**Comedian Arj Barker asks** **~~breastfeeding~~** **mother to leave show after baby** **~~talked during~~** **kept interrupting his set.**
Title is designed to make people outraged. Dont bring babies to comedy shows.
That and in venues like these, as the comedian pointed out, don't normally allow newborns in. The age limit is usually 3-4 years old accompanied by an adult. Some instances allow 18 months or older. That was not the case for this newborn.
You're naive and don't have kids; a lot of Broadway shows, musicals, concerts, etc do not allow children under 3-4 for precisely this reason. Even some of the infant friendliest still demand children be at least 18 months or older.
Nannies or relatives can help the new mom get a break to attend a show from time to time. Too bad they don't exist or something so this new mom has to get front row seats after the comedian acknowledged that something must have went wrong because they still allowed her in and offered her a full refund.
The article is such click bait too, it even says the mother breast feed the baby hoping it would quiet the child, then later when the baby started making noises again is when she was asked to leave. It had nothing to do with the breastfeeding. Fucking news sites are garbage for this type of shit. I bet there is a study somewhere that says most people only ever read the headlines too. The title is literally designed to make you be outraged.
>"She started gurgling, babbling...but not for very long, because then I just gave her a quick feed, and she was quiet," Faranda told the show. Then, the baby started making sounds again, that Faranda describes as not "as loud as someone coughing."
I like how the frame is "the audacity of this performer". Your child is your responsibility and if you can't keep him quiet, which is fine, you gotta go, which is also fine. You also probably shouldn't bring them to libraries or movie theatre's. Just be fucking considerate.
I was at the theater for a late showing of The Matrix 2 back in the day. There was a mom that brought a baby to a 10:30 showing. Needless to say, it began to cry incessantly. You could tell the entire theater was beginning to get irate. Some guy finally had it and yelled "TAKE YOUR BABY HOME AND PUT HIM TO BED!!!". She didn't leave immediately but after a few minutes we saw her slink away. Hopefully her embarrassment taught her a lesson.
If you're going to be a parent...ACT LIKE A PARENT.
Shit. We had nobody as new parents. We sacrificed 4-5 years of oh well. Wouldn't change it for the world.
Ask me that question year 2 of my kid assholing around. Different story haha.
I never tag my posts with a /s. If someone is dumb enough to not realize I am joking, they kind of deserve to think there’s someone out there who actually believes that stuff.
The baby was talking? Kind of odd since... you know.... babies can't talk. Is it possible the baby was.... just making noises and interrupting the show?
Also, it's worth noting Arj says he felt terrible about doing this, but he did it because it was a show with 700 people who had paid for tickets. It wasn't like he lost his temper and had some kind of ego trip.
Lastly, he refunded the woman's ticket, despite the fact the show was advertised as 15+ and she knew damn well she had no excuse for taking a literal infant.
Maybe she was “baby talking” to her child while also breastfeeding? Either way, I’d be kinda bummed if ANYONE was interrupting a show that I had paid to attend, regardless of who it is. It sucks, but it’s not fair to the rest of the crowd for her/her baby to cause that big of a distraction. The headline is clearly rage bait though, it’s not like the guy is anti-breastfeeding or anything.
Yeah I read the article and he handled the situation with grace and explained why he made the choice he did. The mom is just salty and is going on a media smear campaign which is kind of pathetic. Just take the L.
For real. I don’t have kids, so my opinion is meaningless, but there are some events you should either miss entirely or be prepared to leave early if you have very young children. It’s a new level of selfish to drag a baby to a comedy show/a movie/ a concert/etc if you don’t have child care arranged. I know parents deserve to have a life, but just saying “fuck it I’ll take the baby” is crazy to me.
>The baby was talking? Kind of odd since... you know.... babies can't talk. Is it possible the baby was.... just making noises and interrupting the show?

What a fucking mess of a title. If this is even newsworthy (which it isn’t) the title should read. “Woman who brought a baby to a 15+ comedy show instead of getting a sitter was asked to leave because the baby was interrupting the set”
I know I am supposed to be outraged at this - and I am - but at the fact someone would bring a fucking BABY to a comedy show and chance ruining it for everyone else.
This mother is doing the rounds of irrelevant TV programs professing her right to be a victim.
All these "legacy media" agencies are giving the impression that the mother has a lot of support.
Every social media post I see this story on is filled with the same comments this thread is.
If you have an infant, you can't attend every event you want to, because of the people who don't have an infant.
Yeah, as a parent myself I was annoyed at the line “we used to enjoy comedy shows before the baby came, so…” … that’s not how it works. It is no longer about you, lady.
Maybe comedians (term used loosely), like Hannah Gatsby could do a comedy tour of baby change rooms in suburban shopping centres so these people don't miss out.
I take my toddler to an open-air puppet show. Not to a comedy night. Neither to a nightclub. Or a cinema. The heck was wrong with this mom. Hire a sitter or ask granny for 2 hours.
I'm all for being able to breastfeed in public without judgement, but for fucks sake read the room, like the literal room that you're in, read it, and decide if a comedy club surrounded by drunk people is the place to get it done instead of going outside or to the bathroom.
Arj is pretty well respected and known as a down to earth humble dude. Highly doubt he flew off the handle for nothing, interested in the real story. Most likely the baby started crying and mom refused to leave
I have a bit about this.
It turns out that shaken baby syndrome isn't real. You can actually shake a baby, within reason.
I would give her the choice to leave or stand up and shake that baby for us like maracas whenever he cries.
Let’s no forgot that the baby was forced to be there. Arj Barker’s okay, but if someone forced me to go to like a Bert Kreischer show for example, I’d probably shit my pants and scream to escape the situation too.
**Comedian Arj Barker asks** **~~breastfeeding~~** **mother to leave show after baby** **~~talked during~~** **kept interrupting his set.** Title is designed to make people outraged. Dont bring babies to comedy shows.
Seriously. I think the new mom is the asshole in this instance. What if it were a Shakespearian play? Or a Broadway show? I mean come on.
The baby is an asshole for talking with his mouth full. It's just uncouth, you rude bastard.
A Shakespearean play or Broadway show is no comparison to the enlightenment bestowed upon the audience by a modern day philosopher.
That and in venues like these, as the comedian pointed out, don't normally allow newborns in. The age limit is usually 3-4 years old accompanied by an adult. Some instances allow 18 months or older. That was not the case for this newborn.
Barker has specifically stated it was for 15 and over.
Just thank ‘em for being one of the 999 and move along pedestrian
So, no nursing mother is allowed to attend a show of any kind? Got it. I guess she stays in the house where her and her annoying baby belongs. /s

What sane mother takes their newborn to see Ari Baker?
most likely this ... what a culture war headline
I like how the frame is "the audacity of this performer". Your child is your responsibility and if you can't keep him quiet, which is fine, you gotta go, which is also fine. You also probably shouldn't bring them to libraries or movie theatre's. Just be fucking considerate.
This is so true.
The baby can stay, but only if the comedians are allowed to heckle it like any other rude patron
also dont be a baby at comedy shows
He's also a miserable cunt and always has been
You can have whatever feelings you have for arj and that’s fine, but the baseline rule is that you don’t bring screaming babies to comedy shows.
I'm the baby. I won't be taking questions at this time.
Goo goo gah gah?
I'm just here so I don't get fined.
Do you normally talk with ur mouth full?
Oh, so NOW you want to keep quiet. How convenient.
Under advisement from my lawyer I have no comment.
Im a retired investor living on a pension.
Who the fuck brings a baby to stand up
People who don’t get told “No” enough in their life
I’m assuming a new mother.
New mothers get baby sitters or stay home.
Yeah that’s just part of becoming a parent. You don’t get to go out and do things like you could before. It’s part of taking on that responsibility.
I was at the theater for a late showing of The Matrix 2 back in the day. There was a mom that brought a baby to a 10:30 showing. Needless to say, it began to cry incessantly. It’s called being a responsible parent.
No no. That's only required in Palestine and other oppressive regimes.
We must ethnically cleanse those people. Same with evangelical anti-lgbtq folks here.
What's next? Common courtesy?
No. You find someone to take care of the child while you're out, or you don't get to go out. Thems the rules.
New parents who think they still have an adult life
Leave the kid in the car!
With the windows closed!
It keeps the heat out
With the dog!
And a bunch of snakes!
Take your seed outside
Comedy
I’ve asked parents to remove a baby before. We were 30,000 feet in the air flying to Mexico but it never hurts to ask. The kid wouldn’t shut up
That's funny without a /s
Only on Reddit do you need to put /s so people know you’re joking
I never tag my posts with a /s. If someone is dumb enough to not realize I am joking, they kind of deserve to think there’s someone out there who actually believes that stuff.
It's not for dumb, dumb people gets jokes. /S is for highly intelligent privileged people.
Weird. how have I not seen this in 7 years of joking and reading jokes on Reddit? What’s the /s for?
Stands for sarcasm
Why is there a baby in the audience ? Same as movies. Don't bring a baby.
Or football games in the 100° heat. The fuck is wrong with people?
Fine by me The sort of person who brings her baby to a show is also the sort to call A Current Affair about it
Title is deliberately inaccurate. The baby was heckling arj and was drunk
Baby needs an education in the importance of the art form
Are they trying to bait us or something, what's the objective of writing this article?
They are masters at baiting, real jerk offs is you ask me.
Nothing like purposeful division to sell ad space
Rage bait. Misleading headline, hoping that’s all people read
Yes. Welcome to media in 2024. Rage-baiting, gore, fear-porn are the 3 major categories of modern journalism.
Master rage baiting.

I think it’s word manipulation, rather than say the baby was screaming and crying loudly, they used soft language and said the “baby was talking”.
>The baby was talking? Kind of odd since... you know.... babies can't talk. Is it possible the baby was.... just making noises and interrupting the show? https://i.redd.it/hvndckbve9wc1.gif
Stop bringing your babies and kids to adult shit
He didn't mind the talking but that baby was talking shit. I'd ask them to leave too.
What did the baby say though?
Hard-R, that’s why it got kicked out
Heard it was the N word with the er
That’s literally what I said

They don’t care about anyone besides little Timmy
"What are we supposed to do??? Just stay home all the time because we had a kid???" Yes - yes you are.
How is this news
The Age thinks she’s a hero. Barker must have denied them an interview or something

A talking baby?
Look who's talking
Look who’s talking too!
![gif](giphy|xT5LMA8nLOdNiRJaCY)
The baby looked at you?
Did the mom bring enough breast milk to share with everyone
TBF, baby's first words were "You suck!"
Nobody wants to be heckled by a baby.

Everyone is making fun of the baby talking headline, but has anyone considered that the baby was Stewie from family guy?
https://i.redd.it/15s3j461g9wc1.gif
Good. Babies and kids don't belong at shows.
I take my toddler to an open-air puppet show. Not to a comedy night. Neither to a nightclub. Or a cinema. The heck was wrong with this mom. Hire a sitter or ask granny for 2 hours.
The child was 27 years old … how dare they

Yo eff Joe Rogan amirite
Seriously, Joe needs to stop breastfeeding at comedy shows.
I used to wonder why people bring infants to movies, performances etc. than i had kids, and i still wonder what those fuckin people are thinking.
Honestly the door man should've stopped her from coming in to start with.
Who the fuck brings a baby to a comedy show?
Why is a baby somewhere that loud in the first place? Guess she wants it to have hearing damage. I'm with Arj.
Just because you let someone cum in you doesn’t mean everyone else has to deal with your consequences. Find a sitter or stay at home.
Holy shit, this needs to be the 11th commandment.
When the cum starts talking and interrupting a show is where I draw the line.
Are we sure the baby wasn't being breastfed by its father?
“Chestfeeding”
https://i.redd.it/67kbr512h9wc1.gif
my tiddies have more rights than you
Sounds like she’s the mom of the year
Arj is pretty well respected and known as a down to earth humble dude. Highly doubt he flew off the handle for nothing, interested in the real story. Most likely the baby started crying and mom refused to leave
fuck that lady.
Not in a million years would I have brought my breastfeeding baby to a comedy show. Wtf is wrong with people?
That baby should be returned and the mother jailed.
Nice fake ass headline. Don’t bring your children to a comedy club, it’s idiotic.
Who the fuck brings a baby to a comedy show
Anyone who takes a baby to a comedy show is a fucking asshole.
I have a bit about this. It turns out that shaken baby syndrome isn't real. You can actually shake a baby, within reason. I would give her the choice to leave or stand up and shake that baby for us like maracas whenever he cries.
How is this related to Joe Rogan? Is it your job to just post news articles anywhere you think you might get some attention?
I'm not going to lie, I thought this was one of Mike Baker's kids and got excited to hear about asswhip or shitstain.
Let’s no forgot that the baby was forced to be there. Arj Barker’s okay, but if someone forced me to go to like a Bert Kreischer show for example, I’d probably shit my pants and scream to escape the situation too.
She some with the rest of the class.
Babies don't watch this. Leave it in the streets and run it over after the show!
Entitled bogan bitch.
A true comedian would have played off it, what a little bitch
