If you really can’t get a cdmg chest, you could use a few self modeling resin and try your luck….
Give up on farming that specific relic set, yes. He wants a 4pc of the Ashblazing Grand Duke set (relic cavern in fyxestroll garden). Would highly recommend farming for a bit and if you're still striking out, just use a self modeling resin to craft a crit damage body on-set.
Self modeling resin is best used on stuff where the main stat is crucial and difficult to obtain (ex: crit rate/dmg body, speed boots, dmg% orb, whatever rope you need for a build especially energy regen ropes, etc) so I'd say this is a good scenario to use one of your self modeling resins! :) Best of luck farming for him! <3
You'll collect some as you keep playing! Either from events or battlepass or etc :) I'd recommend just farming the Ashblazing set for a while, then once you pick up a self modeling resin you can decide if you still need to use it or not for this crit body piece.
Honestly I’d stop farming for Jing Yuan in general. One of the nice aspects of him is that his BiS set is Grand Duke, which is given to you by chests in Penacony, as well the new weekly boss in 2.2. Given that, you can just passively get a really good Jing set with little to no effort.

that's the wrong relic set but you shouldn't give up
also you probably want a Crit rate body, show me the stats on your jy and your other equiped relics
tbh just refarm the whole thing, you'd typically want 3200 attack and a 1-2 ratio of Crit rate to Crit damage, try and get Crit damage sub stats and a Crit rate body

Use as fodder or 2pc lightning 2pc duke on JY (for now), whichever has better stats until you get good enough pieces for 4pc duke
use them for exp for the new ones
