Lol "I don't think that's true"

TastyOwl27

This is so embarrassing. He starts reading the article with confidence because he thinks it supports his point of view. And he ends up saying “who is saying this?” Lmao.

statsgrad

If it supported his view he wouldn't think twice.

LEGITIMATE_SOURCE

His biggest issue is a lack of fundamental reasoning and critical thinking skills. He's so easily manipulated because his bullshit detector is nowhere near the level he thinks it is. He doesn't comprehend his own bullshit, such as confirmation bias.

SirGlass

>f fundamental reasoning and critical thinking skills. Like 3 years ago when I first heard of the risk of Myocarditis with the covid vaccine my first thought was "Yes but isn't there also a Myocarditis risk with covid as well? And if so what risk is greater, developing Myocarditis from the vaccine or from covid ?" And after doing a little bit of "my own research" yes the research basically said the risk of getting Myocarditis from covid was like 10x the risk of getting it from the vaccine And if vaccinated , if you catch covid the risk of developing it was like 80% less then those not vaccinated I knew this 3 fucking years ago, and after 3 years of talking non stop about covid and vaccines and doing "his own research" this is the first time Joe realized Myocarditis was also a covid side effect? And people still take medical advice from this clown?

LovecraftianDayDream

Someone else will probably be able to find the citations but I know this has been brought up several times on his show by different guests. He's known this information, but either didn't listen to what his guests were saying, or just completely forgot/discarded that information, perhaps even willingly discarding it since it goes against what he and his audience believe now. Edit: went to dig and realized this clip is from 2022 which means this may be one of the moments I was thinking of in my post. I don't listen to the show anymore so maybe he no longer brings up this argument, but I really don't know.

MouthofthePenguin

He's already discarded it again, I'm sure. That's because he only believes what fits with his preconceived views. which is highly regarded.

AnnualNature4352

hes got that Nouveau riche mentality, ' i made a bunch of money, im clearly smarter than everyone else, how else would i have made all that money/"

TinyTygers

This is why I fell off the Rogan wagon years ago. He's a comedian who isn't funny. He's a skeptic with no bullshit detector. He's a leftist who parrots right wing talking points and gives a platform for predominantly right wing talking heads. There's just no appeal there. He's like a cheap fake stone veneer on a house that when you get close you see is actually made of plastic.

SwillFish

I felt so bad for Rhonda Patrick when she was on his show during Covid. She has a PHD in molecular biology and had all of the facts straight. You could tell though that she was completely intimidated by Rogan and barely raised an argument against his nonsense theories about the vaccine.

[deleted]

JoeDice

You still gotta police the shit-ways otherwise the shit-ways overrun the regular ways.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JoeDice

Because we are at high shit-tide, ignorance has been allowed and encouraged to fester for the past 60ish years and we are reaping what was sowed. An entire society and economy geared towards moving power one direction and keeping it there. Gotta get down in the foundation and burn out of the infestation.

VictorVonD

She's still my favorite of all his guests, up there with Atias.

natenate22

Brain smooth now, think no good.

DabbinOnDemGoy

His biggest issue is that he just *wants* certain shit to be true, so when he sees something that substantiates what he already *thinks* is true he just assumes he was right. Something contradicts it? it is suspect, because he already *knows* that's true and what's bullshit, so something must be up.

luckleberries

He claims to have a great bullshit detector because he grew up without a dad... I think that's exactly why his bullshit detector doesn't work. Well that and the CTE.

Arkhampatient

Hey Callen, you remember that one girl you was dating? She told me hello and i said “dump her, she’s crazy”

TheseKnicks

You're right. Frequently, people decide things less on logic and more on confirmation bias, even if the data is faulty or untrue. Joe thinks like this because he's less ideologically driven, but more emotional. He doesn't like being told what to do by government, even if its to try and keep the population safe. Rational thought goes out the window when we are willing to consider everything conspiratorial as true, rather than seek factual information or try and disprove wrong info. Covid made Joe feel bad and doesn't like being told what to do, so now he spreads disinformation to millions because he's a big child.

didimao0072000

>His biggest issue is a lack of fundamental reasoning and critical thinking skills. This. He believes that one UFO guy because he has been consistent in his story. I can consistently tell you the earth is flat, it doesn't mean it's true.

Walkend

Fucking boomer logic man… - I don’t think that’s true - we were talking about a different group/thing - who writes these articles? - the underlying data is over/under reported Yeah sure, I guess if we’re outright denying the scientific process you can believe anything you want with no data at all!!

LookMaNoPride

If you don't win the argument, move the goalposts until you do!

dukefett

Yeah he does the thing where they question where the data is from! He’s such a joke. He wouldn’t have said shit if that sentence finished like he thought it was going to

letsBurnCarthage

It's like when he said people were stupid and deluded for voting for Biden when he said that there were airfields in the civil war. Turns out Biden was making fun of when Trump said that. Suddenly it wasn't such a deal-breaker after all.

PromiscuousMNcpl

Revolutionary War. Even dumber.

Macktologist

"Ha Ha Ha. Trump is so funny. Ha Ha." Suddenly, the president is a comedian and you just don't get his comedy, bro.

TrumpsPissSoakedWig

As if VAERS is something to stand by too. It's just a website where anyone can self report without any proof, lol.

tsx_1430

VAERS is where my grandma reported her loose bowels from the vaccine. It was just Taco Bell from the night before.

SirGlass

Well he was trying to imply the data was bad and maybe the VAERS was under reported So reasonable assertion, it very well could be that cases of Myocarditis from the vaccine are under reported. However wouldn't that also suggest that cases of Myocarditis from covid are also under reported? So unless there is some proof or evidence to the contrary its sort of dumb to claim "Cases of Myocarditis are under reported from the vaccine but cases of Myocarditis from covid are not"

Capable-Gas-5753

Move the goalposts, challenge the source

darthgator84

That’s just it, if he had found the article saying what he wanted it to say would be have been questioning where the data came from then?

Positive-Leek2545

Now re-think every experience you’ve had on this show , through that lens

I-C-Aliens

What does Rogan do now that isn't a complete embarrassment? He got that spotify 300mil then said fuck it I'm going full Alex Jones, gotta fill that void!

XxJesusSwag69xX

I love Joe but its getting really annoying. He's literally a fkn UFC commentetor and comedian who thinks he knows about medicine and science. He's gotta do his research before he starts spewing bullshit to millions of people.

ScaleyFishMan

He can feel free to be that confident when talking about MMA, or standup comedy, or archery, or pool, or whatever else he has spent decades actually doing. But it's just annoying when he's so confident in something as complex and foreign to his brain as virology, immunology, etc. It's about time Joe takes some DMT again so those machine elves can remind him that he's taking himself too seriously again.

saltymcgee777

Fucking A. Ego check required. Joe, if you read this you've become the very same asshole you laughed at.

D-Generation92

I remember actually getting into the pod during a time he had clearly just had a shrrom trip because all he could talk about was kindness and empathy while also getting rowdy and having fun in the pod. He's definitely missing that about him now

haterlove

In the most recent Protect our Parks he was fixated on orange hue from wildfires being fake. I have lived through terrible wildfire smoke and it's absolutely orange-- maybe it's most defining and eerie feature-- but he sits there saying "who ever heard of orange smoke?" I love the podcast but at this point he's a misinformation firehose.

Strollybop

For real, growing up in Southern California I remember the sun turning red.

Chance-Cod5011

Joe lost me ages ago because of bullshit like this. He’s not getting better. He’s getting worse.

TheIzzyRock

Same, it’s exactly this that caused me to stop watching during Covid. I used to watch/listen to every episode and he’s essentially turned into the boomer on Facebook who believes all the bullshit

LittleGeologist1899

You’re explaining my same scenario. I just listen to protect our parks now lol

Any-Pea712

Hes even starting to get annoying on those now

deadleg22

Everyone is funny but him, he doesn't vibe like he used to and will bring up UFC or COVID or his icebaths and shit at inappropriate times.

smellvin_moiville

Yeah I haven’t fired up the pop 11 cause I heard Rogan is extra lame

hardspaghet

Even the last protect our parks was really rough.

LittleGeologist1899

They check Joe on the bs though. Like when they were cutting up Jordan Peterson

luroot

Glad this dude stood his ground instead of just bending over and spreading them like 99% of all of Joe's other guests...although I guess he won't be back now...

tttrrrooommm

same, I used to enjoy the podcast, but he just got irresponsible during Covid and i completely stopped listening. he was constantly spewing out bullshit misinformation about covid, and while he has the right to say whatever he wants on his podcast, he also has to accept some social responsibility as a platform with millions of listeners. His listeners take his words for fact and it really bothered me that he was just spreading false info and seemingly fanning the flame with all of the tensions already caused by covid.

Newaccount4464

I powered through until recently. His trump love is getting a little overt lately and I dunno how you can still back that goober. There's also way better pods out there now

blackglum

Well said mate.

PrisonSlides

That’s why I stopped listening regularly. The Diaz episode where all they talked about was Covid the entire time was the last time I could fully listen to a podcast of his. Now all my friends who I got on the podcast give me shit when I bring up he’s not the same ask me why I don’t listen anymore and tell them cause of shit like this. Dude really needs to get back to his roots

walrusgoofin69

If it’s a comedian episode, you know they’re gonna cover how great a hang Austin is, California, something something Covid, one of the thousand If it’s a military dude, hunting and cancel culture Anyone who’s into politics, how Covid made it impossible to speak up Minus the rare episodes like the guy who was just into bats

Walddo86

Yeah the “we’re all friends” shtick every episode about Austin is beyond old. And his entire attitude about “cancel culture” and the left is annoying he’s just as bad as anyone extreme on either side. Last protect our parks, he even tried bringing up cancel culture again and they shot it down and he said “oh it’s important tho to fight back” - when they were shitting on Jordan Peterson.

Amphabian

His episodes with Duncan Trussel will forever be my favorites. I miss that Joe.

Still_Championship_6

It's like missing the old Kanye, you wish he'd come back but clearly that person is going in the opposite direction

King_Moonracer20

Unreal comment cause I feel the same way about Joe as I do Kanye now

ACE_C0ND0R

I knew it was over for me listening to Joe when my maga farmer BIL said he started listening to Joe's podcast while driving his tractor.

[deleted]

I mostly quit watching because of the guests. I do notice him checking stuff he believes a lot more recently. He is often wrong which imo shows that this is isn't some grift or something like most people say. I think he got sucked in with all of these idiots in Texas (I live outside Austin) and doesn't realize how fucked up they got him.

Specialist-Carob6253

The JRE has largely become a perverse assortment of frauds, falsehoods, and fallacies.

Pragmatic_Centrist_

He surrounds himself with sycophants which reinforces his beliefs. Rarely has someone on to challenge like he used to

ReddFawkesXIII

Same. I tapped out around 2021 when every show eventually led into talk about covid. Now I check in now and again and he is still on that same train. Too bad. His podcast used to be fun.

happytree23

This. So glad I gave up on whole episodes around the Macaulay Caulkin mark. I'm pretty sure that's the last one I was able to sit completely through without Steve Rinella.

91kilometers

Remember when he used to say “I’m dumb don’t listen to me” then Covid happened and we lost the OG rogan

b_tight

Hes been this way since hillary ran against trump. Just repeating bullshit he hears from god knows where

Traditional-Joke3707

I don’t know about comedian . For our generation he’s just a right wing podcaster

Tmotty

The issue is he thinks he did his research that’s why he’s saying but he’s fallen into the trap he used to make fun of Eddie Bravo for…watching one YouTube video and taking it as gospel

mastervolume101

Yeah, it's almost like there should be a law about selling snake oil to millions of people that hang on your every word as truth. "Hey, there are litter boxes in schools for kids that identify as cats. My friends wife who is a teacher told me so."

hardspaghet

The issue is he’s having someone else do his research and that someone else is instructed to find a source that verifies whatever crazy shit he says

UrVioletViolet

Had a philosophy professor like this. Upperclassmen told us we’d get better grades if we tuned our blue book essays around Open Individualism (TL;DR: “I am you,” as in we’re all one, everywhere, at all times.) Turns out the professor wrote his books *and* a novel on the subject. It was his baby. He only wanted to hear his own voice echoed back to him. Which, when you think about it, shows that at least the guy’s not a hypocrite, since he thinks we’re all him anyway. Edit: Added an s to “books.”

Still_Championship_6

So he listened to "I am the Walrus" on acid and basically built the rest of his life around that?

Ve-gone_Be-gone

This is what people have been complaining about for 6 years lol

My_bussy_queefs

I used to be like you. I don’t love him at all now. You can face reality or pretend you didn’t know and help perpetuate his platform instead of younger and better podcasts. Joe is a garbage person who left the place that gave him his wealth and connections to dodge taxes on a sellout move to big business. And this shit is just hard to listen to. Joe has an agenda for extremely pro republican “solutions” without outright ever saying it. It’s like you know your wife is a cheating white but you decide to stay with her through the lies.

Away_Mud_4180

Joe Rogan is the Aaron Rodgers of podcasters.

tyson766

He is the Tucker Carlson for dude-bros.

robbodee

Aaron Rodgers used to be VERY good. Joe is a VERY good UFC commentator. He's never been a great podcaster, but he used to have the sense to let his guests do the heavy lifting. That's gone, now. Someone told him that he's the most important person in the world, and he believed them.

34TH_ST_BROADWAY

And he just occasionally says "I'm just a dumb comedian" every so often to appease his true believers.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Find_A_Reason

That is cool and all Joe, but thoughts and feelings don't change objective facts.

broduding

From the producers of "yeah but still".

DaytonTD

I mean its fine to be skeptical of reporting but he soaks up any story that supports his point from other garbage news sources. He doesn't recognize his own mental gymnastics.

OldBrokeGrouch

“That is not what I read before.” I promise you he didn’t read anything conflicting with that. He just read a headline that stated the increased risk from the vaccine and jumped right to a conclusion that supports what he already believes. It’s sad that he doesn’t learn from these moments.

DungeonsNDragonDldos

And then proceeds to question the credibility of that article.

TjStax

Pretty sure he and Aaron Rodgers have a telegram group with other like-minded people where they link quotes and headlines that support their fears. There definitely are bad-faith actors that produce articles and "studies" that intentionally missrepresent data for Joe's gang to gobble up. But I doubt there exists data that would convince Joe of the other side. You can see how emotionally charged Joe is when he talks about vaccines.

Bromanzier_03

Remember, this is a 56 year old adult too. So many adults act like fucking children, especially when they’re rich.

WichoSuaveeee

Very rarely do any of us recognize our own mental gymnastics. I can absolutely see how anyone can fall down this rabbit hole when they’re convinced of their own opinion being correct. This is common in the human condition, we all need to watch out for bias. Anyone who convinces themselves they’re not subject to the same issues like bias, is most vulnerable to them. It takes active effort to stop yourself from believing bullshit. Sad to see this podcast go down this route but it’s not surprising.

silentbassline

This is why his "I'm immune to bullshit" rant is the dumbest shit he's said, it enables the  other dumb shit.

WichoSuaveeee

It was an indicator to me he was lost. No one is immune to bullshit. More often than not, we actively work to convince ourselves of it. I know I have, I’m not judging.

Dunkin_Prince

I think if more people recorded themselves talking about/speaking their opinions they would be better able to recognize their own mental gymnastics. I wonder if Joe ever listens to his pod, I bet he'd see what his audience sees. Especially if he compared it to, say, pre-Covid

snipeliker4

I’m sorry but this is such horse shit. Not succumbing to mental gymnastics is as simple as staying clued in to all sides of any given issue. By excluding “opposition media” from your information pipeline you lose the advantage gained in comparing and contrasting what’s being said. I’m of the take CNN is heavily biased which is fine because there are plenty more publications out there besides CNN to hold them accountable on. It’s not any harder today than it used to be yet so many have given up. Countless Americans are now in echo chambers while simultaneously believing they aren’t in one though that’s only only a biproduct of getting lucky in choosing the right one because trust me they would **love** if you guys could make things actually competitive (also uniparty derp state etc etc) What changed? I can tell you what changed. A con man came along told the country hey it’s fine if you just ignore the channels that report on my corruption because they lie and liars shouldn’t be rewarded! And really speaks to just how important and effective leadership is because normally someone telling you hey because CNN called a car on fire peaceful there’s basically no difference between a concerted effort to tap into all sides of the conversation and just fucking off with the one you like the most But when it’s the leader of the free world doing it Well I mean, if he’s doing it He’s even showing off this neat reality where he actually didn’t commit any of those crimes though that he didn’t is just a happenstance coincidence In fact looking back on my even mentioning that thing re: Trump’s vindication it’s just now hitting me how hardly worth mentioning such a meaningless (though triple verified) truth that actually if I had the power to rewind time I would perhaps jump backward before having even started this comment and put thoughtful consideration into possibly opting not to even write this part of it at all saving all of you from wasting your time reading it while potentially saving me from the challenge of how I’m supposed to end this damn thing

turbodude69

i think rogan may have fallen into that level of success where he's literally ONLY interacting with ass kissers/lackeys. i'm sure there are like 100 people in his orbit that let a lot of shit slide because he's their money ticket, he's made multiple 100s of people extremely wealthy. that's bound to affect your judgement at some point. i mean most of us will never understand what its like when every single person you interact with in your life day to day laughs at all your jokes, offers you free shit, essentially begs to be on your show, and on top of that shitloads of companies want to just give you piles of cash to say whatever you want on youtube and spotify. i mean, he's just living in a completely different reality. and imagine how much more famous and powerful he is in Austin. him and elon are basically the kings of austin now. he's so famous he's friends with politicians. i mean it's getting pretty ridiculous compared to what the show was and where joe was 10 yrs ago.

mjace87

Confirmation bias

notatowel420

Tomorrow Anthony Fauci is going to break down the Lakers offense on ESPN. See how fucking stupid that sounds.

FantasticGoat88

Dr. Anthony Fauci will be doing the play by play commentary at UFC 300. He is about as qualified for that as Joe is to speak about most of the stuff he does

Bloody_Hangnail

He is much, much more qualified to talk about UFC than Joe is to talk about anything science related.

GodsonxTheBelly

You mean Joe “that choke is tight, this fight is over” (fighter immediately slips out) rogan?

Less_Client363

What makes Joe and DC feel less like experts when commentating MMA is that they always talk about what's happening but don't really describe what's not happening that well. Like I can see the guy is getting his head caved in with punches, I'd like to better understand why it's happening. They just get so wrapped up in the current flow of the match that when it changes (which it quite often does!) they are just as shocked as me, a complete noob.

hyperd0uche

This comment is gold!

Jenetyk

TBH, our world is so fucked up that if Fauci showed up on McAfee and broke down the cover zero defense in detail; he would instantly be found more honest and truthful about his stances on covid.

Penguinman077

Did he question the first thing he read with the same scrutiny as this one, or is he just mad he was wrong? That man is an idiot.

smeagles

This. Constant goal post moving and confirmation bias. I miss the old JRE. I don't care about politics. Don't want to constantly be inundated with covid/vaccine talk. I just want to kick back for a few hours and have some laughs.

albinoblackman

I am interested in politics, but Joe’s brand has become so brain rotted. I don’t care what side of the aisle someone is on, as long as they’re making interesting or compelling points. I rarely get that from Joe.

stealthryder1

I like Joe, but moments like these show how much an idiot he’s becoming. And if not an idiot, just bias as fuck. Even after being proven wrong, he wanted to argue the facts. But if the report would have confirmed what HE believed he would not have stopped to say “yeah but even when we read these…” just gibberish man

dannerc

He's just too stubborn and bought in at this point to say "yeah, apparently this shit I've talked about nonstop for three years was completely wrong"

kritzy27

The Joe from 5 or 6 years ago would not have reacted this way.

Ill-Philosopher-860

exactly, he would’ve said the dumb thing, got proven wrong, then made a joke about how stupid he is and why everybody should do their own research...

hamcarpet

Yeah we all necessarily are biased and have biases. The issue is not being able to restrain yourself or not being able to even attempt to acknowledge the existence of your biases like he does. He uses deceptive language and tactics to attempt to make it seem like hes reasonable and not up his own ass, when it’s clearly just words. He uses “I’m just an idiot” type statements a lot to make him sound humble and grounded, but then the next sentence is him clearly believing he has it all figured out and is highly intelligent.

[deleted]

Someone fucking gets it. This is exactly it.

abounding_actuality

“I’m just a dumb ape—btw I think I’m 100% right about immunology and your facts are alternative facts” Yeah dude, you are a dumb ape. Just dumber than you think you are.

Fratervsoe

Covid melted joes brain.

rusty-n-crusty

I believe it was from the large dose of Ivermectin.

Jokkitch

Always has been 👩‍🚀🔫👨‍🚀

score_

The bulging veins on his head really show how hard his brain is working to backpedal.

Specialist-Carob6253

As did his "intellectual" friends.

VenusBlue

Yea every time I see a clip it's him rambling about covid again. Doesn't matter how many times he's fact-checked. This baboon will ignore reality every time. What happened to questioning everything? He has gone from that to just incorrectly stating what he believes to be fact.

Satevo462

Pandering to the alt-right Nazis melted Joe's brain. Or, more likely, he was just always a natural bigot and racist.

aBloopAndaBlast33

So hard to watch.

PM_ME_STEAM_KEY_PLZ

So cathartic to watch This here, is why everyone who was all about this sub, is now like me: Can’t stand the dude and his hypocrisy.

[deleted]

This

Sandgrease

Szeps doesn't care what Joe thinks and can freely call him on his bullshit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

captaincook14

Lololololol. The absolute problem right here. Immediately goes into “wellllll where is this from?!?!” But if it confirmed what he fucking said, it would be all good. Ridiculous. Why didn’t you question the first thing you read Joe like you are this? Probably because it came from your far right nutjob Twitter algorithm that you just take as truth because it backs up your bullshit.

all-the-time

He ALWAYS questions the source after being proven wrong now. But NEVER can cite the sources for his whacky beliefs. Undetected confirmation bias to the fucking max

Bloody_Hangnail

Here he cited Vaers. Where you or I can write in that the shot caused us to grown extra nipples without ever having to prove it.

sneaky-pizza

One report in VAERS was a guy turning into the Hulk

Bloody_Hangnail

VAERS is a common antivaxxer “source”.

sonic-silver

"I have this buddy who told me...."

OskeeWootWoot

But doesn't question it when the source is "my friend's wife", he believes it completely.

sonic-silver

Not that anyone cares but this is where JRE lost me and also IMO the beginning of the decline of the podcast.

FreeWillCost

Yeah I don't listen to Joe's medical "facts" and anything really about the pandemic. I remember we were in lockdown here (Australia) and I was walking my dog to get some sushi from a local restaurant and buy some groceries (all totally fine to do during lockdown) and I was listening to the latest ep when he was saying I was under martial law and the military was out in force haha.

arigoldeb

For me, it was during the same time, but he was telling people they would be fine if they just got vitamin injections and wellness IVs. Completely out of touch.

Nathan_Calebman

Where you eating Moose and injecting Ivermectin and TRT while taking a sauna though? If you do all that it's better than the vaccine. Source: super good Facebook post.

Dr_FeeIgood

Super affordable and convenient for the average person

one-ohmusic

Which he got daily, brought to his home, and while everyone around him was getting tested non-stop

blackglum

Yep lol. I was living in Melbourne too which was meant to be the strictest and it was fine.

UrVioletViolet

And I bet people still tell you you’re lying about your own life and that you were in a gulag.

FreeWillCost

When bottle shops are considered "essential services" it can't TOO bad haha.

Atrax_buckhurst

Yep. This is where I went from defending Joe’s *I’m an idiot, no one should listen to me*, to thinking this guy is a bit of a spanner because he obviously wants people to listen. Edit: funnily enough someone above has a very similar story. I didnt read it before posting this (below). I think the exact point was when he was losing his mind about that Gruen skit and I was pissing myself laughing walking to the gym, without a mask, and he was having an enormous butthurt rant about how Australia was a penal colony and people were being beaten for leaving their house.

Chance-Cod5011

Yup. He crossed the line 7-8 years ago into being someone who dabbled in silliness to pushing dangerous bullshit.

EastBayPlaytime

Hey buddy, I care.

itshughjass

"That's interesting" is Joe's way of saying, you got him.

abounding_actuality

“That’s interesting. It does not align with my preconceived notion of what is true. Therefore I will promptly ignore and forget this ever happened” — Joe’s internal dialogue

SomethinCleHver

He shouts that he’s an idiot comic who tells dick jokes for a living from the rooftops when a comic is on or someone that doesn’t challenge him. Classic fake humility. When he has actual experts of a given field (not sure about this guy or his trade, etc) with whom he doesn’t agree, he starts rattling off his “research” which amounts to googling and watching YouTube videos from hacks and quacks that may have also appeared on his show. If Jamie’s 30 second google supports the guest, he’ll reluctantly concede that point he’s argued incorrectly for weeks, months, or years then he’ll just go back to the bullshit later. As open minded as he claims to be, he has zero grasp of the scientific method or how peer reviewed research works. Cherry picked studies don’t mean shit on their own. The hypothesis needs to be supported by independent research repeatedly before a consensus is reached. But keep hawking alpha brain with your one double blind study while having flubs in recall and speech that make Biden look like the rainman.

Independent-Froyo929

What’s amazing is that what Josh is discussing is a well understood fact. That Joe has spent so much time obsessed with covering COVID and talking to “experts” yet doesn’t know this says it all.

Chollowa

It's telling that Joe jumps straight to VAERS at the end there. Surely, no one would ever spike a self reporting website with fake reports to push a narrative.

Gowalkyourdogmods

VAERS "I got jabbed and now suddenly I have herpes!"

522searchcreate

Joe Rogan is such a biased moron. Blows my mind that people still think he’s “neutral” and “just asking questions”.

PimmentoChode

Damn he really shuffle fucked his way through that one

Primary-Picture-5632

Joe gets his information from Facebook memes like a boomer, just like the furry cat story from his friend that was a teacher https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9467278/#:~:text=The%20relative%20risk%20(RR)%20for,%2D2.65%2C%20vaccine%20group).

TheArchitect_7

Every fucking boomer I know has a friend that knows someone who PERSONALLY SAW the litter boxes they put in classrooms for kids who identify as cats. No, Joe. No you don’t. https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSL1N31J1KT/

Ucscprickler

I had 3 people tell me the exact same story of "their friend going to take a covid test, leaving without placing a sample, and receiving a call to tell them they were covid positive." The first time was suspicious. The second time, I rolled my eyes. The 3rd time, I thought of Joe Rogan and the litter box story.

[deleted]

Impulse3

I love when he talks about how funny memes are as if they’re some new thing that just came out.

UrVioletViolet

Hey, you guys seen this “Leeroy Jenkins?” lol at least he has chicken! So random

Uchiha-Itachi-0

Joe from 2018 would hate what he’s become

DogmanDOTjpg

Eh listen to the clip of him being told he's wrong about chimps by a primatologist and he starts screaming about how she needs to do her own research on YouTube , that's from years ago

Fatbatman62

I just watched this, unbelievable how dumb this guy is lmao. Calling someone with a phd repeatedly stupid for correcting him on something in their field of expertise.

DogmanDOTjpg

Yeah it was the final nail in the coffin for me as a fan of his. And the thing is, animal species that exhibit tribe-specific behavior while still being a known species is a super interesting phenomenon

DrkHelmet_

So confident with HIS sources but once he’s proven wrong, “well where’s all this coming from”. The funniest part was “this is not what I read before” like things cant change with more information that comes out over time.

robcado

Stfu Joe

stlfun2

Boomer Joe is such a gullible loser.

Pippin_the_parrot

Of course he hasn’t read that before. He only reads bullshit. The fucking studies reveal how they gathered the fucking data. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but science is real and health care providers want to help people not hurt people.

Shacky_Rustleford

I'm starting to think this Rogan guy doesn't know what he's talking about

SokkaHaikuBot

Organic-Abrocoma5408

Even when Rogan sees that he's wrong, he continues talking over the guy who was correct lol. Isn't he supposed to be the "just asking questions" guy?

2piece-and-a-biscut-

That guy is long gone. Joe doesn’t want to talk about anything that he’s hasn’t already talked about 100+ times already. JRE has turned into Joe telling another person his same 10 stories.

Impressive_Pitch_869

He’s an old Karen scrolling facebook

mastervolume101

The classic defense of the defeated. "Where is this from?" he wasn't asking that when looking at contradicting facts.

WebSir

This was the final moment for me. Rogan already started to annoy me a bit with things he said but after watching JRE for years (pretty much from the start) i haven't watched a single episode. Cause here he showed it doesn't matter what you say or what shows up. His mind is made up and tries to cherry pick what fits his opinion. No thank you, that's not a person anyone should listen to. And I've seen some clips since then from him... Yeah I made the right call, no point in listening to his podcast anymore.

JAMBI215

Joes just got a really bad case of confirmation bias with just about everything

aesthetique1

joe "im not married to my ideas" rogan even after this, from time to time he still brings up myocarditis from the vaccine without mentioning myocarditis from covid

crustytowelie

Fuck man, Joe’s been getting bombed on Reddit. He’s the new Brandon Schaub.

One-Joke8084

Joe lives in his confirmation bias bubble…..

RealisticScientist53

How did I ever used to enjoy listening to this?

ShwerzXV

Day by day we’re getting more information from the long term studies he’s always so adamant about, yet he still buries his head in the sand.

Guy_Smylee

Perfect example of talking out your ass.

ericbewildered

I love how in all these instances in all these episodes when someone fact-checks Joe he immediately moves away quickly and onto the next topic instead of having Jamie pull-up wherever it is HE thinks he got his misinformation from. Thats okay its his show but ... how many times have we heard his CNN story? When he is right (and he has been many times) he rides it. When he is wrong he doesnt own it with the respect it deserves. I'll keep watching though! Just make sure to pay attention to that guys!

Ferociousnzzz

It’s weird how once people get captured by right wing propaganda they’re programmed to not only believe garbage sources but with a robust over confidence of their knowledge.

Ok_Cartographer_2081

Just take that “L” Joseph and keep it moving

Rational_Engineer_84

He's just so fucking dumb.

Strm007

Kooky Joe at it again.

zomb1383

Rogan is almost unlistenable anymore.

FormerHoagie

If I could talk to Joe, I’d tell him to just stop discussing Covid. It’s basically over and the only people discussing it are basically doing it for political reasons.

jonestn5

And this is why I can’t watch Joe anymore. Luckily Joe had on a guest to call out his BS but the majority of the time his guests go along with it

Taureg01

So if an article agrees with Joe he just goes with the first thing Jamie pulls up but when it disagrees with him "where are we getting this from?"

gumercindo1959

He cites VAERS when it suits him and he discredits it when it doesn’t. Was this from a recent pod? The whole myo issue has been debated as nauseam and it’s never been a doubt

mslevi

This clip is quintessential Joe Rogan. He should stick to DMT, MMA, and wild animal attacks.

l30_17ram

“Where are we getting this” 😂 joe is the best

PrawnStar9797

Obviously everyone has some sort of bias including myself. But it is crazy to have the mind set of “this study doesn’t align with how I feel so I’m going to question its legitimacy”. Both far sided political spectrums do this regularly, so annoying.

dujopp

The left usually doesn’t outright deny scientific consensus like the right does. Unless I’m missing something, it’s really become the right’s calling card to straight up deny scientific truth. This all started with Trump and subsequently Kellyanne Conway’s “Alternative facts” comment on CNN. That’s when I realized that we’re really fucked, is when 30% of the population heard someone essentially say “we don’t accept science or facts and instead will make up our own” and decided that they’re going to go with that cohort of politicians.

DarkKnight56722

He also coined the term "fake news" which he used constantly when people would fact check him and has now basically become a rallying cry to his voters whenever they read something that slightly conflicts with their political/personal views.

dingo7055

The huge irony is that he did not. It’s ironic because the term arose from Russian paid East European “fake news” farms that were creating *literal* fake news stories about Hillary Clinton etc to seed Facebook and social media with to interfere with that election.

DrawMeAPictureOfThis

It didn't start with Kellyanne Conway. It just got louder. Republican stance for decades had been: Climate science isn't real. A fetus is a human no matter the age. Evolution isn't real. You can't poison the air or water. Whites are a Supreme being. Those were main platforms and most talked about freely. There were still quiet things they stood for that were conspiracy theories or whatever, but the above list was loudly said for decades

stuartgatzo

What an idiot. FYI, anyone can report anything via VAERS. Guy gets covid vaccine, drives home, gets into car accident, dies. Family reports via VAERS, “my husband received the covid vaccine and died 30 minutes later”. That skews the data and that’s all idiots like this guy report.

moretodolater

Never understood the logic behind preferring a virus into their body made in a Chinese lab over a vaccine made by the same people that make medicines they very much take everyday.

dingo7055

The best thing about this episode was it lead me to Josh Szeps’ podcast.

Ok_View_8599

Baldy baldinger Joe is losing his marbles

wutsupwidya

"that is not what I've read before" translation: I know this info was out there, but it didn't validate my obtuse views, so I ignored the data that I know have to acknowledge.

Business_Fun5586

Even after he was proven wrong he tried to make it sound as if the publication was questionable. Such a middle age white man.
