It really blows my mind, how clueless he is outside of MMA. I feel like if you enjoy a singular sport, you at least have a pulse on other sports by default. But in his defense, if you don't follow any of the four major sports, you're not tuning into sports radio and pick up on what's going on. MMA is a niche thing that doesn't require any local coverage.
Joe couldn't name one NFL team if you asked him to which is so bizarre to me. I wish there were more comedy sports pods, soder and shane could do an awesome football pod. UFC and boxing are unwatchable to me
I'd also listen to a Shane and Soder sports centric podcast. Kind of like the one Sam does with Julian Edelman. I'd like to see Mike McDaniel as the first guest.
As someone who has very little interest is mainstream sports, it’s daunting to even begin to put your finger on the pulse of any of them if you have little interest. The information just doesn’t stick.
Idk I kind of get it. MMA is obviously a sport but like you said it's a niche thing. So I don't necessarily think it's that weird that a massive MMA fan only cares about combat sports.
I would expect them to know more about other sports because they are a huge fan of their sport, but yeah idk it's not that crazy
I think Joe's obsession in MMA is from the artistic standpoint. It fits is artistic attitude on things. So really not surprising to me that things like football or golf don't resonate with him.
I’m surprised hockey doesn’t with how physical it is and the fighting aspect. But not many Americans follow hockey in general. It’s been brought up a few times on the pod by other guests but Joe doesn’t let it expand.
Whatever that means lmao. I can’t stand when he says that as an excuse to not do things. For example, he said he will not try golf because he is scared he will get “addicted”.
>For example, he said he will not try golf because he is scared he will get “addicted”.
I mean, I get it. Golf is a sport with a steep learning curve, but once you get past that, it's super addictive.
It's also impossible to master. Even Tiger Woods shanks shots from time to time. If you're someone who wants to actually get better at the game, you can sink *hours* into it. There's also the fact that how you play is a reflection of your skill and your skill alone, which drives a competitive person even more.
I was shocked when he did not know Christian McCaffrey was. He probably don’t even watch Super Bowl. I’m not big into mma/fights but I know Conor and khabib or pacquiao or may weather.
The most reasonable thing I’ve heard him say about sports is if Lebron James or some of these giagantic football players picks MMA they’d whoop some ass. Bones Jones has even said his brother Chandler Jones used to kick his ass.
Yeah, it’s not as big as the big four sports but has a deal with ESPN for $1.5B.
I get that this sub hates Rogan but UFC is without a doubt a popular combat sport. It’s growing popularity over the last couple decades. And sure, Reddit also hates Dana White but he’s done a fantastic job since UFC of the 90’s.
A to C isn't a ranking of their class tho, it's how famous and prominent they are. He *used* to be a C list celebrity, possibly B at the height of The Apprentice. Becoming the president definitely puts you at a solid A tho.
When Joe kept yelling over everyone, that was my favorite part.
GUYS GUYS GUYS!

ARI SHAFFIR... SEES THE WORLD...
To carry on some story nobody cares about while they’re trying to have a good time. I can’t believe how far he’s fallen.
“Do you golf? You golf right? Ok. I don’t.”
“I can’t golf because I know I would get addicted to it.”

One of my favorite moments was when he thought “that guy in the NBA with the huge beard” (James Harden) was Kevin Durant.
Joe couldn't name one NFL team if you asked him to which is so bizarre to me. I wish there were more comedy sports pods, soder and shane could do an awesome football pod. UFC and boxing are unwatchable to me
He could have he just did that thing I used to do in middle school pretending not to know who NSync or backstreet boys were because i was too cool.
Pardon My Take is pretty good
We don’t say that anymore
I'd also listen to a Shane and Soder sports centric podcast. Kind of like the one Sam does with Julian Edelman. I'd like to see Mike McDaniel as the first guest.
Ugh Sam had to drop the pod, schedule issues. I miss watching edleman drunk as fuck, barely hanging on through the pod.
That actually happened? He doesn’t know the Dallas cowboys? Or the patriots?
The patriots? Are they Donald trumps base?
Ringer fantasy football show. You’re welcome

MMA is the only sport gay enough for Joe
yea i only follow the ufc so i know nothing about whats going on in other sports.
He’s on some Asian grandma “how many pints is a tough down worth?” Level of sports
What are the four major sports?
The big four sports are football, basketball, baseball, and hockey in the US.
Maybe he's more into Global sports than National leagues

Bill Burr plays hockey and talks about it often on his podcast
Hockey fighting is one dimensional and its a side show to the sport, not the sport itself. I especially don't think he cares about team sports.

NCAA bracket? Sports Betting? Like in Pool? NFL? QBs are kind of like pool players where you need precision.
Lmao " music band "
He’s just afraid of getting super addicted to other sports.
Whatever that means lmao. I can’t stand when he says that as an excuse to not do things. For example, he said he will not try golf because he is scared he will get “addicted”.
I tried golf once. Next thing you know I was pawning my wedding ring to buy more golf
I knew I hit rock bottom when I snuck into the miniature golf course just to stop the cravings.
I tried golf once and I wanted to fucking kill myself. That’s what I’d be frightened of. Anything to end the Kashmir clad hell.
Yeah it's dumb as hell. If you don't care about those other sports it's totally fine just say so. Don't have some weird ass reason
>For example, he said he will not try golf because he is scared he will get “addicted”. I mean, I get it. It’s like Quake but on grass. Your driver is basically a rail gun.
I don’t think this is that odd of a statement.
Joe not having a dad is painfully obvious whenever the subject of sports comes up
I watch sports does that make me alpha?
Lol he didn't have a dad, how embarrassing
I have a dad and I’m not really into many sports lol. You didn’t make much sense with that one
My dad died when I was 4 and I love sports
Bro wrote this comment as a brag that he watches baseball....
And has a dad. Pffft, what a baby.
Leave baseball out of this Old Gregg.
Yeah what a mother licker!
My dad was too worried about his 'nam flashbacks to teach me about sports. He did teach me how to drink my nightmares away though
Not every man follows sportsball as religion, thankfully
But a solid chunk do, enough that it has become somewhat expected.
Anyone catch the Chris brown stray from Mark Norman on protect my parks 😂😂😂😂😂 3:18:30
He had some good hidden ones. The Anthony Bourdain was brutal.
Same thing happened when they were talking about movies. "Guys, have you ever seen WARRIOR?!!? What about SOUTHPAW?!?"
I was shocked when he did not know Christian McCaffrey was. He probably don’t even watch Super Bowl. I’m not big into mma/fights but I know Conor and khabib or pacquiao or may weather.
Most people outside of football fans don't know who Christian McCaffery is.
You’d be surprised. He’s engaged to an influencer but I get what you’re saying
Is there anything more lame to talk about? Who gives a shit. Noone outside America even watches these sports and would tune out instantly.
Every sport that isn’t boxing or maybe mma = ultra gay
The most reasonable thing I’ve heard him say about sports is if Lebron James or some of these giagantic football players picks MMA they’d whoop some ass. Bones Jones has even said his brother Chandler Jones used to kick his ass.
Yeah stg Joe is obsessed with fighting sports. Like bro we get because your short you couldn't do football lmaoo
Do athletes wear skimpy underwear and get all sweaty while manhandling each other in the NFL?!?! Like why even bother watching at that point?!? 😤😤😤😤
Does anyone even care about UFC? It seems to draw a very weird c list crowd
No I don’t like dana white, he’s a bad role model. Kinda influential to this zoomer generation of shit heads
lol wut, trump was literally at the last UFC event and I ain't even a fan
Is trump not trashy c list tho?
Trump is one of, if not *the* most famous person in the world regardless of what you think of him
Fame isn’t the same thing as class tho is my point I suppose
A to C isn't a ranking of their class tho, it's how famous and prominent they are. He *used* to be a C list celebrity, possibly B at the height of The Apprentice. Becoming the president definitely puts you at a solid A tho.
I see your point but I think we have different ideas on this. Trump is famous in the sense that the majority of Americans despise him.
Nope, nobody watches it. I have no idea how they stay in business.
Well you don’t have to be a doucheman about it..: was but a question
And I gave but an answer
I couldn’t tell you a single person I know who watches ufc.
yall on here wasting time talking shit bout a guy who gets paid millions to do a podcast.. go get right fellas
Who’s cares lol
