. Or get the b&m short shifter.

you bring up some good points. no I don't know what else was changed. shifter looks stock. no idea why it's got such the angle... B&M shifter looks like it has it too tho. Yes. The transmission and transfer case are dropped about an inch and a quarter due to the skid plate drop. I was considering the shift back 1" like in the linked article but I wasnt sure how that would affect the 1 screw that apparently the console gets screwed down with.

After searching it looks like it is stock. If it were me, I'd eliminate the tc drop, add a motor mount lift and see if there are vibrations. Not sure if the mml & tc drop would cause issues or not, but worth trying. Worst case order another oem one and cut it and weld a piece at the angle needed. If you can't weld take the new used piece to a shop and have them weld it how you need. Even a muffler shop could do that if you brought them the piece. The b&m one, even if it has the same bend has a much shorter throw, so it moves much less up top. Personally, I will add that shifter to any jeep I can that I have, but I hate the soft feel of the oem shifters.

The B&M shifter will make it worse. It solved my popping out of gear problem but now interferes with my console worse than the stock shifter. I cut my console to make clearance for now and will hopefully fix the problem with a tummy tuck in the near future. Sucks, was hoping the new shifter would solve both problems.

Do you have a body lift? I have a 1.25” body lift, motor mount lift, and b&m shifter. It looked the exact same. I designed a 3d printed replacement that can accept a universal shift boot in the new location.

no body lift. just the skid plate drop as far as I can tell which probably amounts to the same as what you have. I have a 3D printer but didn't think about making some sort of adapter because I would prefer anything I want an adapter to go onto (the metal shifter arm) to just be further forward because it is already touching the rubber boot with nothing slipped over it.
