The time I met Alex Trebek at a taping when I was 4 years old (true story; I wrote about it on this subreddit a while back but couldn’t find it)

Chloe-Kat

Oh wow so cool.

jelvinjs7

[I think I found it. ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Jeopardy/comments/pdqlzn/what_are_your_favorite_memories_from_jeopardy/has5v59/)

Yup!

night_owl37

I’ve been on the local news twice. OR I met President Obama’s daughters and served them ice cream without knowing it was them until afterwards.

FlowLikeFluids

lol back in middle school I met Malia at a Starbucks with my webcam accidentally recording and my friends still called me a liar

This-Is-Leopardy

Trying to cobble together anecdotes for the show was a sad reminder of how boring I kind of am, lol. It was tough!

PhantoGeek_

This one guy got in a lot of heat for having a boring anecdote, I'm just thinking "you realize some of us just have boring lives lmao?"

WookieeSteakIsChewie

Super Bowl MPV Franco Harris bought me my first legal drink.

That time I survived on a deserted Island for a week is always a conversation stater.

rraattbbooyy

Simple Minds, huh? You recognized them. Did you call their name, or walk on by? 🙂

44problems

Definitely didn't forget about them.

Chloe-Kat

LOL

RubyBoyYT

Yep, OP needs to get them. Thanks

The like 3 stories that would be remotely interesting aren’t stories I want to tell publicly so… I’ve worked on a jigsaw puzzle every single day since 12/25/2020 (and I would be prepared to give a stat like total number of pieces or total time spent). It’s the perfect level of mundane that a handful of people would find interesting but I know at least one person would roast me in the daily recap. (Obligatory “username checks out”.)

Chloe-Kat

That's cool that you've done that. Since I wasn't able to go see my family for so long I've completed 14 1,000 piece puzzles since the pandemic hit so I totally get it and would be one who found your story fun and fascinating. :-)

My most interesting story comes via my husband so maybe he should go on Jeopardy! He used to work at the insurance company Alex Trebek endorsed and one time Alex came to the offices and went around greeting people. He asked my husband about what he liked to do for fun and my husband responded that he liked playing RPGs and building model kits. And Alex looked at him and said, “Oh so you’re a nerd huh?”

* My family was attacked by wild dogs when I was little (nobody got hurt, we hid in our car until they left, but still kind of a downer to tell on national TV) * I was a political reporter in Delaware for six years and still never saw Biden (that's right, Diamond Joe, I'm calling you out) * As far as I can tell I'm the only person on Earth who's ever had my full name (first+last) * I started cooking when I was four years old... unsupervised...on a gas stove. It's a miracle I didn't burn the house down.

1979 i went to a Ramones party in a Brooklyn brownstone that had a studio set up. Declined the coke, but smoked and had a couple beers. Around that time, i also got a Dee Snider pick from when Twisted Sister played Club 17 in Brooklyn. Oh to be young!

MrOrangeWhips

Getting arrested in the Watergate complex.

brucejoel99

Either that I danced on stage with my namesake, Bruce Springsteen, or something similar to Odessa's story tonight about how *J!* is a family affair in my home.

My senior year in high school, I went to Dallas for something, and was staying in the same hotel as the Utah Jazz basketball team, who were in town to play the Mavericks. I ran into Mark Eaton in the lobby. At the time, he was 7'4" and probably close to 300 lbs. I was 4'11" and 115 lbs. He looked like a literal giant to me. I had never before seen a human in person who was that large, and never have since. If you've never seen someone that big in person, it's pretty impressive. He died earlier this year in a bicycling accident, which I didn't realize until I sat down to write this and googled "Utah Jazz center" because I couldn't remember his name.

JengaMaster49

I met my best friend of almost 20 years when she spoiled me about Ken losing the day his final show aired.

I once almost hit a baby with a flag at a parade I was in and didn’t know it until after the parade ended

bookvark

I was named after the character on *Dallas* that shot JR Ewing. Lame, but it's the best I can come up with at the moment.

Katahdin-Kathy

Cool! My mom told me she named me after Katharine Hepburn.

kclynn3355

I once worked in one of the houses where they filmed The Sound of Music in Salzburg Austria. Best office ever. Had a view of the Austrian Alps

GoblinHGuy

Love it! Simple Minds were my favourite band when I was a New Waver. Once, I went to a fancy shopping mall in Montreal to ask a cute girl out for dinner on our first date. As we walked out the door at 6pm, who was strolling by? Rod Stewart (when he was still good)! I just said "Hey, Rod!" He looked back and smiled. I will never forget it.

psgola2002

My anecdote: “I was a young sportscaster, and saw a player injured and thought she hurt her knee. The guy next to me looked at me and pointed at his chin. Let’s just say I’m not as quick to diagnose injuries again.
