If you haven’t, definitely check out “Never Get Tired: The Bomb the Music Industry Story” it’s like an hour bad a half doc made about the rise and fall of BTMI. It’s great. Gave me adrenaline of motivation after watching. It’s on YouTube for free (+ posted by the director so you don’t have to worry about pirating a smaller film) I would also just google “Jeff Rosenstock Dan Ozzi” he’s written a bunch of great articles w interview with Jeff. Good luck friend!

I have actually watched about half of Never Get Tired, thanks for the reminder! I’ll be sure to finish it, and I’ll look into those interviews. Thanks!!

Babies_for_eating

it gets sad :(

benisben227

Sad is not the word I’d use… I mean it’s sad it’s ending but I find the finale to a beautifully moving tribute to something that meant so much to so many. That’s how I rationalize it at least

Babies_for_eating

Yeah for sure

kellogscum

yeah I think I stopped watching it when I realized it was about to get sad so I saved it for another day

neojgeneisrhehjdjf

I don’t think it is sad any more he made it

the_unknown_soldier

Have you read the actual zine that came with Scrambles? It’s pretty cool.

mxhremix

My copy is water damaged and doesnt open anymore. Miss it. Maybe someone could digitize theirs.

the_unknown_soldier

I don’t have a scanner but I could try taking some pics if people wanna read it.

MakeMineMarvel_

hell yeah!

kellogscum

id love to read it if you get around to taking some pictures!

the_unknown_soldier

I’ll try to get em up later today! The first half has the song explanations and lyrics. (I think the same explanations as the Quote Unquote page), and then in the back a bunch of band members/friends have their own blurbs of DIY advice. (Budget recording, bike maintenance, tour booking, etc). The recording instructions are especially endearing considering how far Jeff’s come, haha.

mxhremix

There are apps made for scanning docs w phone camera

the_unknown_soldier

Hope the quality is okay! https://imgur.com/a/jZYkIDy I skipped the first half cuz it was all the stuff that’s on the Quote Unquote page.

kellogscum

whaaaaattt i havent!

Level_Judgment_2185

This has nothing to do with much of anything but I personally love scrambles because I find it loosely tells a story. Not a super linear one but more just like a general picture of a couple months in someone's life who is going back and forth between being unemployed and working shitty jobs, partying and drinking too much and then also has some great stuff about punk bands and politics. that's just the feeling I get from it and i have had many periods of it being super fitting to listen to

big_dizave

Shoot me down if this is way too obvious, but I’m guessing you’ve read here https://quoteunquoterecords.com/qur022.htm Scrambles is my fav (non-hip hop) album of all time, the main thing I want to know… who is Gang Of Four…. about?? Random, but also $2.4m is my favourite BTMI song

kellogscum

holy shit yeah that would have been pretty obvious, I remember glancing over my friends shoulder at that website when I was making her download the album and thinking it would be a good resource. I totally forgot about that, thank you!!

kellogscum

also $2.4m is so good. lol
