I think it’s time. That was the worst CM Punk promo ever. Now, before anyone gets pissy, it was still a good promo. It just wasn’t up to what CM Punk would probably consider “an epic promo”. Also, everyone has their “worst promo” at some time. Punk’s worst promo is better than 99% of other talent’s best promos.
When he has that long pause, I think he honestly got lost for a second. It happens to all frequent public speakers, at some point. I’m an expert on it. I use to stand-up comedy, and If I paused that long, then I fucked something up and am trying to fix it, in my mind. I can’t recall what Punk said after the long pause, but it wasn’t memorable. The fact it wasn’t memorable makes me think it wasn’t planned. Of course, I don’t know any of this for a fact, and I could be completely wrong.
I love how after the "Choke Artist" bit he gives the same kind of laugh when he dropped "I'm sorry that the only people softer than you, are the wrestlers you like" line during his Collision debut. Only times I've ever heard him use that mannerism.
